A 1969 Omega Constellation in 18k gold! Where this watch is simply incredible in my opinion is on its bracelet! The work done on it is simply phenomenal! A real nugget, a jewel in its own right! I can't see myself parting with it... It will age even more with me!

Let me introduce you to my Omega Seamaster reference 166.0204 from 1979. This is without a doubt one of the most wearable watches in my collection. Featuring a 38mm stainless steel case and a case back with its iconic seahorse, it combines comfort and vintage sophistication with disconcerting ease. Omega Seamaster: Dial Unique Isbank 

As previously posted on another review of my vintage Yema, I found this Omega Seamaster 30 manual winding on the Belgian site Sometimes (really excellent), it is from 1964 (so my age).
It has a manual caliber 286 and the ref: 135-003. Movement ref: 21069599.
It is gold plated and has a diameter of 34 mm excluding crown.

The watch (with my Yema too) from my sixtieth birthday.

This Omega Seamaster 300 is my very first mechanical watch and I acquired it in 2002 to mark a turning point in my professional career. A fan of James Bond at the time, I discovered the Seamaster on Pearce Brosnan's wrist in the film Golden Eyes. It must be said that the marketing did its job well, this watch is well highlighted and it makes me wonder about this watch that I find beautiful and that I did not know. I am a good customer, it embodies through Bond's stunts, the idea that I had of the adventurer's watch: readable, robust, waterproof, precise... and beautiful in a tuxedo of course.

At the time there were very few ways to find out about the collections, we did however have the possibility of ordering online, or of picking up in store, the brands' catalogs. The Omega catalog contained little technical data on the models but good quality photos. I quickly identified a version of the Seamaster 300 that was much more attractive to me than Bond's... the black dial version named Sir Peter Blake... magnificent!

Determined to find out more about this watch, I searched the internet and came across the blog of the TicTac addict who had posted a superb review of this model, the ref. 2254.50.00. I was doomed, and after several visits to ADs, testing the watch and a lot of time spent dreaming about it, I ended up buying it in a store. It would not leave my wrist for almost 20 years. I wore it every day, in all circumstances, in the water, in the sand, while I was tinkering or playing sports... but also in a suit... I never had any problems with it, a service at Omega every 7/8 years and it was good to go.

What I particularly like about this watch, and which I have never tired of, is its dial. Very dark matte gray textured with discreet matte black wavelets and with beautiful oversized uncircled and very luminescent indexes. Their size and shape are reminiscent of those of some vintage Seamasters like the ref. 165.024. The enormous triangle at 12 o'clock gives it a unique look and recalls that of the ref. 565.007. The date window is very well integrated, with white numbers on a black background.

The "lance" type hands are very large and very luminescent as well, a shape that was found among others on the ref. 165.024 in any case for the hour hand. In short, a watch that I would describe as well inspired by the iconic Seamaster models but with its own personality. I should point out that at the time of purchase, I had no idea of the history of the Seamaster and had never seen any vintage models. It was only recently that I found these family ties in the indexes and hands.

The finishes of the case are top-notch for a watch of this price, significantly lower than that of a Sub at the time. There is brushed on the sides of the case, sandblasted and polished on the lyre lugs. The screwed back is engraved with a beautiful logo and wavelets that are supposed to make the watch less slippery on the arm once in the water... and that is indeed the effect felt. The watch is relatively thin at 12 mm and sits perfectly on the wrist. Its size is reasonable with a diameter close to 40 mm excluding the crown and a lug to lug of 48 mm. A size that I find very acceptable for a so-called diving watch.

The metal bracelet is however well dated 2000s with a folding clasp of good quality but too wide for my taste which has become thinner over time. I have therefore played around with the bracelets quite a bit and for several months I have only worn it on a black leather one from ABP which, in my opinion, suits it perfectly. This configuration has rekindled my passion for this watch and I like to wear it regularly, observing the marks of time on its case which has only been polished once, during its first revision. I particularly like to admire its dial and be amazed by the precision it still demonstrates after so many years.

My first mechanical watch, which became my GADA

Superb vintage automatic watch from the OMEGA brand from 1958, Seamaster model reference 2828, with caliber 470. 
The diameter of the watch is 33 mm, it has its original steel bracelet. 
It is an elegant watch that can be worn on any occasion except sporty of course. 
Point to emphasize: The watch seems to have been polished hence its new appearance and the dial has an exceptional resistance to the sun. 



Omega

Here is a small, unpretentious piece, but with a beautiful presence on the wrist. A very flat skin diver type case with a diameter of 34mm, a nicely domed plexiglass and above all a military dial that I love. It is so easy to wear with a Nato, a cordura or this vintage steel bracelet that fits it like a glove. In short, you will have understood, no need to spend a fortune to please yourself and wear a piece that you do not come across on every street corner.

This 1950 seamaster with bumper caliber is really super elegant with its small diameter and its gold plating (a little tired)! I am totally a fan of this watch!!! This watch really made me love the Omega brand even more!! Special mention to the Watcharch bracelet which gives it even more this vintage look!

Over 70 years of elegance

This OMEGA SEAMASTER from the 70s embodies timelessness and watchmaking finesse. Elegant and discreet, it is suitable for all occasions, whether it is a formal event or a more casual outing. OMEGA SEAMASTER VINTAGE

What could be simpler than a 3-hand watch with a white dial? However, if the quality is not there, even a watch without complications can quickly become unpleasant. With an OMEGA, the risk is greatly reduced. This Omega Seamaster is no exception. It is a Seamaster 14704-3-SC from 1960. I have owned this watch for about thirty years, and it is always ready to tell me the time; even after months, sometimes years of sleep. The self-winding 591 caliber, 20 jewels, 19,800 vibrations and 48 hours of power reserve, works perfectly, and this without any maintenance. The 34 mm case with a leather strap makes the watch seem a little too small on my 18 cm wrist. This is the reason why I do not wear it often. But I think I'll find him a 60s Omega metal bracelet, because I know that with this type of bracelet, watches look bigger on my wrist. So here is a small, simple, unpretentious, but faithful and high quality watch, which makes me perfectly happy when I wear it!

Let's not miss out on the simple things

Vintage Omega from the 70s. It is just incredible, gold plated, 70s, manual winding, ostrich strap.

Omega Vintage 

There has to be a first for everything.. this Omega was my first gold purchase. Far from the mafia charisma of a Tony Soprano-style gold Day Date, this little 1950s granny pleases me with its relative discretion. It could almost be forgotten on the wrist thanks to its contained diameter and its lightness. Its caliber still runs perfectly even after 70 years of activity.
