If you're looking for a watch that combines family heritage, local craftsmanship, and alternative design, then this creation by Saner will delight you. More than just a watch, it reflects a philosophy: that of a job well done and respect for watchmaking and family traditions. The roots of Saner watches are inseparable from the family workshop PhSaner SA, well-known for assembling mechanical movements for over 50 years. Watchmaking is a message, and this Saner Heart in Light is the one initiated by Robin Saner, the 3rd of the name… ▶️ An asymmetrical case with a bold design The case of this watch leaves no one indifferent. Its asymmetry, far from being a simple stylistic effect, reflects genuine ergonomic research. This bold choice won't please everyone, but it reinforces the watch's strong identity and its desire to challenge established codes. At 3 o'clock, a metal plate evokes those found on hand-assembled internal combustion engines in the automotive industry, a subtle reference to the "One Man - One Engine" concept well known at Mercedes AMG and Aston Martin. Another original feature: the movable lugs at 6 o'clock, like those on a ZRC Grands Fonds, which ensure optimal comfort on any wrist, and a particularly effective crown protector. This choice demonstrates Saner's expertise and commitment to creating a watch that is as pleasant to wear as it is intriguing to look at. ▶️ A dial of captivating depth At first glance, the dial is striking. Its unique geometry, intricate reliefs, and play of textures are architecturally striking from every angle. The four cardinal points illustrated by the indexes at 12 and 6 o'clock, complemented by an open heart and the applied Saner logo, allow us to imagine the four pillars of the family. The Saner coat of arms, featuring a beating and soaring heart, sits proudly on this geometrically profound dial, a testament to the distinctiveness of its heritage. The most striking element is undoubtedly the crimson red color, omnipresent in the details. It undoubtedly evokes the heart, a symbol of passion and emotion, and echoes the tribute paid to the Saner family's grandfather with the "Heart in Light" concept. Each element of the dial stands out with its own individuality, reinforcing the unique personality of this watch. Other colors are available, including an electric blue and an organic green, both enhanced by a sparkling sunburst treatment. An exceptional watch must be readable in all circumstances, and this model makes no compromises in this regard. The contrast between the dial and the white flange gives it a refined "Tuxedo" look, while ensuring optimal clarity. ▶️ Chronometer-certified precision Mechanically, this piece is powered by a COSC-certified movement, the Soprod Newton BV, oscillating at 28,800 vibrations per second (4 Hz). The choice of finishes was, unsurprisingly, Top-grade, confirming the Saner family's DNA of fine craftsmanship. The original Top-grade precision of -4/+4 seconds per day is improved by an additional adjustment, allowing all Saner watches to be chronometer-certified by the "Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute". ▶️ A unique steel bracelet and a fabric alternative The bracelet plays an essential role in a watch's identity, and this one is no exception. Made of steel, it features an original architecture that reinforces the model's raw, industrial look. Its unique design ensures a strong presence on the wrist without sacrificing comfort. For those looking for a more flexible and lightweight alternative, a black fabric strap with stitching in the same color as the dial is also available. ▶️ A watch with a strong character This watch is much more than a simple accessory: it's a statement. A declaration of love for artisanal watchmaking, authenticity, and a job well done. Its bold design won't suit everyone, but that's precisely what makes it so strong. It's aimed at enthusiasts looking for a piece with a true personality, far removed from predictable standards. Beyond its distinctive aesthetic, it embodies a heritage and values passed down from generation to generation. Every detail tells a story, every finish testifies to precious craftsmanship. Saner doesn't seek to create consensus, but to please those who recognize the soul and uniqueness of this watch. And therein lies its charm. ▶️ The Saner Heart in Light Red is available for CHF 2,700 (on a fabric strap) directly on the brand's website. The steel version retails for CHF 2,800. At this high price, we would have liked this Heart in Light to come with both straps. The Saner Heart in Light is available in five different dial colors (red, green, silver, blue, and black) in a limited edition of 50 pieces per color. The black dial version is available with a steel case and black PVD on a fabric strap only, and the blue version combines steel and PVD.
