Why customers love Yonger & Bresson?

This watch is the first automatic I have worn and I am not disappointed, although it is full of flaws. What attracted me first is that it is labeled "Made in France" at six o'clock. It is equipped with a leather NATO strap that has aged very quickly and gives it a little antique look, the diameter of the case (42mm) seems a little big for its old look and breaks the magic a little. The back is transparent and the oscillating weight decorated with the small crown of the Younger and Bresson brand. The movement is an Ambre MPB1000 31 jewels with a battery life of 40 hours 28800 vibrations/hour. The movement can be heard at night and is rather stressful to listen to, at least that's what my wife says, in short I put the watch away at night. The simple design with three large numbers and three luminescent hands, several brands have similar designs, like an old military watch and it's rather nice. Paradoxically, reading the time is not made easier. Depending on the lighting conditions, it can even be difficult. Maybe because the luminova is the same on the indexes and hands, maybe also because the domed glass is very reflective and scratches easily. It's called X-Trem but it's not made for extreme sports, otherwise there would be a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Likewise, I have the Bronze model which is not bronze but black PVD. The word "bronze" refers to the color of the luminescent paint. I bought it during the November promotions, the retail price of almost 500 euros seems largely exaggerated to me. Despite all these flaws, I like it, it's really paradoxical.

I vaguely knew the brand that sports a crown as a logo (they are obviously not the only ones) before I was given this quartz chronograph. Since then I have been a little interested in the brand. It is a French brand created in Paris that offers quartz and automatic models at very affordable prices. To be completely honest, recent designs don't speak to me much! What strikes me immediately with this timepiece is obviously this yellow dial that I really like and that brings pep (very nice for sunny days). The black sub-counters integrate well. However, the date window at 4 o'clock distorts the dial to my taste with its white color. The chronograph module unfortunately no longer works on this watch. Regarding the bracelet, nothing to complain about, it is not an exceptional bracelet but it clearly does the job. I rarely wear this watch because I find the dimensions of the case and the lug to lug too large.

I am from that generation marked by the Yonger & Bresson advert that was constantly on TV. "Yonger & Bresson", watches with Swiss precision". However, it is a French watch with a French movement (here an FE 3612 with very average precision). Whoever came up with this ad campaign pulled off a brilliant move. In 15 seconds, the brand is mentioned 3 times, then a sentence: watches.........Swiss (with a strong emphasis on Swiiiisssse). Since I am very nostalgic, I had to have a Yonger & Bresson in my collection. I chose this one, but the brand's models are countless. The watch is of average quality, and yet it still works (which just goes to show...). In the same vein as the Kelton, the Yonger & Bresson allow those who have fears to enter the world of vintage without financial risk. And for the older ones, to treat themselves to a little moment of nostalgia.

This Yonger & Bresson means a lot to me because it was given to me by a loved one. It is thanks to this watch that the world of watchmaking entered my life. I always told myself that I would have the same in Rolex, hence my 16013. Nothing more to add to this watch, but it accompanied me in all my adventures for almost 10 years, if there was only one left, I think it would be the chosen one. It is enjoying a sweet retirement in its case today, I take it out for pleasure from time to time. (The condition is still impeccable even after 10 years of wearing).
