Wancher Dream Moonphase Kaguya Owner Review : Admirable, harmonious and cute

This watch offers a dreamlike dial - the pearly blue reflections of the sky and the black and white patterns of the gigantic moon phase - hence the name Dream Moonphase Kaguya in English. Kaguya being of course the princess of the moon. The second version of this watch released in 2023 also has Kaguya on the dial, which in English is still more elegant than the brand name that is written on this initial model released in 2022. The movement is Chinese (Hangzhou 7) and it is not a real moon phase since it is on 31 days (instead of 29 days, 12 hours and 44 minutes), clearly you have to reset it to the correct date from time to time to be in phase with the moon. This is not very annoying, the main asset of this 42mm watch is its dial which invites you to dream. The glass generates a lot of reflection and it is difficult to photograph it well, the glass of the new version is I think better adapted from this point of view. The back is transparent but the oscillating weight and the movement are not particularly decorated, it is on the other side that you have to pay attention. This exotic watch from a small Japanese micro-brand offers good value for money. The brand is rather positioned on pens and tribute watches (but this one is rather original and inspired by Japanese traditions). The name of the brand is a portmanteau joining Wan (all) and Cher (beautiful) meaning everything that is beautiful (although in English it is much less elegant and more in line with their tradition of making tribute watches).
