This watch belonged to my father. This object therefore has sentimental value. I like its very pronounced patina, its finesse, its design all in relief. The Movement is very reliable, quartz chrono with lightning seconds which contributes to its discreet charm. The bracelet is super comfortable and the watch is quite light, its low thickness like we don't make anymore contributes to its comfort. My everyday watch, modest, but rich in emotion and memories.

The father's toolwatch

This watch, one of the most controversial in the world of watchmaking, knows how to make people talk about it. It should not be taken too seriously. Its ambivalence and neo-vintage charm are its assets. It pays tribute to an icon in a beautiful way and keeps the best codes: beautiful proportions with a diameter of 40mm, a beautiful crown protector and an imposing big crown giving presence, very beautiful brushed horns, a 20mm lug width perfect for bracelet compatibility, a thin case thanks to a bubble back type case back, a beautiful aluminum bezel with beautiful font, 120 clicks. The dial is glossy black, the indexes are nipple style, the alignment is perfect. The mineral glass does not distort the depth and the black of the dial unlike a sapphire crystal with blue anti-reflective treatment. The lume is not great, like on a vintage tritium. The caliber nh35 is a tractor and deviates by 10 seconds per day. The bracelet has an end link that fits well on the horns and the case. The clasp is qualitative with safety buckle and nice engraved logo. I have other watches, Rolex, Omega and Cartier, but I like to wear this timepiece daily, water-resistant to 200m. I will not talk about price or price quality, but this modest watch is efficient, sober, versatile and provides a certain watchmaking emotion.

Diving into troubled waters

This Invicta Pro Diver reference 8926OB is my first automatic watch. It marks a turning point for me. With it, I put my finger in the gears and now I'm screwed, as Xavier, our host on this platform, might say.

I've had it for over a year. The motivations for my purchase were naively to have a watch whose battery I wouldn't have to worry about changing. When I saw it, I liked it and for its price, I told myself that I wouldn't regret it.

It was much later that I realized that I had a "tribute" piece on my wrist, thanks to a few discussions at the coffee machine. Claiming my naivety in the face of the invectives of a Rolex owner, not so much angry about my choice as about the fact that "I should have asked him for advice before doing this madness". So I learned a lot with this watch and found a friend!

I wear it a little more occasionally since the steel bracelet gave up on me. The clasp became fragile and the links between the lugs had become loose. I tried it with other bracelets, I wore it a lot with a leather strap and other essential Nato straps. Recently, a Milanese mesh that I find very nice and that rekindles the flame.

I love it as much as I hate it now that I have tried and own watches that surpass it in comfort, originality and above all less divisive ;) If I had to do it again, I would take this path again. For me, it is the G-Shock of automatic watches, I have done everything with it without a second thought, and it is still there, functional!
