Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Owner Review : Discreet, simple and sober

Several thousand euros for a watch that you have to wind yourself, that is not waterproof, with a plastic glass (even if it is pompously called "hesalite") and with a solid case back. The indexes and the logo on the dial are painted and not applied. In short, it is without a doubt the worst value for money in my modest collection. But in reality, it is not a watch. It is an object that I wear every day and that refers to my childhood dreams and my passion for astronomy. An object that took me more than 10 years to be able to afford. It is a piece of history, of course with the commercial aspects that go with it. A few years ago, I had the chance to approach a volcano that is still active in Reunion Island and I was a bit like Haroun Tazieff for a few moments. When I wear my speed, I am a bit like Buzz Aldrin. That's what I paid a few thousand euros for. My favorite detail: the perceived thinness of the case due to the fact that the case back is beveled. When wearing it, it seems much thinner than it is. An adjective that is not in the list: passe-partout. It goes with everything. Any bracelet, any outfit.
