Siin U50 is the pinacle of a tool watch. Submarine Steal, tegimented case and bracelet (that I switched  for better conform in summer)  Ultra readable hand and indice.
But , surprisingly, germain can have a romantic side too! So for this limited editions, Siin used a Mother of Pearl dial. The watch is relativity thin, 11m so I guess it can be considered as a dress watch. :) 
 I really like this combinaison of practicality and romance. 

When romance meets engineering

A small brand from Germany. And by small, I mean 120 pieces a year without the help of CNC machines.

This 38.5mm diameter bronze case houses a manufacture caliber Quintus 2010. Twin barrels in series, a mainspring beating at 2.5 Hz deliver a 55-hour power reserve. One should also notice the Malta cross, which helps to provide a constant force. Of course, the finishing is outstanding.


On the dial face, the regulator aspect of the watch shines. Not your typical regulator dial where each hand has its own subdial. On top is a power reserve, on the bottom are the hours, and a big minutes and seconds hands are showcased in the middle. All hands are plated in rose gold.

The markers are carved by a pantograph and then filled with rose gold or white.

It's truly a unique watch! Dornbluth allows you to customize the watch in every aspect. I chose the bronze case, the gold hands and minute marks, and of course, the color of the dial. 

This customization associated with low volume production have a price. I waited 2 years for my watch. You are put on a real "wait list" :) 

This watch is good proof that watchmaking is, or can be both an art and a science.

Dornbluth Regulartor: The Art and Science of Watchmaking

A watch brand deeply rooted in Detroit History. As a child, I always looked at old church clocks from the car windows to know which village we were passing. Detroit got its clock tower in 1871, and this watch takes inspiration from it.

The dial has a beautiful 3d feel; the Roman numerals give it its classic style, whereas the hands give it a modern taste.

 It was a limited edition of 50 pieces; I got lucky to get one of the last ones. Worth notice is the fantastic strap. It reminds me of luxury leather in the car. It makes sense that the company's owner was a car designer before switching to watchmaking.

Nothing is perfect;  This watch is a little too thick for my taste. By 39mm x 11mm high, it is a little too prominent on the wrist due to the Sellita SW200  movement.

But in the end, this is an Old Clock Honnest Watch, not an Ultra Thin dress watch :)

In conclusion, I really like this watch! It feels personal, authentic, "home-made". You feel the personal love and care the designer put into this watch.

Looking for a new diver to replace my recently sold Submariner, I quickly became interested in this model based on the specs and its very original design (a design that is unlikely to remind me of the Sub every time I look at it). In terms of specs, I appreciate the 500m water resistance without a helium valve (useless for ordinary mortals), which allows the case to remain very thin. I will never go to -500m but at least I am certain that I can do everything in aquatic activities (surfing, diving, jetskiing, etc.). In terms of design, it has no equivalent and it is very readable. All the characteristics of a great diver are there. Only flaw: steel a little heavy (deutsch qualitat) and its price a little high.
