This Grand Seiko watch was recently acquired during a trip to Japan. A real slap in the face of finishing touches

Well this is not my first watch far from it, nor my first diver, on the other hand a watch that gives me so much pleasure, this has rarely happened, and yet I love my watches ;) I will not give the specs again it is useless because you must already know them if you pass by here, on the other hand what I can tell you is that despite these 39mm on my 21.5cm wrist and well it is not at all ridiculous. it is a bodybuilder with finishes worthy of the greats. I took it with the Newton as caliber, because I have no doubt that in 30 years it will be a collector's item. ;) Otherwise it is really very pleasant to wear despite the knack that you have to take to put on the bracelet, on the other hand this bracelet is really great because depending on the heat of the cold the setting is a delight, a kind of micro adjustment. This Mi GMT MI Diver bezel is ideal for me because I set it to the time zone of my best friend in Melbourne, it's super practical. A real diver and a real brand that I think will go far.

53-03 The Purist

Some will see a Royal Oak like and they will be right! it is undeniable the attractions of this watch that we can compare. However it is a reissue of the 70s, from Nivada, superbly faithful.
The impeccable finishes, undoubtedly a downside on the bracelet and the endlink, otherwise it is very comfortable
Be careful with the dimensions of the small because indeed it is given for 37mm in diameter, but me who wears a big watch it is very good, so be careful with the small chicken wrist.
And finally it remains to talk about the dial ... or rather no I let you admire the reflections and gradients, a killer that make it a very special watch.

NIVADA F77 Smoked Blue

A very grand title to finally be only a ghost
It is also this aspect that attracted me to her.
Square but curved watch, it is suitable for large wrists, (chicken wrists abstain)
It imposes itself by its size, its shape, its style, its color and of course its movement
Valjoux caliber, we will inevitably feel it on the wrist.
Sapphire crystal front and back
Very modern finishes of the dial which I hope you will be able to notice in photos.
The black PVD coating goes away with the years so you have to be careful of friction.
The comfort of the bracelet is unique, it is a real asset to this watch.
Watch of my 40 years I can only love this beauty, even if finally I wear it little because it does not really go everywhere


Pontos Carré Full Black Chronograph

Well here is my little Grand Prix, it's a Jump hour, really atypical, worthy of the 70s. This brand no longer exists to my knowledge. It's a watch that doesn't really have much financial value. The movement is a manual movement, not of great quality, and even quite low-end. However, the finish of the dial with this blue, the discs of the same color (like what more than 50 years ago the manufacture managed to do it ;). and the case, yes the case makes all the charm of this grand prix, I call it the cube but the proportions are perfect, with an alternation of polished and brushed. It is light and portable. It is without a doubt one of my favorites in my collection and probably the one that didn't cost me an arm and a leg.

We are far from these last very interesting releases with the PRX in particular.
To travel a little more with this little bit of history that Tissot tells us with this SeaStar from the 70s. I would say that this watch is a candy from the past, with a dial that exudes decades gone by. A patina on the dial that here pulls as much on the green as on the beige or even champagne at times.
So it is certain that many here will see only an uninteresting bit of the past, and I dive into it as if to try to find out what this beauty could have lived.
A heart beating with a precision that could make the recent ones blush, an incredible lightness a diameter of the time. Nothing great and yet

Tissot SeaStar Automatic

This little Omega has been part of my collection for a while now, and is not really new. Case called Jumbo for the time with its 38mm a domed plexi glass 
This nugget has 2 particularities, the first being its tuning fork caliber, which gives it its nickname of bumblebee caliber, because it purrs like a bee. The second particularity and this one is linked to my watch, is its dial called spider, we are not going to lie to each other it is a dial defect that flakes or rather cracks over time, it gives a spider web effect which depending on the angles of the light is visible, or not. We like it or not, but think well that if it is mine and well personally I love it


Omega Geneva F300

Small Quartz Chronograph that has everything of a great one.
Indeed this unpretentious watch with its Swiss quartz caliber has an unfortunate tendency to have a resemblance to well-known chronographs. And yet it has nothing to do with it!
40mm watch (it's my wife's favorite), Steel case that alternates between polished and satin. The horn to horn is quite short, the bracelet is surprisingly very comfortable. I like to change the bracelet on my watches, this one has never had the right as long as it is comfortable.
The dial is undoubtedly its strong point. 3 sub-dials of the chronograph, large date at noon with perfect integration
The hands are not treated with super luminova, it's a bias, you either like it or not.
Water-resistant to 100m which makes it a real sports watch
Too bad this version was never made to accommodate a mechanical movement, because the design really deserves it.


Maurice Lacroix Miros Chronograph

"Tank" Miros a real Dresswatch
Last ML to arrive in my collection, I must admit that I fell under the spell of this dresswatch which takes up the codes of the famous Tank. Indeed the rectangular case the silver railway the Roman numerals, you would really have to be blind not to see the similarities, and yet ... between the layout and design of the dial the integration of the date, the ML manuf movement makes it a very unique watch. I only wear it very little now and my wife much more than me, because yes its size and shape make it a unisex watch (despite my Tanos wrist) an ultra contained thickness and a shine in the sun from the case and its dial make it a superb watch for flashy occasions. Brand far too underrated which according to the models are worth a spotlight.


Miros Automatic "Tank"

I'm not going to go back over this watch because almost everyone knows it. I tried it, loved it, and completely embraced this beauty. And quartz seems much more legitimate to me because of its history. It has become a real toolwatch. It does everything, from skiing to commuting. The steel bracelet is very comfortable. I also have the leather one, which is more for winter and between us it changes look. That is to say that I have almost 2 watches. It took me a while to buy it because I was really hesitant, and I don't regret it at all. Top finish, comfortable for my big wrist.

TISSOT PRX Quartz 

Here is a small neo vintage chronograph equipped with a Seiko Meca Quartz. The finishes are very well done, the contained diameter and thickness also, the change of bracelet suits it well too. No small seconds which can justify the meca quartz. In limited edition this beauty is declined over time and the desires of their manufacturer, who are not French, but who use a story telling to make us believe it. A point which precisely denotes is the tachymeter scale in Miles which does not correspond with the image which wishes to give of it. We can note superb details with the white chrono hands with the orange tip which with this slate dial touches just right. The applied indexes are of the most beautiful effect

Slate Heritage Chronograph

This watch is not one of my favorites and yet...
It has everything a great watch has, polished and brushed steel, 12-sided bezel, integrated bracelet, simple and effective sunray dial, hour and minute hand, just to make us forget that it is a quartz (very appreciable, it must be recognized.
But its advantage is its thickness, which must not exceed 5mm
Be careful with its diameter because it exceeds 42mm, I know that it exists in smaller ones for women.


Delphin Quartz

Here is one of my 2022 favorites, Bought in a numbered Blue edition, I literally fell in love with the photo, Titanium case, dimensions, dial, index hands, domed glass, there was only one detail that I didn't like, the bracelet, in fact it's not my style. I put it directly on Nato at first, then on engineer steel. and indeed, the steel bracelet would suit it very well, however you have to find one, and if possible with the end links but Baltic does not offer it yet. Otherwise the watch is perfect, precisely no false notes.

Aquascaphe Titanium, Almost too perfect

A typical watch from the 70s, this Sicura Diver is as rare to find as the wait I had to wait to get it.
In its original condition, it needed a good polishing on the case and the bracelet was not original, so I changed it and got a two-tone Jubilee to honor it.
It must be admitted that its mechanical movement with manual winding is not a lightning bolt of war, in fact it is rather low-end for the time. However, it is still running after 50 years. Precision being secondary to me, I don't mind winding it up and setting the time when I wear it.
The hesalite glass is quite fragile, but superbly domed which gives it a crazy charm.
The dial is champagne with applied indexes without Lum. A fluted bi-directional bezel with 15min indications, which absolutely does not make it a Diver, as its name indicates... But hey.
It is undoubtedly one of the least expensive of my watches and yet its assertive character and its shape which combines Tool Watch and diving watch particularly successful for the time surely makes it one of my favorites.

Sicura Diver... or almost!

It is an aviator type watch because it has a diameter of 42mm
Which suits me perfectly for me and my Tanos wrist
The dial is really well finished, the integration of the date and day are superbly done
The blah-blah is interesting in its integration too (the kind of detail that pleases)
The polished domed 316L case makes it almost a dresswatch
The crown takes up the aviator type codes big crown (NBY logo)
Classic Miyota movement well decorated without being stunning either
Slightly domed sapphire crystal which follows the case, a pure detail! The back is also sapphire
For the LUM, I will not say non-existent because there are some on the half-skeleton hands and on the 3-6-9 o'clock noon indexes
A negative point the leather strap on the folding clasp is really not good quality I changed it immediately so you will not see it. The box is really not great, besides it's just a poorly finished felt case so I won't talk about it.
Forced to note that I have nothing to say about the quality and of course the design which for me is simply a perfection of originality
