Yema Superman GMT Coke Owner Review : Versatile, bipolar and dazzling

I was given this watch for my 20th birthday. It is my first mechanical watch. I had methodically chosen it based on several criteria which were: French, manufacture caliber, diver, domed glass, old house, "vintage" look. I hesitated for a long time with the classic Superman, which I tried and found bland. This watch has a divine and divisive bezel. Going from dark red to a very pale red and from an intense black to a light gray, we never stop playing with its reflections. When we read the time we can not guess which color scheme we will come across. Aluminum is much more lively than ceramic. But much more fragile ... We are surprised at first by its cream indexes and hands, which give a patinated and vintage look. The tone on tone of the date window is to be noted. The red tip at the "shovel" second hand, the superman written in red, and the GMT hand still in red are crucial details for me, which give an overall coherence to the design of this watch. The original metal bracelet is quite qualitative, with a possible micro adjustment, the only downside is the first link which is almost rigid and clearly extends the horn to horn. Now I will tell you about its biggest flaw: the luminescence. When on the new models, Yema now insistently indicates using Superluminova Grade A, we understand that our watch has a low-end luminova. To begin with, the hands have much more luminova than the indexes and we can see it immediately. The watch takes a long time to charge, and the charge decreases visibly. Apart from artificially lighting it using the flash of your phone for several tens of seconds or after intense sun exposure and immediately going to a very dark area, we never see its shine. If I had been able to see this problem a priori I would never have chosen it. To conclude, I think that this watch is not "perfect" to start watchmaking as could be a Sérica, or a Seiko. But its bezel, its domed glass, its versatility on any type of bracelet, its water resistance to 300m, and its unique design make it a completely satisfying watch and a real blessing on the wrist. I think I will wear it with pride all my life.
