Steve McQueen's German chronograph... I'm talking of course about the 417 ES from Hanhart. The watch I own has the little particularity of having a Flyback movement, allowing a return in flight of the chrono function. Possessing a 30-minute counter, and a counter for the seconds, this panda chrono has a hell of a look. 
It also has a fluted bezel (a bit like the Oris pointer date) but this one is rotating and marked with a small red line. 
The Hanhart bracelet does not have micro adjustments but is very qualitative.

Mythic Robust Class

I like limited editions and Baltic is accustomed to this. This Baltic x A collected man is a variant of the MR01, one of the most popular models by the Baltic brand.

However, I did not like the Breguet numerals, this Baltic uses Arabic numerals located in a sector.
Another sector is present for the minutes, divided into 5 minutes, and each minute is subdivided into 10 seconds. This minute sector is quite cluttered. The center of the dial, stamped Baltic, is grained and is partly eaten by a small second at 7:30. The graining matches the sunray present in the sectors. It looks very good.

Note the case back revealing the micro-rotor caliber, which is well decorated for the price (700 euros in total).

As with the other cases, Baltic bracelets can be put on this watch, the rice grain bracelet going very well with it.

A SUCCESSFUL limited edition

I recently owned the Vulcain Skindiver, I think I was matrixed by some youtubers... But rightly so, since I've been interested in watches, Oris has always made me want one... The Oris Diver 65 and the Vulcain Skindiver have many similarities, a similar design, Swiss made, a similar price range... Yes, but I've never taken the plunge for an Oris and their recent price increase leaves me doubtful... 

Let's get back to the Vulcain, it alternates different finishes, polished, brushed, chamfered... Its big plus is its contained dimensions, 38mm, 44mm from lug to lug as well as its blue dial with vertical grooves that plays perfectly with the light.

Its small negative point is the lack of a steel bracelet... being a big fan of this type of bracelet. For now she is dressed in the Baltic rice grain which I find suits her very well (but the end link is not 100% suitable).

Finished to perfection

The black bay pro... A watch loved when it came out, many were skeptical about its thickness, but no. So yes, it is thick, despite all the comfort on the wrist is present and its thickness disappears as you wear it.

I bought it to have the GMT function, I live in Canada while being French. Also, it closes the chapter of years of study.

I had it on his nato, a nato of good quality but not being a fan of nato, I had to buy a few other bracelets. I recommend the president bracelet from Uncle strap, very comfortable with its short links, but without T-fit.
I also recommend the port Louis bracelet from Avel and Men, the yellow is identical.

A watch full of personality

My Longines Spirit titanium 40mm is a special watch for me. It is my engagement watch. The Longines is full of details, between the railroad including diamonds on which the second hand sits perfectly. But also, magnificent gold applied indices. As for the case, Longines alternates polymirror and brushed with the presence of well-marked chamfers. Note the presence of a large crown accentuating the aviation side of the watch.

The level of finish is impeccable and rivals its competitors at this price point... Yes, I'm looking at you Tudor.

I find the titanium very successful, there is no play on the titanium bracelet offering quick pumps.
The watch is COSC certified and alternates at 3Hz extending the power reserve to 72 hours.

Titanium Balance

Sinn, a German brand known without being too well-known, that's what I like. The Sinn 556 is the entry-level watch and has 4 references, mine, the 556A, has 4 Arabic numerals 3,6,9 and 12 with a white second hand.
This Sinn exudes the tool watch, it is entirely brushed, easy to read, water-resistant to 200m, a crown protector and finally a ghost date that sticks perfectly to the watch.
Its only "non-tool" side is the transparent case back revealing the SW-200. Mine has a gold rotor that is now silver.
For its price, you get what you pay for.

In the end, making a simple watch is not easy, Sinn has succeeded with this 556A.

A very successful tool watch

The HMS 003 is a range released in 2023 from Baltic, following the HMS 001 and 002 (surprising right?), the 003 reduces the watch to 36.5mm. So is it too small? No for my 17cm wrist, which is within the norm... The watch comes with a superbly crafted dial for the price of 400 euros. The dial links path, sector dial and a grained central part, oh yes... the indexes are applied and not painted.

In short... the dial plays a central role on the watch and shows in natural light its complexity but also its success.

Note that the flat link bracelet goes very well with this watch.

A superbly crafted dial

The Baltic Aquascaphe dual crown... This reference was released with 3 models where I hesitated to take the plunge. However, I bought this Baltic 5th anniversary the day it was released, it is a limited edition of 200 copies sold during the day.

It has marked features of the 80s with a fairly marked green and purple, distancing itself from the usual sobriety of the Baltic. The watch also came with two tropical bracelets, the green suits it much better.
It is a fun watch to wear in the summer, less fun to wear in other seasons, in fact it is hard to match it with warmer clothes.

Refocusing my collection on smaller diameters, the internal bezel makes the watch bigger than it is (39mm), in fact, the internal bezel enlarges the opening compared to an aquascaphe.

Baltic's 5th anniversary

This watch represents a part of Yema in recent years. This watch, with a diameter of 39mm was offered on Yema's first Kickstarter. It is a limited edition of 1948 copies, the date of the founding of the house.

This is the only bronze watch I have had. It is one of the particularities that I liked, another being the magnificent dial, which for me is the biggest asset of this watch.

Recently, Yema re-proposes a boosted version of this watch. A more accomplished case (presence of chamfer for example), their manufacture caliber (against the yema 1000 here (no problem with the movement)), a Lollipop hand vs a spade hand, and finally a transparent back against a solid back on the first version.

I also presented this watch on my Youtube channel LaPauseMontre; I allow myself to preach for my parish :-). This video was presented a few weeks before the announcement of the new Yema maubydick, since then I no longer had that spark when I saw it, while I had it... Me and others had trouble understanding how THE watch presenting the new caliber was an almost exact copy of this Yema which had worked very well.

The combo with the navy bracelet is I find the combo that suited it best, special mention all the same to military canvas.

Today, without this spark, I resigned myself to selling it, and I did it without financial loss, despite everything with a little bitter taste in my mouth. I think I will take the new one again one day, still in blue.

Yema Revival

This is a particularly elegant pilot's watch.
I like the story it tells. It reminds us that at the beginning of the 20th century, aviation pioneers wore Longines. This is only part of Longines' rich, almost bicentennial history.

Technically, it has good specifications considering its price.
It offers beautiful finishes alternating between brushed and polished.
The assembly is impeccable.
The crown is imposing, confirming the pilot's watch side.
The sunray blue dial is detailed.
The indexes are applied and luminescent.
The brand logo and the 5 stars are also applied.
These 5 stars mean that this is a model that has benefited from particular attention to chronometric precision. Longines has been using them for a long time.
Even the railway is well worked with recesses to make room for the small diamond at each hour.
The case back is quite ordinary.

As for the movement, it is efficient and certified as a chronometer by the COSC.
It is the L888.4, oscillating at 25,200 vibrations per hour with a silicon balance spring and equipped with a 72-hour power reserve.

The original bracelet is pretty with a clasp with a butterfly buckle.


A tribute to the spirit of aviation pioneers!

The Longines Spirit collection is expanding with a new chronograph in grade 5 titanium. This lightweight piece comes on a black synthetic strap with neon green stitching, matching the matte black hands and Arabic numerals on the dial, coated with Super-LumiNova for optimal visibility. Its 42 mm titanium case houses an exclusive COSC-certified automatic movement (L688.4) with a silicon balance spring. The case back is engraved with “PIONEER EDITION”. Some will find it too thick, due to its thickness of 16.5 mm, but I have no problem pairing it with a shirt. The lightness of the titanium makes it imperceptible on the arm, but the green indexes make it impossible to avoid looking at it. Beautiful lume, resolutely sporty chic synthetic strap, it’s a big yes for me. Can you fall in love with a watch? The answer is YES. COSC-certified, its price was already considered high and has just increased by 10%. I am happy to have taken the plunge in time.

Pioneer Edition

Happy owner of this magnificent Longines Spirit 37mm. I share with you here my opinion on this watch which is very underrated for me! 
Having just graduated from the eco-management degree and accepted into a master's degree in a major business school. I was looking for a gift symbolizing these successes! Passionate about watchmaking, my choice went straight to a watch! While I tried on quite a few models, going through Tudor, Hamilton, Frédérique Constant and many others. But no favorite on the horizon... that's when the saleswoman handed me a Longueur Spirit 37mm. A little skeptical at first because I had already tried it before with a black and blue dial and I hadn't had a favorite, this time I tried the gray/silver version. And there, a real favorite appears! This gray dial brought a beautiful depth, a beautiful visual on the wrist, we can see the relief better inside the dial. In short, my choice was made and my new watch has arrived! 
It's been two months now that I've been the happy owner of this magnificent Longines and I haven't found a single negative point! It wears very well on its steel bracelet, very discreet on the wrist, goes everywhere. In addition, it can very well be matched with a leather strap for the summer or to make it more dressy. For people who have a small wrist like me or who like discreet and versatile watches, this watch is made for you!

Longines Spirit 37mm 

The spirit range with date window at 3 o'clock didn't appeal to me, but this 37mm version, window at 6 o'clock, with its contained dimensions caught my attention as soon as it came out. I chose this champagne sunray dial (supposedly for women) whose appearance varies from light gold to silver depending on the light. The finishes are of excellent quality, a mixture of brushed steel and polished chamfer, the engraved crown controls a COSC-certified ETA A31.L11 movement. Mounted on a very comfortable bracelet and equipped with a "quick release" system, it looks sporty but a change of bracelet transforms the watch for a sometimes heritage and sometimes dressy look. I am reducing the quality/price ratio rating following the increase of €260 in 6 months, which is totally unjustified!

Spirit 37mm, it has everything a big one has!

For a price that is still relatively accessible, this watch can be a nice alternative to a 36mm OP. The quality level is really excellent for the price.
This watch can be worn with any outfit, from a 3-piece suit to the most casual pieces. The only small regret, the 19mm strap width

Pure versatility!

Having bought my first automatic watch in September 2022 (a Seiko diver), I admit that I got a little tired of it because I found it too large, too heavy, even uncomfortable. So I committed the madness of buying, last January, barely five months after buying my first automatic watch, this superb Longines Spirit 37mm. With a reasonable diameter, pleasant to wear (its metal bracelet is remarkably flexible), relatively thin (11.7mm thick), this watch is a most satisfying entry into the world of Swiss watchmaking. COSC (the watch has never deviated by more than 2 seconds per day), particularly readable thanks to its Arabic numerals, this watch is an everyday pleasure. The alternation of polished and brushed is to delight watch enthusiasts who like details that show that their jewel is a truly crafted object. I bought this watch on Chrono 24, at the end of January 2023, for the sum of 1875 euros, shipping costs included), from a Dutch professional. This watch was absolutely new, never worn I suppose, since the warranty date (of 5 five years, thank you Longines!) started to run from the day the watch was shipped, that is to say the day of my purchase. I admit to being disappointed by the inflation that the watch world is currently experiencing, and Longines is not far behind: with an official price of 2300 euros on a steel bracelet when I bought it, it is now at 2650€!!! The price-quality ratio has therefore deteriorated particularly, although that does not matter to me since I got it at a good price via Chrono24.
