AVI-8 Hawker Hunter Owner Review : Pleasing, modern and sober

I was in a hurry to receive my first quartz watch. The 45mm diameter doesn't scare me because the case is black, which I think refines the watch. That being said, the external groove of the bezel still gives it an external diameter that cannot be ignored because it takes on the reflections of the light. The black dial allows the Arabic numerals and the hands to be contrasted well. The numbers are of different sizes. The 2, 4, 8, 10 are literally oversized. The numbers and the hands are largely covered in lum, which gives a really ideal night-time readability. The hands are very largely openworked to let you see the sub-dials: the small seconds at 6 o'clock and the minutes of the chrono at noon. The small seconds marks the cadence and the precision of the quartz step, where the red seconds hand beats at the 5th of a second of its mechanical march. The clever mix of black dial, white numerals and hands and red seconds, sub-dial markings and push buttons give this watch a modern look. The internal bezel showing the time countdown is controlled by a crown located at 10 o'clock. The push buttons and the crown at 3 o'clock serve in the traditional way for a chronograph.
