I got to know Alain Marhic and his story, before going deeper into the brand's models. However, what I like most about March Lab, beyond the style of its pieces, is the whole universe that its founder has managed to instill, with great sincerity. I chose the AM2 because it takes up the deliciously seventies shapes of its inspiration: the Ford Mustang Fastback, notably driven by Seeve McQueen in Bullit. Based on this premise, it was perfectly logical that I chose it with the famous green dial, not only taking up the dress of this 68 Mustang but also March's favorite color, Alain's color! Finally, it uses the La Joux-Perret G100 movement and its 68 hours of power reserve. A watch that breaks the codes and can be worn with constantly renewed pleasure!

The AM2, an unclassifiable watch: Elegant and cool at the same time

Having had the ZRC GF reissue first version launched in 2015 (but also the original vintage models), this reissue 38 erases the small defects (in my eyes of course) that its elder of June 2015 could have, namely the excessive weight in its steel version (ideal however on rubber), the diameter slightly too large for my taste. It goes even further by taking up the codes of the vintage model with a deliciously vintage dial literature (dialiciously!), a domed sapphire perfectly taking up the appearance of plexi, an ideal diameter of 39 mm (and not 38 as its name suggests), a lighter bracelet with very sixties charm sounds, a more notched bezel (like the original) in ceramic and a whole bunch of very appreciable little details. Result: a robust tool with a very vintage look with perfect proportions for me!

The best of both worlds between modern and vintage

The brand March LA.B was created in 2011 following the meeting of Alain Marhic, based in Biarritz, and J&eacute;r&ocirc;me Mage, based in Los Angeles. The brand was born thanks to Joseph Chatel, a long-time friend and Business Angel of the project. We find in this brand an omnipresent green signature on small details such as the stitching as well as the return of the bracelets; on automatic models, the transparent case back; on the date window, the number 3.
The name of this premium watch brand is the union of MARCH and LA.B. MARCH or Mars in French is a symbolic month for the founders (among others the month of birth of Alain Marhic). LA.B, the fusion of the historical heritage of Biarritz and the modernity of Los Angeles. In this architectural sense, they are very different, but they come together on one point: lifestyle, because they are linked to the ocean and the rhythm of surfing.
It is this DNA that has been transmitted to these shaped watches inspired by the 70s, combining classicism and modernity. The brand offers French watches with raw elegance whose simplicity provides the refinement of today's urban dandy. March LA.B slim Bronze March 2023 limited 99 pieces. I love this watch for its more contained format in 34mm, the current appearance of bronze with little oxidation, chic but less flashy than gold, and which goes better on a light skin like mine, as well as its magnificent sunray khaki green dial but the reflections are golden and not green. It is splendid in the light. Finally the new gold indexes sublimate the whole, with finally inside its 68-hour Swiss mechanism assembled in France

AM2 Slim Bronze

March LA B, a fairly confidential watch brand at the time I bought this watch directly on rue Charlot, their first boutique. At the time, it was not primarily attractive for its design and the very 70s universe (retro objects, body-built Mustang Shelby, sofas that Henri Verneuil's films would not disown). In short, a whole shopping experience, as they say in good maketeux. After this moment with Mr Marhic himself, what's left? A few negative points of reliability quickly resolved, but above all a beautiful emotion when I put it on my wrist. Attention to detail: the shape of the case, the green date in "march" on a black disc (discreet), screw-down crown (not on the new AM2s) well worked. Clearly, we pay for the visual rendering. Ronda quartz caliber. At least I had Swiss before its time. Of course, "made in France" on a two-tone black dial. A brand that I have been following for almost 10 years. Certainly a bit expensive in recent years compared to the calibers on board but with the G100 we are entering a new era. If you are looking for a strong and distinctive design, these watches are made for you.

The March of Time

March-Lab a French brand that for me represents elegance and purity. This brand has a story that touches me too. I didn't hesitate for long to know that I needed this timepiece.
Between the bronze that gives it life, the green dial that varies depending on the light (see photos, normally you can see the change). I specify that the bracelet is not original "J.B"
It is like a second skin, light, elegant, sporty... I really enjoy looking at it at the slightest change of light, it has everything of a great one, it probably lacks another more reliable caliber in my opinion.
