We no longer present the Cartier Tank, the dress watch par excellence. The must-have tank version of the 80s has all the codes of the Louis tank: rounded edges, content dimensions 24 x 30mm, blued sword hands, sapphire cabochon.... The railroad timer is also present on several dial versions. The original Cartier buckle is superb, with a beautiful drop: 18mm between the lugs and 14mm at the buckle. The vermeil case has nothing to envy its solid gold counterpart, visually we do not make the difference.
The variety of dials makes it irresistible, there is necessarily a version that will be to your taste.
It exists in manual movement (eta decorated by Cartier) or quartz, the parts are available you take no risk.
Purists will wear it only with a formal outfit but it can be suitable for any occasion. Avoid only pool parties and humid environments it is not waterproof.

It is difficult to introduce my Cartier Tank Solo other than by talking about elegance. The adjective seems to be unanimous among observers or curious people who notice the object placed on my wrist. The sophistication, specific to the house of Cartier, perfectly matches this model that I still find perfect, after more than a year of ownership. The simplicity of the dial, the impeccable finishes of the polished case, the alternation of polished and brushed links on the bracelet, the blue of the hands and the sapphire adorning the crown are all delicious aesthetic details. Finally, the absence of a seconds hand, the calibration of the quartz, the contained diameter (large model), the lightness of the object and the comfort of the steel bracelet offer me the privilege of being inhabited by a fabulous feeling of freedom when I wear my Cartier Tank. An absolute and unforgettable success for my first watch.

Elegance, sophistication and freedom

I bought this watch in 2021, the week it came out. I was looking for my first beautiful new watch and nothing predestined me to go to Cartier. I liked Cartier but it wasn't the first brand in my mind when I thought about buying my first beautiful watch. Then by chance, I passed a Cartier store with my best friend and I remembered that the new tank had just come out. So curious to see it, we went to the store to try it on. And that's when love at first sight happened! My first real watchmaking crush! I felt like I had arrived in paradise when I saw this watch! To tell you, I wasn't even listening to the conversation between my friend and the salesman because I was hypnotized by the watch on my wrist. 
We left the store without buying it but I kept it in mind, I would even say that I only thought about it. That's when my best friend told me "frankly, it's beautiful" and that was it for me ahah because I had confirmation from my best friend that this watch was beautiful and that it suited me well. So we went back the next day and I left with it. 

I love this watch like the first time I tried it on. I bought it on a black strap but I was allowed to choose a second strap. So I chose the blue one which was the strap on which I tried the watch in store. And a steel strap was added later to be able to change my look and have a more sporty and less dressy look. 
If you like iconic, small watches, this watch is for you! And you will be like me, hypnotized by the beauty and elegance of this watch on your wrist!

My Cartier Tank Must is….a must have!

A myth for over a century, the Cartier Tank has managed to cross the ages so well thanks to a refined and classic style, which makes it the perfect watch. You will just have to dress its stretchers with an alligator, calf or crocodile leather strap and it will accompany you in the simplest moments of your life but especially in the most chic. As Andy said: "it's THE watch to wear".

THE watch to wear

Iconic watch featuring the many distinctive signs of the house (beaded winding crown, blue sapphire cabochon, Cartier signature in the number VII...), it will seduce you with its design and its contained dimensions. The easily interchangeable bracelet is a real plus, allowing you to change style easily. Only downside: quartz movement for a watch in this price range...
Overall very satisfied with this watch, both elegant and discreet.

Watch shared with wife since our engagement, it goes wonderfully from one wrist to another without flinching.

Timeless elegance

This is a real little gem that the very elegant house of Cartier has created with this new edition of the Tank black dial model. The model that I am presenting here, from the Tank Must range, is made of steel with a Quartz movement but this does not detract from its precious character. This character obviously comes from its extremely refined dial. A perfectly uniform black shade with the only color, if any, being the silver of the legendary sword hands as well as the applique of the Cartier name at twelve o'clock. These elements create a unique contrast that makes the dial even deeper, with an endless black. A small negative point, however, for its alligator strap, also dyed in very rigid black, which struggles - even after a long period of wear - to perfectly fit the wrist, the traditional pin buckle is always pleasant. The watch obviously goes perfectly with evening wear but can also find a surprisingly but slightly sporty side with a sweater in winter.

A little gem made of black

It's now been about 4 years that I have this beautiful vintage from the 1980s. 
After about 1 year of searching, I was able to achieve my goal by obtaining, not without difficulty, this magnificent Tank must. It was by taking inspiration from the design of a tank seen from above (the stretchers for the tracks and the case for the passenger compartment) that Louis Cartier imagined in 1917 one of the most emblematic shaped watches of the house: the Tank. Sixty years later, the icon entered the Must range. 

So yes, the Tank must is not the Tank Louis Cartier, but it looks a lot like it! Featuring a gold-plated vermilion case, Roman numeral indexes, blued hands and even the blue cabochon, all the codes are there. 
It contains a mechanical movement with manual winding (the 
78-1), a movement that is difficult to find on the market, the watch being already quite rare and most of the models present being equipped with a quartz movement. 
The Must range initially intended for the American market to relaunch the brand quickly became popular around the world, selling its models at the time between €500 and €800. 40 years later, models regularly resurface in more or less correct conditions. I highly recommend this world for its absolutely magnificent art deco style, its vintage and elegant dimension as well as its versatility (even with jeans it will have its effect). 
Much less expensive than the current Tanks, it embodies a perfect alternative for fans of CARTIER and Tank.

Tank Must 80s - Old Lady with French Charm

Another favorite that was easy to fall for. I came across an ad for this tank in a condition far from new, of course, but full of charm and still as legendary.
It's a safe choice and yet quite original in terms of its shape, alloy, color...

After a few months I'm delighted with it and I'm not the only one to enjoy it since I can lend it to my girlfriend.

Here's an argument to justify this indulgence!
