My name is Tom, I am 22 years old and I have been passionate about watches for as long as I can remember.

Today, I am happy to tell you about a piece that is particularly close to my heart, the Direnzo DRZ 02R.

I was seduced from the first glance. It perfectly mixes vintage and contemporary, a really well-balanced balance. It made such an impression on me that I managed to contact the founder and buy one for myself!

What amazed me was its ability to naturally combine old and new. Its dial, with its double caseback, creates a subtle depth.

The arcs of the circle that form the hour markers are quite unique, and the watch completely changes appearance in the dark, it is a bit like wearing a different watch in the dark.

What I also like is that it is not flashy or too sophisticated. Its charm really lies in its clean and precise design. Every detail seems thought out, nothing is left to chance.

As it is a limited edition, it will be difficult to find one today. But I still advise you to take a look at their site.

Direnzo DRZ 02R

The Direnzo brand was created in 2016 by Sergio Godoy Di Renzo in Geneva, Switzerland. An architect by profession, he founded the brand following a watch design course. The name of his brand is a tribute to his grandfather of Italian origin from the small town of Bomba, in the province of Chieti.
With Direnzo, Sergio wants to create timepieces that are inspired by the timeless beauty of racing cars and airplanes from the mid-20th century. For example, the Type 250F echoes the Maserati 250F that drove Juan Manuel Fangio to victory in the Formula 1 Grand Prix at the N&uuml;rburgring.
The first models launched on Kickstarter were a great success and allowed it to find a place in the sphere of watchmaking micro-brands.

The Direnzo brand being a victim of its success, the historic models DRZ Type 250, DRZ 02 or DRZ 03 are out of stock. The second-hand market is the only remaining option to afford the brand's first models.&nbsp;

Direnzo is above all a new language! The Aerolite (DRZ02r) comes in an original case, alternating brushed finishes and polished chamfers on the concave sides! The latter highlights an equally concave dial, with uniquely arranged sandwich indexes. The thin and equally special hands are luminous, as are the indexes, thanks to a generous application of BGW9. Once a minute, the circle of the seconds hand completely eclipses the date. The crown is pleasant to handle. The Y-shaped bracelet with a mainly brushed finish, specially created for this watch, has a polished central part. This is slightly recessed and thus protects it. Moreover, all the steel components are coated with scratch protection. The semi-integrated bracelet elegantly extends the retro-futuristic lines of the case. Very comfortable on the wrist and offering a beautiful presence. Finally, the Sellita SW-200-1 caliber Elaborated with anti-shock protection that powers it, offers precision, durability and a smooth movement of the seconds hand. As you will have understood, I love this creation by Sergio G. Di Renzo. Its exclusives are affordable and unique. They put watches with a refined design and Swiss manufacture within reach of almost everyone.

When creativity meets quality!

Nothing leaves you indifferent about this watch. The curved dial, the design of the indexes and hands.
Then the case of course with its hollowed sides; a pebble shape but which remains super comfortable on the wrist.
Finally the bracelet which sublimates the whole by marrying the case to perfection, with beautiful polished parts to wake up

A little marvel on the wrist

Another watch purchased in pre-sale without having tried it on… And yet another impression of pleasure greater than that experienced by looking at the tempting photos for hours before taking the plunge last July, phew! And I'm not afraid of getting tired of it (even if it's a little early to conclude). 
An undeniable aesthetic success! A big bravo to the designer for this watch that is so beautiful, original and bold. The intersection of the curves is subtle and magnificent, and what a hollowed-out profile highlighted by polymirror chamfers! What can we say about the sandwich dial with versatile reflections, and delicately curved edges… not to mention the Eiffel Tower-style hands! 
My fear about the rendering of the "opulent" bracelet has faded, it fits very well and does not visually weigh down the watch when worn. On the other hand, it probably contributes to making it heavier: 146g all the same despite several links removed. This is probably its major flaw, even if the weight is well distributed and it doesn't really bother you on a daily basis (the main thing!).
Not necessarily a fan of date complications, I nevertheless took this version to appreciate the lollipop seconds hand obscuring it one second every 60 (eclipse that we find on other models of the brand)! The elaborate SW200 movement is impeccably regulated. The general characteristics meet my specifications: diameter of 39, horn to horn of 44, thickness of 11.3, AR sapphire crystal (including back), 100m water resistance avoiding any problems of use... The powerful luminova renders superbly. Finally, I appreciate the increased resistance of the case and bracelet (shocks and scratches) via an additional coating for a hardness HV800.
All for a price of less than €1000 (all taxes included) for this Swiss made. What more could you ask for? Without a doubt a brand image to build, like all micro-brands whose courage and perseverance to launch into this competitive and passionate universe can be admired right away! Excellent trend for Direnzo who has continued his rise with merit and success since 2017, congratulazioni!
