A watch with character, between sport and elegance

I recently fell for the Alpina Alpiner Extreme Automatic Green (and yes, for once it is not blue), and after several days on my wrist, I must say that it is a great success.

At first glance, its textured green dial attracts attention with superb plays of light. This color brings a touch of originality without being too flashy. The 41 mm stainless steel case, with angular lines, gives it a style that is both robust and modern. Its integrated bracelet reinforces this impression of solidity and balance.

On the mechanical side, it features the automatic AL-525 caliber, a reliable movement offering 38 hours of power reserve. Nothing exceptional at this level, but it does the job with good precision. The screw-down crown and water resistance to 200 meters make it a watch ready to face all situations, whether urban or more sporty.

The rubber strap is a real success: flexible, comfortable to wear and perfectly adapted to the spirit of the watch. It ensures excellent support without sacrificing comfort. I also admire the work done on the buckle which is really an additional point that made me fall in love.

In summary, the Alpiner Extreme Automatic Green is a sporty and classy watch, which stands out for its neat design and robust construction. A very good choice for those who want a model with character, without falling into excess.

Iconic Model

I have long imagined/searched for The Brand, The Watch for my 40th birthday.
As an aviation fan, I was inevitably heading towards Breitling, but when the Bell & Ross BR 03-94 Blue Steel crossed my path, it was love at first sight.

This beauty combines military design and modernity. Its 42 mm square stainless steel case is imposing and robust, on my wrist it is perfect (I have trouble with diameters less than 40 mm). It is difficult to choose the color, we would need them all, but I always fall for blue. The dial and its hypnotizing sunray blue subdials allow optimal readability.

It is equipped with the BR-CAL.301 movement, based on the ETA 2894-2, which offers a 42-hour power reserve, a simple calendar complication (date) and a stopwatch. It is waterproof up to 100 meters but I never dared to put it in water, the watch is equipped with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

It is comfortable, sold with its blue leather strap and a Nato-style nylon strap that I have never worn. No metal strap, too bad, I would have liked to see it with one.

The price is quite expensive, it would have been a nice plus if it were COSC certified but it has no equal so we crack.

As soon as you put it on your wrist, you feel like you have received your mission order, all you have to do is get into your Mirage 2000 or Rafale to go tease Maverick.



A B&R for my 40th birthday

I travel and I was looking for a versatile watch (resistant, diving, GMT)
with an interesting quality/price ratio and the cherry on the cake "French".
Several brands and models came to mind such as the LIP Nautic GMT, the Baltic Aquascaphe GMT, the Charlie-Paris Concordia GMT and the Yema Superman 500 GMT, for prices ranging from €940-€1345.

Yema and I already have a great love story, I will not retell the whole emblematic history of the brand here, but I already have the Superman Héritage in 41mm and a Digidisc.

I took advantage of the Yema sales and the possibility of paying up to 10x to set my sights on the Superman 500 GMT "Batman" which combines elegance and robustness with its stainless steel case that I chose in 41mm it has a domed sapphire crystal of the most beautiful effect. Its two-tone blue and black bezel (black appears more often gray) allows the reading of the GMT function.

It is equipped with a YEMA3000 in-house movement, offering 42 hours of power reserve. Water-resistant to 500m, well I only went down to 5m while snorkeling, it has the famous bezel locking device that makes the Superman specific. The grade A super-luminova ensures incredible readability.

I bought it with the steel bracelet but I immediately switched to a blue rubber (for a change).

A real versatile watch, solid and elegant.
I recommend it to you.



A GMT for traveling

The Alpina brand was created in 1883 by Gottlieb Hauser in Winterthur, Switzerland.
