In leather, we would happily associate it with a tweed jacket, flannel pants, elegant but sporty. An iconic Seiko, which reinvents itself thanks to the color of its dial. Its strong points: the contained diameter, the waterproofness of course, the versatility, the slightly baroque hands, the (f)utile complication compass. Points for improvement: it would deserve to be thinner (like all watches), the cyclops, the compass crown that does not lock, the very curved folding clasp not suitable for a large wrist.

An off-roader with style

The Longines Legend Diver is a model that meets a simple need: which diver to choose if you don't like the "classic" design with a large external rotating bezel of pure and hard divers. The super compressor case allows you to answer this dilemma by replacing this bezel with a flange that fits into the case as a continuation of the dial. This means you almost don't realize that it's a diver, except for the presence of two crowns. Not being a fan of tool or professional watches, this one allows me to integrate an elegant diver into my collection. Its strong points: the style of the Longines logo and the Automatic font, the discreet luminova, the magnificent flat glass. Points to improve: a notched flange would be perfect to set it properly at 12 o'clock, the date is not mandatory, it deserves a more suitable steel bracelet than the brand's mesh. Having tried the steel version of the Legend Diver at a distributor, I fell in love with this atypical design for a diver. Two crowns and an internal rotating bezel, which differentiates it from the many Submariner clones on the market. Then, I came across this same version in bronze, with a black-green dial. Immediately, it reminded me of the old diving suits that fascinated me so much. I was celebrating my 30th birthday, and this was the one I needed. I can't currently evaluate the quality of the straps provided (brown leather and green nato).

Atypical diver, but a classic...

The watch that marks my move 700km away from my family, my friends. The same model as my best friend. The watch that will always remind me of my change of life for the ocean. The Legend Diver lives up to its name.
A legendary watch, with an iconic design and whose codes have changed very little between the original and its recent reissues.
The one I bought, which is the reference prior to the current one, is the one that convinces best in this not easy exercise of bringing a watch from yesteryear up to date: slightly faded cream indices, domed sapphire crystal and subtle Milanese mesh bracelet contribute to a resolutely vintage aesthetic, all in a very practical 36mm package that still offers presence.
Many brands are trying their hand at neo-vintage these days, but few have succeeded as well as Longines with this watch!
