I found this pretty watch at the antique dealer next door and I fell for it. It wasn't working but after a complete overhaul it works very well but is not very precise (I don't blame the watchmaker because he usually sets them quite well). It's a Cupillard 256 inside. The case is magnificent, 34mm gold plated with incredible finishes. And the dial, wow!! The dauphine hands and applied indexes reflect the light almost like Grand Seiko. The outline appears to be in black lacquer, a very deep black and shiny in the light. It matches super well with the interior which is in relief with patterns that change depending on the light, it is really very beautiful. I am impressed by the level of the watch knowing that it was for the average man, how well the French worked in those years!!
