My Hamilton Khaki Action Sport automatic, 40 mm, from 2005 is in new condition. It is a watch that I am very attached to. I put a suede leather strap on it that suits it very well. The removable crown protector gives it originality. The matte case plays into its discretion. I like it very much.

I never get tired of it

The almost perfect watch! You can do anything with it! It is robust, I love the brushed steel, I feel like the watch is impossible to scratch. The falsely patinated indexes are magnificent, the luminescent material works wonderfully and for a long time! Reading the time couldn't be easier, the NATO strap is comfortable, the little touches of leather add that little something extra. The 80-hour power reserve is very appreciable. The hands are basic but very effective, and the slightly domed sapphire crystal is anti-reflective, which is very pleasant! There is also a stop second, which is not always the case on watches in this price range. I absolutely love everything about this watch that can be worn in any circumstance. With its iconic design, its features, and its history, I find that the price is really more than justified! It’s hard to do better, for me the Khaki Field is really Hamilton’s centerpiece (with the Ventura which we hear a little less about). The only downside, if we have to find one, is its water resistance to only 50 meters, certainly it’s not a watch whose purpose is to go in the water, but a water resistance to 100m would have really been the icing on the cake.

My Hamilton khaki field GMT watch that I bought about ten years ago has followed me on so many adventures and trips that it is the ultimate watch for the adventurer, waterproof 200 meters GMT. I don't wear it much anymore, but when I take it out again, it brings back a sense of nostalgia, I still love it as much.

She breathes her DNA

Hamilton Khaki field mechanical in 38 mm. I had the beige strap mounted on it, it did not suit me, lack of comfort. I opted for a 2-piece nato which changed everything. The watch itself exudes robustness when I wind it. No play in the crown. With good autonomy, more than 3 days for sure. Simple and nice purchase.

A nice mechanism

I opted for this Field Watch because it is in the ranking of Field Watches in a very good place with the IWC Pilot Mark XVIII. I chose the 40 mm diameter because I am visually impaired. For the bracelet side I had a custom-made bracelet made by Jaeger-Lecoultre in the color of the dial and white stitching to recall the dial which gives a Full Black style it is the same bracelet that is on the Polaris one of my favorite watches that I will have one day

Change your view of time

I was a student in the United States and I was looking for a watch within my budget, with a history and quite versatile ... my choice quickly fell on Hamilton, and more particularly on the Khaki Field Auto in 38mm. And after a few years with it I can say it: this watch has it all!! 

Its dial is busy but simple: the minutes, the hours ... with its second circle is very useful when you want to teach a child to tell the time (memory memory). Then it has a history in the world of watchmaking, but above all it represents a chapter of my life (studies in the USA). 

But above all this watch is an ideal traveling companion. I did not realize how useful the date could be ... until my cell phone broke down abroad with no way to recharge it immediately ... This faithful adventurer has seen a lot of country !!! 

Small shadow point: the original leather strap with which I was moderately attached. But once replaced with a canvas strap in olive green fabric ... you get the idea I'm sure ^___^

In conclusion I would say that this watch, in addition to its usefulness, is excellent for making memories. I would have liked to see it on the wrist of a Forrest Gump (if he wore one) or an Indiana Jones (instead of this Boulton that was put on him in his last adventure). In short this model brings back all the nostalgia when I look at it and it will continue to accompany me everywhere in my adventures.


An all-terrain adventurer

I bought this watch new in January 2022. I found the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical model in 38 mm to be good for my 17cm chicken wrist.
I admit that I fell for it when I saw that this model was released with a bronze case, I find that it goes very well with the black dial and the faux patina colored indexes. The basic leather nato strap provided with the set goes well with the watch, unfortunately I never wear it with it because it is not very comfortable.
So I use it with a standard fabric nato strap and this allows me to keep the finesse of this case, this is the advantage of this watch thanks to its manual winding movement, it is very thin on the wrist, a real plus for this watch that I often wear because it goes very easily with any outfit. In addition, it is very pleasant on the wrist because it is very light, thank you to the titanium case back.

Note that this piece is a reinterpretation of the Hamilton Khaki Field which was originally made for the American army.
Its generously sized crown located at 3 o'clock gives character and gives the air of an aviator's watch but also allows a good grip which is essential to give energy to the watch.

The little detail that I prefer on this Hamilton is the change in color of the case thanks to the bronze which patinates, which gives even more character to this field watch.
In conclusion this watch ticks a lot of boxes and improves in my opinion with time like good wine.

Small timepiece but big pleasure!

Attracted at first by the basic Khaki Field Mechanical model for its direct lineage with the model issued to GIs during the Vietnam War, I finally turned to the 38mm Auto model.

More refined with its polished bezel and brushed case, its sunburst halo under the hour numerals, its syringe hands and its red tip on the second hand, this watch can be worn in any circumstance. The date window integrates perfectly into the dial without disrupting its organization, unlike the 42mm Auto version or the Mechanical Officer version. It also has the advantage of being water-resistant to 100m.

On the movement side, the H-10 delivers more than 80 hours of power reserve, and a drift of +4s/day (tested flat for 24 hours).

In conclusion, this watch is my "daily" and is likely to remain so for a long time...

Khaki Field Auto 38mm, the refined military watch

I had been looking for an "everyday" watch for some time, neither too big nor too thick, and that gave me great emotions. At the beginning of 2023, I went to a watchmaker who distributes the brand, from whom I had already bought a Hamilton, to bring another watch that had a problem. As our discussion progressed, he came to present me with some models of the brand that he had in stock, with some on sale. He first presented me with a Khaki Aviation Air Race which, even if it was not ugly, left me rather indifferent. Then he offered me a classic Khaki Field which I already liked more, but which, once on the handle, did not give me any particular emotion. And that's when out of nowhere comes this Khaki Field Titanium, gray background, model H70545550, which literally blew me away, as rarely has it happened to me for a watch, the dancing reflections of the dial ending up making me fall in love. Little cherry on the cake, the titanium makes it very light without giving the impression that it is fragile. Currently I wear it on a black nylon/leather strap from Akrone.

Hello, In 2014 I felt the need to have a mechanical watch. Having very little experience on the subject, I modestly documented myself on the subject and very quickly the budget was a brake to have a watch to my taste. Yes, as I come from quartz, I always have an interest in precision.... After a few months of reflection, it was the KAKI FIELD that met my criteria (budget, diameter, thickness, design, water resistance and precision). Hamilton Khaki field mechanical

The khaki field mechanical, a military watch that needs no introduction. Certainly one of the best Field Watches with this reasonable price. The finish is exemplary, the diameter of 38 will suit everyone even if the horns are very long, its finesse is very appreciable thanks to the H10 manual winding movement. The 80-hour power reserve is very comfortable. It is preferably worn with a nato strap but everything suits it. And it seems robust thanks to its sandblasted case and sapphire crystal. The only downside is its water resistance down to the ground but personally, it doesn't matter. In short, a must have!

Khaki field mechanical, the ultimate military watch

Bought in 2016, I was looking for my first automatic watch without wanting to blow my budget, that's why I went for the Hamilton brand which for me was the best value for money with a design that met my expectations. Being passionate about aviation, it was impossible for me not to fall for this Khaki Field Skeleton model, revealing the mechanism through this fabulous cross-shaped dial that simply suggests an airplane propeller! I wear it quite regularly on weekends and have been for almost 7 years, and I have nothing to say about its comfort which is really very good, as well as its solidity in normal use. Since 2016 it has not been cleaned or serviced and it still works very well without any apparent problem. 7 years later I am still satisfied with my watch and happy as the first day.

Ma belle Hamilton Skeleton 

This watch is simply the definition of discretion. With its black case and its 38mm diameter it is very sober especially with the anthracite or black NATO. But being black it could match perfectly with flashier NATO bracelets. On the other hand I find the horns too long to put on a pin or folding bracelet. It is very robust because I do not pay attention when I wear it and the case is immaculate level scratch even with a magnifying glass. On the other hand 5atm of waterproofness I find it a shame I think that 10atm would have been perfect for a field watch with which I do not want to pay attention. The luminova shines super well and makes it precise to read even at night. The double scale and the indexes make it the watch with the most readable time that I have owned.

The adventurer who is a little afraid of water

An iconic watch brought up to date by its size and its bronze case. A pleasant mechanism to handle with its good-sized crown and a power reserve that can allow forgetting to wind it.
The bronze patina very well. The horns are long and allow the wearing of any type of bracelet.

Bronze at attention

The Khaki field mechanical is THE field watch par excellence! An iconic watch, loaded with history, it was the GI's issued watch for many years. Now attached to the Swatch Group, the brand offers timepieces that respect this heritage.
Concretely we have a 38mm case, ideal proportions as far as I'm concerned. Be careful, the lugs are quite long. This manual winding version allows a contained thickness of 9.5 mm. The sandblasted steel finish will protect it from scratches and other knocks. The dial is simple and very readable.
The ETA-derived caliber (Swatch Group obliges) is reliable, precise and offers a beautiful power reserve of almost 80 hours.
The khaki Nato strap is perfectly in line with the adventurous spirit of the watch. Be careful, however, if replaced by a classic double strap, a large space appears between the case and the strap. Quite unsightly to tell the truth.
In the end, a great daily watch, a faithful companion that accompanies me on all my outdoor adventures.

The soldier's watch

For me it is really THE military watch (type 2nd World War) par excellence. Great simplicity in design and therefore very good readability. Too bad that the water resistance is given for 5 bars only. The lugs are a little long for my taste (significant gap between the bracelet and the case). I appreciate the 3 days of power reserve. A watch that I wear during my travels or trips to areas where it is better not to have a watch that is too "flashy".
