This Tudor deserves to be known: under a very simple first glance, we quickly realize the high quality of the watch's production. The white indexes stand out perfectly on the sandblasted black dial. The alternation of polished / brushed finishes, as well as the chamfer (which runs the entire length of the case) give it a crazy charm. The movement is also very precise (+3 seconds/day) It also has good diving capabilities: I even used it during my first scuba diving in Corsica! The only point that suits me less is the thickness of the case...

I wear the model (79230R) released in 2016 which is equipped with a manufacture movement and has some changes compared to the previous version (ETA): a slightly thicker case (to accommodate this new caliber), a modified dial: the rose logo 🌹 replaced by the shield 🛡️, the COSC certification text replacing the "self winding" written in "smile", we however find the rose engraved on the crown and above all an extended power reserve aligned with market standards, while retaining its diver's specifications. This is the watch I wear the most, despite its imposing dimensions, it is quite versatile, in particular thanks to the polished/brushed effects on the case which give a dressy side to this sports watch. Its "beefy" dimensions ultimately give it a real style and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world for another Tudor model with more contained dimensions (BB58 or 54).

Tudor’s Black Bay collection was launched in 2012 and offers three different sizes of watches with three dial choices. Initially black and inspired by the Rolex Explorer model, the collection has since evolved to include blue and silver colours. The dials are characteristic of early Tudor divers with “Snowflake” hands, which are also characteristic of the brand’s watches delivered to the French Navy in the 1970s. The crown of the watch is a reference to the 1958 7924 model nicknamed the “Big Crown”. The Black Bay 41 has a polished steel case and a black dial with the text “Rotor Self-Winding” which adds a vintage touch to the watch.
