What fate would this watch have had without the James Bond of my childhood, aka Pierce Brosnan? The question is not quickly answered. Beyond its Bondesqueness, this watch has many qualities. Let's start with the case: well balanced for a 41mm with a record thickness of less than 11.5mm, its beautiful lyre lugs, and its polished/brushed alternation. The case sits very well even on a small wrist thanks to its 47.5mm horn to horn. The helium "wart" will be debated, personally it does not bother me more than that. Very precise and very reliable COSC movement. Dial with discreet wavelets, visible from certain angles with blue/gray reflections of the most beautiful effect. Vintage-style painted indexes. Bezel with a deliciously old-fashioned font. Very distinctive and qualitative bracelet. A few flaws: the bracelet that doesn't get thinner and is a bit clumsy, a very slippery bezel made for desk divers, and one or two mm too much in diameter for my taste. This watch remains within fairly affordable budgets at around €2,500, especially compared to its obvious competitor, the 14060. Another important feature: it is visually very changeable depending on the light of day: depending on whether the light is reflected in the hands and in terms of dial color (from intense blue to cold). I can't wait to see the insert develop a patina...
