First of all, i have lucky been to discover this platform with my friend Lou from Lombard, Illinois 🙏 Beside being an Omega fan, i own several Speedys but wanted to share my thoughts about this one. Different, slightly smaller than a Moonwatch but bigger feelings on my wrist. Many people can recognize a "regular" Speedy but very few can outlook this reference 176.002. Every single person slightly interested in watches will ask for more informations about it. During the late 90s, i used to travel back and force from Illinois to Florida and went once to Kennedy Space Center to visit the Complex... and i believe my passion for Speedys are related to this trip. So why this Mark III? Star Wars look, underrated, lucky looser... It doesn't mean I don't like my 145.022 anymore but this one is less conventional and propelled by an automatic caliber (not sure but i believe 1041). The journey to acquire such a piece is also different as you don't find that often a dial with great tritium patina. This one is absolutely stunning. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Ignition 🚀

It's a fully analog dashboard for the pilot that I am not. It fits perfectly into my collection, especially alongside my Omega Speedmaster Mark III. Much more modern and imposing at 46mm, it is paradoxically not as big as it seems due to its rather short lugs. Without being visually too thick, the proportions make it a comfortable watch to wear every day. 

Its sunburst blue dial is magnificent and sparkles with a thousand colors depending on the angle of the sun. Precision and reliability are present, and ultimately, that's what we expect from a recent watch at the very least. I chose it with the blue rubber strap to give it an even sportier look than on exotic leather. The genuine Breitling steel bracelet, on the other hand, gave it a too shiny look that made it slide towards an ostentatious watch!

I am a fan of the speedmaster. It is perfectly sober and sporty. But I was missing some madness and this time I am served! It is truly incredible by its design, its dial and its complications. It does not go with everything but it does not matter in the end, I love it infinitely. It had a little refresh because it had suffered a lot of damage. Today without being perfect it is a pleasure to wear regularly

After the black and blue dial versions, one was missing for the family to be complete on this site.
I present to you the silver gray version of the speed mk iii.
It has undergone a slight facelift, like ladies of a certain age... Finally the bracelet is a Holzer which changes it from the other 1162.
So not really immaculate but which is well suited to its use. I wear it frequently and I think I will keep it for a while longer.
On the wrist it weighs its weight. Surely so as not to forget the pilot case which is not the most discreet and which easily bumps into doors, tables and furniture...
It remains a very beautiful watch with its very assertive personality and its style anchored in the 70s.
It is all the more interesting because this watch still passes under the radar compared to its elders, the moonwatches, speed mk ii and other Flightmaster.

This typical Speedmaster from the 70s It is the heir to the watch that traveled to the moon.
Omega declared in its advertising that the Moonwatch only needed to be wound up by itself...and here it is! Very large and bulky, we can't say that it is easy to wear, but its blue is spectacular and its Lemania caliber surprises.
Although it has gradually increased in price, you can still have it for a third of the price of the Moonwatch.
