
I am one of those collectors who like to add meaning to the purchase of a watch. Linking it to a significant event in our lives (positive or negative but always important for its wearer). This pretty Reverso Tribute (boutique edition) is no exception to the rule. In addition to its magnificent "wine-colored" dial that echoes my epicurean side, it is above all a watch that reminds me of my dad. It allows me to have the impression that he is still with me when it elegantly rests on my wrist. In short, "passion"... love... beauty. A sort of triptych that makes sense to me and that systematically lights up my face with a smile when my eyes rest on it.

What can I say about my "little" BB Harrods. I don't want to talk about caliber or format here, but rather to share my feelings about this piece and its acquisition. A friend, a need for cash to finance a highly sentimental piece... in short, it's obvious. That's how today, I proudly wear (even if too little for my taste) this beautiful Harrods on my wrist. My favorite detail? Definitely the green-tinted tip of the second hand... just a reminder of the bezel and the 660ft 200m located at 6:00. The story of this watch and me dates back to 2017, the year it was released. At the time, I had a Datejust in 41 with the same dial color. I fell head over heels in love with the Sky! Why? Firstly, because I had grown tired of this Datejust without a fluted bezel, so I love its fluted bezel, and then, I find that the assembly between the second time zone, the cyclops magnifying glass, the red index that announces the month, and the little arrow that announces the reference time is very balanced! I really love the complication. Automatically differentiating months of 30 days from those of 31 days, the annual calendar, called Saros, is powered by a patented mechanism and is distinguished by an innovative display: the months of the year are marked by twelve windows around the dial, the current month is indicated in red. The date change, instantaneous, is linked to local time. And on top of that, the adjustment is done for each piece of information by turning the bezel, child's play! No other watch has this system! It's simply perfect for me. The color, the easy-to-adjust strap in case of high heat and the complication, it's surely the watch that I would keep among my entire collection if I had to choose one!

The Rolex of my dreams…

It seems that this is the most complex movement that Rolex has ever produced. The adjustment mechanism of this annual calendar with a second time zone is above all very ingenious and super practical to use. This is the first Rolex that I bought for myself. Within the whole range, it seemed to me to be original, practical, simple, coherent, relatively discreet, functional, dressy, versatile. And above all, I was seduced by the changing shades of its magnificent blue dial. The fluted bezel that initially bothered me, actually contributes to its seduction as it catches the light and reflects reflections from all angles. 42 mm in diameter, it is a fairly imposing and heavy watch, but very comfortable to wear, and of contained thickness compatible with wearing a dress shirt. Very practical and instant adjustment of the bracelet for the summer when the wrists swell a little. Very visible and durable Lum. Beautiful power reserve of 70 hours. I think that if I had to keep only one watch from the ones I own today, it would be this one. It is always a pleasure to find it after a few weeks in the safe, and resetting it takes less than a minute as the adjustment device is so ingenious.
