Don't buy it by default!

Completely won over by the concept when it was announced, I finally went a bit crazy when I saw the moonswatch in real life in a shop window, finding the colors and design a bit of a failure. Like everyone else, I wanted one and like everyone else, I couldn't get one, I went to a dozen swatch stores during the year following the release all over Europe and the same observation each time: the little stock available was sold as soon as the store opened. But beyond the hype, the "cool" and very desirable side of the watch, I knew that I needed a reason to add this piece to my collection, following the opinions on the internet and in my entourage only confirmed a universal thing: buying a watch by default or because it's the watch to have without any other stimuli behind it is condemning yourself to having nothing to do with the watch, money purely thrown out the window to pile up a dead object at home. Sad. I am a golfer and one of the curses of this sport is that it is not compatible with mechanical watches: the violent shock that goes through our arm with each shot is a danger for our watch movements, as robust as they are. So I have to spend my golf sessions without a watch (a horror) or with my quartz watches, but you quickly stand out with a G-shock on your wrist in this atmosphere. I had been looking for a quartz watch for a long time that could really have a really strong, sporty and classy design and I can tell you that, as a big fan of the Speedmaster, the announcement of the moonswatch made a spark in my brain. I decided to go for the earth model (one of those that I found the ugliest at first) firstly because the color is perfectly suited to a golf course, and then because the gray/black ones that are used to "imitate" a real Moonwatch really don't work in my opinion. Only thing that is O-B-L-I-G-A-T-O-R to do immediately for any moonswatch buyer: CHANGE THE STRAP! The concept is nice to have given us an astronaut style strap to stay in the theme of the planets I'm not saying but concretely the basic strap is unwearable as it is ugly, impractical and not very comfortable. The moonswatch has many flaws but it does have one quality: it is to have a wide range of straps that suit it and that allow to give it a really nice style. For mine I opted for a dark blue/grey OMEGA Nato that I had originally bought for my Seamaster 300m and I find that it changes absolutely everything, the watch goes from a small plastic toy to a watch with a crazy visual harmony and perfectly adapted to the role that I wanted it to have in my collection. No regrets about having bought this watch which meets a need for me: a beautiful, inexpensive and light watch for sport.
