Gavox AviDiver Owner Review : Functional, readable and robust

Like a tank, this watch has drawbacks induced by its qualities. To analyze this Gavox, we must first understand what its specifications are. The goal was to create an object that takes up the characteristic elements of an aviation watch (Avi-) and a diving watch (Diver). This brilliantly executed hybridization offers us a resistant, readable and waterproof watch. On the wrist, we find ourselves with an instrument of conquest with an assumed design that gives off a feeling of indestructibility. When we see what Michael (the creator of Gavox) has done to some of his pieces, we quickly understand that it is not just an impression... I encourage you to go to his Youtube page to find out more. As for the dial, the latter is of the sandwich type and has large hollowed-out indexes painted with Superluminova. Special mention for this triangular marker rotating around the dial and activated by the second crown located at 2 o'clock. Intended as an alternative to the rotating bezel, it will be more of an aesthetic element that adds a lot of charm to the watch. As I said above, these qualities bring some constraints that can constitute a “No Go” when purchasing. As it is a (partly) aviation watch, its 43 mm diameter will not fit all wrists. With its almost 13 mm thickness and its weight on a rubber strap of 102 gr, we quickly understand that the image of the tank is not just a figment of the imagination.
