This is a watch that I bought a bit by chance. A seller I knew was putting it up for sale and I was tempted because I have always liked gold watches visually without taking the plunge. It is a really endearing watch and I find it superb. It is truly the elegant watch par excellence. Less popular than the Seamaster, I find that the Geneva range is just as interesting with a variety of dials, indexes of colors to infinity....there is something for everyone. The model presented is gold-plated, it is recognizable because the case back is in steel.

My first gold watch

Do we still need to introduce it? I think we have here the best of the old (aluminum insert) and the new. The watch is very qualitative. The red and black insert is for me the nicest and offers the pep(i) expected for the watch. The watch is very pleasant to wear because it is not too thick and a perfect diameter for me. I recommend it!

The best of both worlds

This watch is incredible, surely the most comfortable to wear that I have in my collection. The jubilee bracelet is very flexible, the dial is superb with slightly champagne reflections. I love the fluted bezel-jubilee bracelet combo. Some will say that it's too much but I love it. I was able to find this model from my year of birth so it adds a little something to the watch. In short, I love it especially in size 36 with my small wrist.

The datejust of my birth year

I had spotted this watch when it was released on the Japanese market and then I had abandoned the idea because of the potential customs duties. But as soon as it was released on the European market I did not hesitate given the price. You really get your money's worth. Here we have a watch that is a bit different from the traditional Seiko (just as recommendable however). The dial makes the whole watch for me. I may regret the slightly large diameter and suddenly the dial looks a bit empty but it remains one of the watches that I wear regularly.

The perfect watch to start with

Watch purchased in 2018 without a waiting list. It was really my holy grail at the time (now I have another one). The watch is really perfect. The strap is incredibly high quality, without any play and greatly contributes to the quality aspect of the watch. I do not regret my purchase. Too bad that at the time you couldn't choose inserts in several colors like now.

The one that started it all. My first watch, the one I bought myself at 33 and wore for 10 years without stopping, in all circumstances, without any desire to replace it. The one that would remain if I had to keep only one. The aviator, the Pan Am legend since 1954. The most precise of all. And those blue and red bezel colors that change over the years and that I will never tire of. I have always preferred Pepsi to Coke!

Rolex GMT MASTER II ref 16710 - 

Perfect size and bracelet for my small wrist. The dialog between the black, the grey and the gold works beautifully. Perfect step before the full gold version that is too dressy for my taste. It's my daily watch now, and I can't wear anything else. I am always with t-shirt and jeans and this absolutely elegant watch works perfectly with my sporty style. I got it at the airport, the place in which I had many traumas as a child due to immigration and exile. Getting this watch is for me the sign of a new area of my life.

The Rolex GMT-Master II reference 116710 LN was introduced in 2007, this model features a black Cerachrom ceramic bezel, a 40mm stainless steel case, a date function, as well as the iconic ability to track multiple time zones. The “LN” in the model number stands for “Lunette Noir”, indicating the black bezel. Its production continued until around 2019, when it was discontinued and replaced by new models. It represents a specific era in Rolex history.

GMT-Master II Black Bezel

A legendary watch from Rolex as well as from the world of watchmaking, this new version of the GMT MASTER II called Batgirl brings a slight touch of exoticism with the blue of the hand and the bezel while remaining much more discreet than the Pepsi or Sprite version. Indeed, with the multiplication of aggression problems, it can be difficult to wear depending on its geographical location. 
It is all the more unfortunate that the Jubilee bracelet ensures great comfort to the point of almost forgetting that you have the watch on your wrist. 
Still concerning the bracelet, the Easylink adjustment system is also well thought out and allows you to adjust the watch on the fly in summer. 

In short, it is a perfect Rolex to be worn both casually and sporty chic but you have to be aware that it is a source of covetousness for both enthusiasts and thieves.

The wisest of the GMT MASTER II

Everyone remembers Séguéla: "If you don't have your Rolex at 50, it's because you haven't succeeded in life" which is totally false, but for my 47th birthday, I finally started looking for my future Rolex. I needed it, black, with a date, neither diver nor chronograph, being used to quite imposing watches, I turned away from the datejust to go for a GMT, I understood that it would not be easy...
On the advice of Cédric and Stéphane during their respective "small watches between friends", I decided to go for a recent second-hand reference less popular and therefore less expensive.
So I chose a 116710LN, because it combined all my criteria and had the advantage of no longer being manufactured.
The classicism of a Submariner combined with the presence of the GMT. There, something is happening. I understood quite quickly why Rolex dominated its market, in a few months, it imposed itself in my collection, whereas until then, none of my watches had taken the upper hand. Why? Classic, it knows how to be discreet. Dressed up, it knows how to be sparkling or provocative. Weekends, and holidays, it becomes sporty. The sound of its second hand, the blue light of the Chromalight, the detail of its dial and its engravings on its edge, the hand and the inscription GMT master II in the Rolex color, the precision of its movement and perhaps even the image it projects on me. It definitely wears its crown well. It's crazy, I can't wait to be 50 to treat myself to a second Rolex, but this time with the jubilee bracelet and a new complication to complete my collection.

The statutory

A watch that goes as well with a suit as with a casual outfit on the weekend. A pleasure to have this watch. It was my first Rolex and what a love for this timepiece! I do everything with sea, swimming, skiing ... it is my ally when I travel and change time zones. The Oyster bracelet half brushed and polished is toper one gives its sporty and elegant character

Timeless

This Gmt master 2 is a versatile watch because it can be worn at any time and with any outfit. As much for a dressy outfit as just for going swimming since it is waterproof and there I am not afraid to wear it. Precise and a timeless Gmt it is surely the one that I wear most often because in addition to that, despite a few knocks the very resistant steel of Rolex is perfect. The proportions are also perfect. And for me a gmt master 2 is on an oyster bracelet, it is too blingbling on the jubilee bracelet, the jubilee goes well with a datejust.. In short it is a timeless watch that we can never get tired of! Luckily I bought it new in 2017 like the skydweller in 2018 and I waited only a few months I think 1 month even for this one before it was the speculation to this point today. I didn't choose it as an investment object but because I liked it, however it is sometimes annoying when people see you as a speculator, when that is not the case at all.

Timeless, versatile and sturdy!

Announced during WW24, I knew that this reference was made for me!
To tell the truth, I wasn't looking for much, but like any watch collector, I always think about the next one, and this one was running through my head. Why? For all these reasons:
- the two-tone black and gray remains discreet but well enough done so that we can distinguish the difference
- the green GMT hand gives a little colorful note to the sober line of the watch
- the jubilee bracelet which can be bling bling on certain models here enhances the whole

In the end, it knows how to match all my clothing desires: suit or sportswear, shorts or jeans.
I agree that it is quite difficult to have, but it remains a pleasant piece to see but especially to wear

La BRUCE WAYNE

Beautiful watch with this black and blue on an oyster bracelet. Ultra-resistant, I have worn it day and night for 5 years for any activity; it has resisted a mountain bike accident better than my ribs. For me it is a complete watch. It adapts to any occasion, suit or jeans sweatshirt.

Gorgeous 

I bought this Rolex for its aesthetics that I find particularly successful with the bezel combining blue and black. The blue GMT hand is very discreet but also brings an original touch. The 40mm diameter is the perfect diameter for me. On a par with my Explorer II black background, it is my favorite Rolex. Being a great traveler, the GMT hand is not a gadget for me. My only regret with this watch is the phenomenal (irrational even) rating that it reaches and unfortunately this attracts covetousness not necessarily well-intentioned. A watch that can therefore no longer be worn anywhere at any time (the Explorer clearly has the advantage in terms of discretion).

Sporty and dressy

At Rolex, after the sub date of 94 and the sea-dweller 50th, my collection continues with a GMT Master II "Rootbeer".
The "Rootbeer" is a choice addition to any watch collection. Its design and its combination of warm colors make it a timeless piece. The GMT function already seduces me for my next trips. This timepiece is a symbol of elegance and know-how. A real investment for enthusiasts.


"ROOTBEER "

The GMT Master II is a model that I have always liked. The day I decided to buy one, it was obvious to me that of all the variants, the 16713 (gold/steel) was the natural choice. First, I have trouble with 6-digit GMTs with their shiny ceramic bezel and the typography of the bezel that is too "square". The 5-digit GMTs are more "small" and "softer", and also more vintage. Then, by putting a 16710 LN and a 16713 side by side, there was no hesitation for me. Where the 16710 appeared almost dull, the 16713 radiated, sang,... It is not for nothing that they say that gold is a warm metal. I have always liked gold watches which give that little chic touch that steel watches sometimes have difficulty having. And then if you like vintage like me, gold watches (and especially gold-plated) are legion. Even chronographs from the 50s/60s are often gold-colored. So to summarize, a gold/steel GMT Master II was an obvious choice. Especially since this one is in superb condition. It is a first hand from 2000, bought from an exclusive vintage Rolex professional with all the history. I bought it and I do not regret having ignored all the comments of the time made by people who did not own this model, had probably never seen one in real life, but who still denigrated it with prejudices of a bling-bling watch reserved for the Middle Eastern and American markets. Afterwards, it did me a lot of good, because at the time (about 5 years ago), the gold/steel version cost much less second-hand than the all-steel version!!! I did not know that steel cost more than gold...thanks fashion! Since then, several brands have released gold/steel models, models have been seen in stores and the comments have evolved positively, unfortunately leading to an increase in the price. But here and there, we still hear some prejudices that die hard. To conclude, this Rolex 16713 is the elegant GMT Master II of the range, halfway between the steel version "sporty tool watch" and the gold version "precious" ... and very expensive. A horological phoenix in a furious world

The GMT Master II is a model that I have always liked. The day I decided to buy one, it was obvious to me that of all the variants, the 16713 was the natural choice. I have always liked the gold elements of this watch which give that little chic touch that the "all steel" ones do not have. So to sum up, a gold/steel GMT Master II was an obvious choice. Especially since this one is in superb condition. It is a first hand from 2000, bought from an exclusive vintage Rolex professional with all the history. I bought it at a time when this model was shunned by European customers. And again, I was looking for a sultan dial, but my wife thought it was "too much" for a Rolex. I listened to her and opted for the black dial. I don't regret this choice, but sometimes I think back to this magnificent Sultan dial that I like a lot... In short, to conclude, this Rolex 16713 is elegant, can even be used as a "dress watch" because its 40 mm diameter is quite standard for any wrist, and it is not very thick for a so-called professional watch. So, if gold and steel tempts you, don't hesitate!

A warm watch

In my opinion, this is one of the most versatile watches in the Rolex range.
It adapts to different clothing styles and even better with a change of bracelet but also to uses and contexts.
I am not very careful in any case I like to push the limits of the objects I use, I put it all the time on a boat, diving, mountain biking, in the mountains everywhere.
It is extremely resistant and keeps a timeless design.

the varied ALL ROAD watch from Rolex

A perfect watch for the great traveler with the possible reading of 3 time zones using the bidirectional bezel, or simply for the pleasure of a sedentary person to wear this watch formally or casually and use the GMT hand as a 24-hour indication. The Everose color (Rolex-made pink gold) has a very beautiful shine and the contrast between the brushed and polished parts is very effective without being flashy to my taste. The deep black dial highlights the indexes and the two-tone bezel is in harmony. For the rest, we find of course the know-how of the Rolex house, robustness, precision, comfort on the wrist

Precious GMT

First generation with non-pierced horns, I particularly appreciate the finesse of the dial. The original black bezel was then replaced by the good care of the Dubail house by a red and black model, a perfect alliance with the red of the GMT hand! Not too heavy and not too flashy with its slightly old school Fliplock bracelet! The small, discreet screwed crown underlines its robust and oyster style... An emblematic model, a little vintage and sought after, careful to avoid unhealthy lust, it only occupies my wrist during country stays ;)!

GMT-II Z series

All fans of the brand know the difficulties in acquiring a new model. As a result, I turned to the second-hand market but for a GMT reference 16710 year 2000 and I do not regret my choice at all. It has just as much charm if not more than the modern ones.

The GMT Mater II Pepsi 16710

The only real GMT owned, acquired when the ceramic Pepsi was not yet available for sale, I would prefer the jubilee today, why? these mirror-polished central links... a daily disaster as the slightest scratches appear, then the mirror polish on the bracelet, yes... in new stock photos! To return to our GMT, this one is water-resistant to 100m like most Rolexes, an impeccable finish, COSC precision at the rendezvous, a watch that fits well, is discreet with its 40mm, a pretty versatile and somewhat flashy piece.
