The case It's quite unusual, and that's what you immediately notice: the crown is located at 12 o'clock. It's wide enough to be easily handled, and fits into the first link of the bracelet, which thus provides a protective role. The hexagonal case, in 316L stainless steel, benefits from an alternation of polished or brushed finishes. This brings out the aggressive character of its very marked lines towards the horns, offset by softer curves on the sides, which are polished. The case is topped with a steel bezel with a ceramic insert. This, as with any diving watch, turns unidirectionally, here in 60 clicks. It benefits from a numbering every 10 minutes and more marked indexes up to 20 minutes, the one located at noon being luminescent. The glass is a sapphire crystal dome, treated with a double anti-reflective layer on its inner side. The feel is quite exceptional and clearly goes in the direction of the announced quality, the reading of the time being possible whatever the angle of the light source, which is not always the case with domed glasses. It can be added that this one presents bluish reflections depending on the viewing angle. The dial The dial of the Mille Mer is a jewel! The indexes go up towards the flange, thus offering more space on the dial. They have been treated with Superluminova X1, the desired effect is there: it impresses! The hands are quite wide (and benefit from a beautiful surface of Superluminova) for effective readability. The detail that we cannot ignore is obviously the internal date magnifier. It is a unique element, and I who generally tend to avoid magnifying glasses, I must say that this one is of the most beautiful effect. Its integration is perfect, and (this is very personal) I find that it gives even more character to the Mille Mer. The bracelet If the bracelet were ordinary on an exceptional watch, that would be the only thing that would be remembered. For the Mille Mer, this is clearly not the case, and I was very pleasantly surprised when I was able to see it in person. To begin with, and even if once again this is very personal, I find it magnificent! The central link as well as the internal facets are polished, while the exterior is brushed. It is beautiful! Its width at the lugs is 24mm, while that at the buckle operates a dizzying reduction to 16mm. This is a big gap that gives it both undeniable comfort and a visual lightness that compensates for the large dimensions of the case. This bracelet benefits from innovations that are still rare on models in this price segment: a ratchet buckle and quick pumps with a button. These will allow you to mount another bracelet on the first fixed links, as for the buckle, it offers the possibility of adjusting the dimensions of the bracelet at any time, and without tools. On the wrist I can be accused of exaggerating a bit on the superlatives, but there is reason to! The Mille Mer, despite its weight and non-negligible dimensions, is really extremely comfortable to wear. I must also say that with one exception, all my other watches equipped with a steel bracelet tended to move and turn, as long as the bracelet was not very (or too) tight. This is not the case with the Mille Mer, whose balance has been carefully designed, so that it maintains its position without ever becoming annoying. Its thickness could hinder shirt sleeves that are a little too tight, as far as I am concerned I did the test and did not encounter this problem, but perhaps I was lucky. In any case, despite being an extreme diver, the Mille Mer knows how to be a jewel and will perfectly complement a suit or a more formal outfit. Conclusion To the extent that attention seems to have been paid to the smallest detail, that the quality seems to be there in every way, and that in addition the Mille Mer presents a unique identity that is recognizable from afar, I consider that it can be described as an exceptional watch. It will not please everyone due to its divisive design, but everyone I have been able to present it to has been absolutely ecstatic! This is the first born of the young Bohen brand, a brand that will have to be followed closely!
