Why customers love Oris?

Why do we love our Oris rather than another watch brand? There are undoubtedly as many different reasons to love your Oris as there are Oris models that have been sold! To help you find the Oris that suits you, Dialicious invites you to take inspiration from reviews of authentic owners who own at least one Oris. The most recent reviews are presented first and you can also sort them by rating, number of views, interest from the Dialicious community or alphabetically.

A superb daily!

4.7

I discovered the Oris brand a few years ago on social media thanks to their Propilot Kermit. In my opinion, a marketing genius, the lime green dial with a very modern and angular case, but especially this little Kermit the frog head 🐸 that appears once a month to completely make this watch lose its seriousness. During a stroll in the 6th arrondissement to window shop, I pass in front of the store. Opportunity to physically see this watch and discover the work of Oris. I then discover 2 other very flashy models, the caliber 115 with its skeletonized dial and the laser with its multi-colored dial thanks to a laser treatment never before seen on a watch. The 115 and its 44mm diameter is too imposing for me. But the laser is wonderful. I discover at that moment, the rest of the watch: - an in-house automatic movement with 5 days of power reserve and a precision superior to COSC standards. - a full titanium watch that despite its 39mm diameter is forgotten on the wrist due to its weight and its contained thickness (9.5mm). - a case waterproof to 100m. - a very angular design reminiscent of the American F-117 stealth planes. This design exploited on every detail: case back, crown, bezel... But it was when I took off the watch that I cracked! By manipulating the folding clasp and its "lift" system reminiscent of airplane buckles, I had a crush. Could it be the memory of a childhood spent on Toulouse-Paris flights between my divorced parents; or simply the satisfaction of the clicks of its use as a fidget toy; I can't tell you. What I know is that I wanted it. Gift for my 30th birthday, the budget not being unlimited and preferring a watch with date, I took this magnificent blue dial for 2200€ and still under warranty for 7 years! 5 months that I wear it, it must spend almost half the time on my wrist. Not bad considering the 12 other watches in my collection… I had a problem with the bracelet one day, a blocked link without understanding where it came from. Perfectly managed by the teams of the Oris Montorgueil boutique, 3 weeks in the workshop (in the middle of August…) and it came back like new, the small scratches having disappeared by a gentle polishing and all entirely under warranty. I highly recommend.

Gift of reconversion…

4.6

Having retrained in watchmaking in 2016, I of course wanted to treat myself to a watch if I got my CAP… Once I got my CAP, I started browsing LBC to find what I wanted (at the time, the DIALICIOUS platform unfortunately didn’t exist…) At that time, ORIS was also making headlines with a reissue of the “diver sixty five” I decided to go looking for a similar model, and after a few weeks I found what I wanted! What’s more, the person was next door to me… A magnificent Oris Star diver from the 1968 era from January (the month of my birthday) according to the inside of the case back. —> Super compressor case, black aluminum bezel, Lacquered dial, tritium index, ringed super dome plexiglass and waterproof crown signed Oris, not screwed down. —> Manufactured movement Oris 645 KIF: - First movement from them with a jeweled Swiss anchor. - Antishock KIF Flector. - Bi-directional bezel in black aluminum and tritium point at 12 o'clock. - Case so super waterproof Compressor of the time with clipped back, diameter 36mm and thickness without the plexi 10mm. - Tropic bracelet from the 60s new in stock found by me. - The crown in the style of big crown finishes the diving look of the time and luckily it is original signed Oris. A very precise watch the Oris 645 manufacture movement is excellent and robust. The watch is very easy to wear with its contained diameter and its low thickness a beautiful skindiver that slips under the sleeve of the office suit 😀

A treat!

4.5

I hesitated with my budget between Longines, Tudor and Oris, I finally let myself be convinced by the small independent resisting the ogres of watchmaking, and it is of course without regret! I opted for the diameter 39.5 despite my 17.5 wrist because I wanted a versatile diver that can be worn as sportswear as well as dressed up and it is a real success! Finally a diver that can also be worn wonderfully in the office!. As for the movement, I have heard a lot about my drift from some, beyond 12 seconds, and well it was perhaps the case for the first releases of the range, but it seems to be corrected because mine, like many others that I have or read on dialicious, does not exceed 4s/day, oris seems to have finally taken the time to carefully adjust their movement and it is very appreciable, especially since for this price range, it is the least we expected. The dial is very well finished, I regret however the too discreet blue, which seems rather black than blue in the majority of lighting but which remains all the same pleasant. The ceramic bezel is of the best effect as for it, the click has a very beautiful sound. The finishes of the bracelet are really excellent, I am impressed to have such a well finished steel for this price, and which does not scratch as easily as I would have thought. The criterion of the indexes and hands is very important to me because they contribute to the overall harmony of a dial, and I am completely satisfied! I would even say that it is the details that made me lean towards this watch when making my decision, the wide hands that end in a point were all I was looking for. The crown protector, for its part, brings a real adventurer side to this watch, which makes it really versatile, especially since with the reduced diameter that I chose, it gains in presence on the wrist, so it can slip under a fireplace at the office, without appearing ridiculously small with a t-shirt. In conclusion, for the undecided who want an excellent alternative to the Tudors that we see everywhere, or the Mido/Hamiltons that are a little too much (entry level) I think that this Oris is perfectly positioned for people who want not to do like everyone else, and to be original without appearing folkloric. The only real point that I regret about this watch is the low-grade movement, as well adjusted as it is, would have deserved to be better finished, when we are talking about a watch around 2500e.
