The must-have Macro Loupe for all watch lovers

It's a Zenith. It's a Movado!!! I was looking for a watch from my birth year. From my research on several websites, it appears that from 1969 to the early 1980s, Zenith and Movado were part of a conglomerate. As a result, there were "collaborations" and movement sharing. With a cousin shape and a size of 37mm or 34mm without the crown, it is powered by an automatic Zenith caliber, the 2572PC.
Its plexiglass crystal is as if embedded in the case (see photo for a better understanding) and it has a blue dial, in keeping with today's fashion. In short, a piece that I won't find on every wrist. It is atypical, vintage and modern at the same time, and its finishes are to die for. To this day, for its 50th anniversary, it is as beautiful as the first day. And I get a Zenith for the price of a Movado!

Magnificent vintage from 1974!

My first real mechanical watch! Purchase considered after many comparisons for the purchase of a first watch. My criteria were the price, a possible originality and especially a diver. (the 1000 M of waterproofness was not the desired goal, but they also characterize the watch). The regulator immediately seduced me.
Bought second-hand from a private individual in full set (And with a certain apprehension), putting it on the wrist was a shock because this watch is so light and comfortable, all because of the titanium. Add to that the regulator function which is quite rare and which always has its little effect on people who want to read the time on the sly on your watch!, the helium valve, the 1000 m and this beautiful black and red bezel are also pleasant details. We must add an irreproachable manufacturing quality, In addition Oris is a brand with a history, serious and relatively accessible. In short, it remains my watch that I wear most often and the only one with a bearable metal bracelet. Almost a tool watch but be careful, titanium is soft.

My first! Original and robust

The Zenith brand was created in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot in Le Locle, Switzerland. In order to save these calibers from destruction, Charles Vermot hid cams, cutting tools, presses and machines, while recording the production process in a small notebook, secretly hoping for the return of mechanical movements. It was only nine years later that Zenith returned to the hands of Swiss investors who revived the brand's mechanical movements such as the El Primero.

You belonged to my grandfather.

Here you are back to life after so much time at a standstill.

You are almost 75 years old! What a pleasure to have you on my wrist.

I had to bring you back to life. I changed your glass. You were missing an index at 2 o'clock and my watchmaker worked miracles by re-cutting a hand.

The overhaul of your magnificent 106-50-6 manufacture movement was a formality. You were still running after all. A sleeping beauty.

Your dial remains in its original condition. A patina that testifies to your long life.

Your horn is slightly twisted but I love you like that.

A light polishing revealed a magnificent pink gold and not yellow. A splendor.

Your dauphine hands are splendid.

Here you are again among us. I am proud to wear you on my wrist.



Zenith or 60s. A resurrection after 50 years in the drawer

A very cute ZENITH from the 50s, with a very pretty patina of the dial chiseled by time. 34 mm case with rather original horns, a movement that works perfectly. A great classic, but of very good quality. We are rarely disappointed when we buy this kind of vintage.

In search of times gone by

Here is a small ZENITH (34 mm) from the 50s, that I have had for over 30 years now.
It is a watch that could not be more classic, but with nice lugs.
I do not understand, however, the inflation that there is on these models, under the pretext that it is a known brand.
OK, it is reliable, it works well, and I am very happy with it. I had also bought another one in the process (the same, but gold plated and large second hand).....But hey, there are plenty of small classic watches from less renowned brands that do the job just as well, and are worthy of interest.
If mine were for sale today, I think I would pass my way. After all, it is only my opinion, and I totally respect those who are looking for a ZENITH like this one and are ready to pay the price.
But for me, there are so many little unknown vintage gems to discover...
