One day I had this crazy idea that I could end up stranded on a desert island while I was enjoying a beautiful cruise on a dream liner. The ship sank in a few minutes, I was the only survivor and I floated and drifted for several days on a lifeboat to end up on a desert island.

Waterproof and robust to withstand this shipwreck, precise and reliable to be able to count on it in difficult survival conditions, dual time zone to evaluate its position on the globe by comparing itself to the sun (second time zone - yellow hand - set to the departure location to know what time it is at home and main time zone set to the arrival location to have the local time once there).
A particularly appreciable comfort when worn as in terms of readability day and night, impeccable finishes, a real perceived quality, a very appreciable sobriety that makes it discreet, it is always appreciable in these times.
Everything is designed in this watch to offer the owner a durable product that can be trusted everywhere and all the time. And what's more, it is beautiful!
Its only flaw I find, for a watch that does everything, the lack of protection of the crown. Will the evolutions of this model equip it with a crown protector without distorting the TUDOR Black Bay style?....

What if I had to keep just one?...

It is a watch whose history and style fascinated me as soon as it was announced that it would be reissued in the second half of 2022. As an aviation enthusiast and a great fan of the brand, it aroused an almost inexplicable attraction in me. Its natural elegance, its functionalities linked to its "tool" bezel, its presence on the wrist, make it for me the little French "Navitimer". A noble and robust caliber, the Valjoux 7750, a mostly mirror-polished case finish, a bracelet with total comfort, putting it on the wrist is every time a pleasure, a beautiful emotion and a particular satisfaction. And what's more, it runs superbly with a daily drift of around +7s/d.

More than a watch, a real navigation instrument

I purchased this watch at the very beginning of 2023 because I wanted an elegant, understated and robust daily watch. Quite classic in style at first glance, it actually reveals a lot of modernity in its details. Quite different from the brand's very first "Alpinists", it remains for me the most elegant in the collection. Its two crowns at 3 and 4 o'clock have two different functions, one for winding and setting the time, the other for operating the compass cleverly integrated into the bi-directional internal bezel. Displaying very good technical specifications such as its water resistance to 200m, its 6R35 caliber ensures very good precision with very low daily drift for a watch in this price range. Its 39mm case, almost entirely mirror polished, gives it a beautiful elegance. Finally, its very beautiful iced brown dial displays superb reflections in natural light, helped by magnificent "cathedral" hands and gold indexes. All of this forms a very beautiful marriage, sober and chic, ideal for everyday use.

Equally at home hiking or in a dressy evening.

This little Japanese diver had been catching my eye for a long time. This limited edition version with a sunray blue and smoked dial and gold touches finally convinced me in the summer of 2022. Small? Not so much because it is almost 42mm in diameter but on the wrist it sits perfectly and seems much smaller. Very controlled thickness thanks to a flat sapphire crystal and a manufacture movement, water-resistant to 200m, it is its sporty and elegant ambivalence, especially in this limited blue/gold version that makes it so cute and endearing. Its weak point remaining its original bracelet (for this price range, we will easily forgive it), I pushed the vice to equip it with a very pretty jubilee bracelet from Strapcode to match the steel/gold style. The icing on the cake, the caliber adjustment shows a daily drift of -2/+2s/day for a watch bought for around €300. Crazy!

A diver with the look of a luxury watch

I literally fell in love with this steel/gold version on a black dial of this Longines Hydroconquest that needs no introduction. At 41mm in diameter, it is the happy medium between a sports watch and a dress watch. At less than 12mm thick, it almost looks like a skindiver and its steel/PVD GOLD finish makes it sublime when worn as a tuxedo. In-house caliber L888 derived from ETA, it displays a drift depending on use between 0 and +2s/day, a real precision weapon for less than €1300 when I bought it. Very comfortable despite this all-metal version, its bracelet is a marvel of softness. To wear and contemplate without moderation, it should be reimbursed by social security so much it does good for morale!

My diver for the big nights.

It is an elegant and very typical motorsport watch as its name easily suggests. It offers a very nice presence on the wrist thanks to its assertive style, its steel bezel, but also its thickness (17mm) and its relatively high mass (187grs). It is felt when worn but remains no less comfortable thanks to a very beautiful jubilee bracelet and a contained diameter of 40mm. Equipped with the famous and noble Valjoux 7750 caliber, its mechanics are reliable and robust, offering it a daily drift of approximately +7 s/d. All these characteristics make it a watch that I enjoy wearing and contemplating regularly. It has a special place in my collection because it is the first mechanical chronograph that I acquired.
