I present to you my Seiko SKX007 a watch that I acquired a long time ago, this watch was put on the market by the Japanese manufacturer Seiko in 1996 and they withdrew it from sale in 2019. It is a real diver that has proven itself because it is a real tool watch it has the automatic movement 7S26 a caliber renowned for its reliability and robustness it is one of the watches that has been the best-selling by the Tokyo brand, with a special strap to go on the diving suit branded Seiko and the crown is screwed, in the same segment the watch that rivals it is the Citizen NY0040 that I also own because I love divers and this Seiko SKX is legendary and I will never part with it, it has a typical wave bracelet stamped Seiko and which reproduces the bottom of the watch case its diameter is 42mm.

The skx is my first automatic watch! I wanted something solid, goes everywhere and especially easy to wear. With its metal bracelet it weighs a little but as soon as you put a nato bracelet everything changes and what I like about this model is the ease of changing style depending on the bracelet In terms of precision it is not the best but as they say it does the job :)

When I received this SKX ordered this summer 2023 I remember the emotion caused when I received it. It was THE watch that I would have liked to have when I was younger when I wore festina that did not last very long on my wrist. The emotion quickly went down the same day when I saw that it was moving forward by 20 minutes per hour!!! After disassembly, changing the balance spring and adjustment, it is now around -15 / +15 seconds per day which suits me Aesthetically there is nothing to complain about. The lume is excellent. It is super well proportioned even for my small wrist. It is a winner that would have deserved a permanent place in the Seiko collection

I have owned this SKX for over 5 years and it is a watch that I still enjoy wearing. The price/pleasure ratio is incredible (watch purchased for less than 300 euros). This is one of the last SKX models made in Japan. With the orange dial, it is obviously very sporty but you can easily dress it up with beautiful straps (leather or NATO), the original rubber strap being really bulky and not very elegant. A really great holiday watch.

The SKX .... there was a time when getting into watchmaking could be summed up as SKX or Mako? It was Mako for me 5 years ago, finding the SKX too "rustic" & "industrial". I was wrong. The SKX is one of those watches whose bezel Ø is 2mm smaller than the case Ø. This mid-size model with a 37/38mm case therefore has a Ø35 bezel & a Ø27 dial. Which is very small, very refined, perhaps too much for tool use. And so as the title indicates, with its faceted conical bezel, its contained Ø & its jubilee bracelet, this SKX is not so far removed in the broad outlines from a classic OysterDate construction (completely in its place between a 74033 & a 114270). In short, a watch also designed for bike rides, but which takes on so many roles that it can do everything with its SEIKO jubilee bracelet. It is the most complete in my watch box.

This is my watch for surfing, the bezel no longer rotates, we don't care. I trust it and its nato strap. It will remain my watch for lively activities in the water. Super readability, satisfactory design, crown at 4 o'clock very practical for wrist movements. Best entry-level watch. I will never sell it. I hope it will acquire a patina over time.

This is the watch that got me into "watchmaking". Little sister of the SKX007 because it is 38mm (compared to 42mm for the 007). Small diver in size, but not in features! 200m waterproof, an iconic design, an indestructible movement (not super precise though). The skx013 is an ideal daily watch because each strap gives it a different look! A colorful tropic for summer, a nato for a casual style, the jubilee for every day, and a leather to go out well dressed! The little detail that I love is the orange "Diver's200m" writing which adds some pep to the dial!

It has been with me for about twenty years. I have always found it elegant and reliable. Not the most precise but I like it that way. We have skated together. Never spared, sun sea sand mud sweat, never opened... original bracelet that has relaxed with use. Normal... I am always seduced

This watch is simply my first automatic watch and by the way the first one that I can call a "beautiful watch". I got it for Christmas, for my 18th birthday and it accompanied me during my years of study, especially at the beginning when I didn't have any other watches in my collection... my daily day and night 😁 It's also a perfect summer watch, especially on the rubber strap, the so-called Z22. Design-wise, it's a diver's watch, it doesn't invent anything and it's ultra readable. It meets the "Scuba Diver" standard. I think I fell in love with this case (and its curves) and despite a substantial diameter, it's comfortable, especially thanks to the reduced lug to lug. The crown at 4 o'clock gives it a hell of a face. The Pepsi bezel shines in the sun to reveal a pretty rendering. Movement-wise, nothing extraordinary with the valiant 7S26, replaced by the 4R, there is not even manual winding on the crown but it is not a problem. My model was bought 10/11 years ago for the modest sum of 120 euros (thanks Santa Claus). Today, SKXs are more expensive because they are no longer produced, if you want one, try to find the best price without breaking the bank too much. It is a Japan version so made in Japan or at least I presume, assembled in Japan with Japanese components... the K models being assembled (if we believe certain sources) in another Asian country with components not Made In Japan (except the movement). In the J or K version, it is a superb historic diver from Seiko that will have marked a generation of collectors.
