My first low-budget automatic watch, around 250 euros, some will leave a watch with an open heart but I always find it magnificent to see its heart beating. The drift seems more than correct to me (better than my skx), just its original bracelet which was of poor quality. I have had it for 8 years, it accompanied me to my wedding, on vacation ... in short everywhere and I care much more about this watch than some of my more expensive and better known collection! The watch that made me enter watchmaking and learn about this passion.

Orient Esteem 

The Orient brand was created in 1951 by Shogoro Yoshida in Japan. It all began in 1901 when the founder opened a watch boutique in the Ueno commercial district of Tokyo. For 50 years, it was able to take advantage of an expanding market and expand to the point of offering its own models. It was only in 1950 that he founded the &ldquo;Tama Keiki Co&rdquo; factory in the town of Hino. The original name of the company was quickly changed to accompany the release of their first model, the Orient Star, in 1951.

I find this watch quite classy and pleasant to wear. The bottom of the watch is transparent and lets you see part of the movement. The calendar is very well done. Nice watch at a nice price. I recommend this watch to people with limited means. For my part, I will continue to buy this brand

Nice watch

This watch has a mirror-polished steel case, except for the handles which are brushed. The black dial is extremely full, perhaps too much, since it offers, in addition to the time, the date, the day of the week and a day/night indicator. The caseback is full. The crown is, itself, logoed. In an original way, the only readable numbers are the 4, the 8 and the 12. Although having a dial that is a little too busy, the main defects of this watch are the original bracelet and especially the movement. Indeed, the latter is devoid of stop-seconds and manual winding, which is really regrettable.

Producer II

This watch has a mirror-polished steel case. The dial is particularly attractive and gives the timepiece a resolutely dressed character with its Roman numerals, blued hands and of course its open heart. The domed glass enhances this already superb model. The crown has the merit of being logoed. For some, the diameter of the case will be an obstacle, especially for a dress watch, but not for me. The only small downside is the mineral glass, but honestly, in this price range there is nothing scandalous.

Envoy

A small orient not very well known but which is rather pretty. Golden hands and indexes on a very large white dial, I find it very attractive. a function allows you to know the dates of the days of the week by setting the year to the current month. it is a manual function usable until 2043. then, a change of disk is possible according to the instructions provided with my watch. a little gadget but these two dials at 12 and 6 o'clock integrate well and bring a very original touch. for me it is a beautiful aesthetic success.
