What can I say about this watch whose diameter is the largest in my collection: 45mm? Well Seiko are magicians. They managed to make me wear a "big" watch even though I have a chicken wrist! It really sits perfectly on my wrist. In terms of precision, I have it and wear it almost every day - it moves forward 5 seconds / day which is very very good!! On the other hand, the quality of the steel seems very low because I bumped into a door and a big scratch on one of the horns appeared. With a little elbow grease and sandpaper (grain 240 then 1000 then 3000) I managed to erase this ugly mark made at work and which would not have reminded me of a good memory. I am very satisfied with this watch with its vintage look, I quickly got the black strap because it was too big and I ordered the Seiko strap from the SRPE99k1 which suits it very well. The bezel turns perfectly but does not seem as qualitative as some other watches that I have been able to test but better than the SKX
The lume is also a great strength of Seiko and this is confirmed with this watch on which I have no trouble reading the time in the morning in the dark.


A Ninja Turtle

This Steinhart has its own identity even if it is indeed a tribute: the original logo distinguishes it and brings a fun side to this watch. The proportions of the 39mm are perfect for small wrists!! The proportions of the watch on this size reinforce the design of the watch: the indexes are closer together which brings a plus in the aesthetics of the watch. In terms of the caliber, it is equipped with a sellita SW200 -2 which delays by about 2 - 5 seconds per day (this is an average observed over a month when worn) The luminova is not its strong point compared to Seiko but it still shines well at night and in the morning I can read the time when I wake up.

Steinhart O1 39 mm: good value for money!!

Thank you Hamilton for thinking of chicken wrists!! This Murph 38 is really superb!! Very elegant and at the same time sporty like a field. The work on the case and the bezel is superb with an alternation of polished and brushed. The original design contributes to giving this watch its character with its cathedral hand. Small downsides: the bracelet, very hard and the Lume ... disappointing next to Seiko. Too bad for 100m of water resistance that we do not have a screwed crown but hey we are not going to complain 100m is better than the other Field at 50m. 
I wear it often but not enough because of my damn addiction to the date ... and yes we have problems in life 😉 in short I love this watch and in addition, it seems that it is famous thanks to its appearance in a film ...

Murph 38

Positive points: dial, large crown easy to grab and nicely decorated with clou de Paris, unidirectional rotating bezel pleasant to handle clou de Paris, pretty hands with detail on the seconds hand painted in red originality on the dial. Well-crafted case pleasant to wear and allows this large watch to be worn on a small wrist, proportions of the watch pleasant despite its 43mm diameter does not seem so big when worn. Negative points: +54sec/day on purchase => Seiko after-sales service => +45 sec/day my watchmaker confirms the drift and tells me that it is not waterproof!! While it is new! Unsigned crown, too bad no sapphire crystal, too bad

Seiko SRPB51K1 

When I received this SKX ordered this summer 2023 I remember the emotion caused when I received it. It was THE watch that I would have liked to have when I was younger when I wore festina that did not last very long on my wrist. The emotion quickly went down the same day when I saw that it was moving forward by 20 minutes per hour!!! After disassembly, changing the balance spring and adjustment, it is now around -15 / +15 seconds per day which suits me
Aesthetically there is nothing to complain about. The lume is excellent. It is super well proportioned even for my small wrist. It is a winner that would have deserved a permanent place in the Seiko collection


Mythical

I have had this Khaki for about 4 years. It is powered by a mechanical movement and is referenced 9415a. It dates from the 90s, and measures 33.4 x 41.2mm. It is a pretty Field that is well known today. Its only flaw: its water resistance: 3 atm… but since it is not a diver but a field!! It has a domed plexiglass. The movement is apparently an ETA2801 17 jewels.

My khaki is a survivor

I have owned the Gshock GW7900 1st for over 4 years and I am VERY satisfied with it. A true bodyguard for my automatic watches, it dresses my wrist for all situations that pose a risk to our beautiful (fragile) watches. Equipped with a battery recharged by the sun, it sets the time automatically by radio frequency. It displays the moon phases, tide coefficients and of course all the other classic features of a gShock: stopwatch ... of unfailing solidity: my wrist will break before this watch! An excellent substitute for those who love watches but want to protect their mechanical timepieces from extreme situations

My G-Shock is muscular

A very well-known and versatile design! The 39 mm is really very well proportioned and ideal for thin wrists!!! I really appreciated the unpacking of the watch which was qualitative, the adjustment of the bracelet is easy. 2 points of improvement: a space at the bracelet level and the traceability compared to the caliber: ETA or SW200. The watch seems very qualitative and I immediately wanted to have a second one. So yes it is a tribute watch but one that does not beat around the bush!! Do you like the Rolex submariner but you do not want or have the possibility to put 5 to 8k€ in a watch? This one is for me, by far the best since I consider it as a full-fledged automatic watch with its beating heart and not a simple extra, having the second role!

My ocean one 39 is perfectly proportioned

I discovered this watch in the movie Interstellar and when I saw it in real life I completely fell for it. I was amazed by the quality offered for a really reasonable price. I added a tropic-type strap (www.rubstrap.com) which fits it perfectly to replace its original strap which I found a little too rigid for my taste. For those who like Xavier have a chicken wrist 🤣, this Tropic is perfect in its dimensions. Indeed the largest end measures only 115mm compared to 130 on most models of the kind. The diameter 38 is perfectly adapted to a 16cm wrist. In short, I can only recommend this watch, a safe bet.

Hamilton Khaki Field Murph 38mm

Finally Hamilton has answered Interstellar fans. This version of the khaki field murph in 38 mm is really great with its short horns. The vintage side is still present with indexes and magnificent cathedral hands in a patinated color. The finish is superb and they added an anti-reflective coating to the domed sapphire crystal that did not exist on the 42 mm. A simple 3-hand watch typical of Field Watch but classy at the same time. The mirror polish and brushing are very effective and the matte black dial is discreet and versatile. The alligator-type strap is not bad even if I would have preferred it to be thinner. The stitching matches the indexes and hands. And no offense to some, there is no Morse code inscription on the second hand and that's a good thing! In this format, the most beautiful khaki field!

The Murph in 38mm!

Having a military watch from my grandfather Jaeger in renovation, a simple watch, 3 hands, very readable, tempted it more and more. A "military" watch ticked all the boxes and Hamilton is a good ambassador. The release of the Murph, but in 39, with its colors was perfect for me. Just the too shiny bracelet did not please me. I opted by chance on a very inexpensive "paratrooper" bracelet which is so suitable that it could have been delivered originally. Military watch and paratrooper bracelet what could be more logical.
