Auricoste Spirotechnique - References, Prices and Owners' Reviews

Looking for a watch with a military past, I looked for a model with a heritage. Many brands met my criteria. Unfortunately, the historical models were out of my budget. That's when I discovered Auricoste and particularly the Spirotechnique. The military past of this brand spoke to me. The multiple partnerships with French and foreign military authorities seduced me. Not to mention the fabulous history of the Spirotechnique which worked to make diving accessible. The Spirotechnique is a diving watch, waterproof to 300m. For me it represents a perfect tribute to the original that equipped the French Navy. Its 42 mm "aircraft carrier" shaped case with its fully brushed crown at 4 o'clock affirms a certain solidity. The matte black dial is really made to have the best readability and the white painted indexes make the task easier. Finally, the good-sized hands are perfectly adapted. The only flaw I noticed was a bit of play in the rotating bezel, but nothing prohibitive. The detail I love is easy....The Spirotechnique logo on the dial.

The Spirotechnique watch by Auricoste seduced me with its subtle link with the world of the French Navy, evoking family memories and values with which I identify. It is true that its diameter and weight are quite large but I quickly got used to it. Super luminova very effective (at the cinema or in a nightclub to know when it is time to go home!) It is always nice to introduce the history of the watch and the brand to the curious! No problem to report on its operation apart from a slight play in the bezel. Overall very satisfied with this acquisition that I wear 3-4 times a week in different environments (work, holidays, etc.) not afraid of damaging it if it resists the marine commandos...

Having served France in the French Navy for nearly 30 years, I embarked on warships that were equipped with the time network provided by the Auricoste company. Beautiful bulkhead clocks that stood in the navigation shelter, at the Telecommunications PC, at the Operations Center or at the Machine PC, encouraged me to take an interest in this watchmaking company founded in 1854. So this year we are celebrating the 170th anniversary of this Navy Watchmaker! When you wear a uniform, there is only one object of coquetry that you can grant yourself on any occasion: the wristwatch. When I had the opportunity to acquire my first diver's watch, I naturally chose the Spirotechnique model whose military past is beyond doubt with its serial number erased with a burin in one of the workshops of the Brest Fleet. Very readable, this diving watch has the particularity of highlighting a few colors that can be exacerbated by a judicious choice of strap: the blue of the Auricoste logo, the yellow-orange of the Spirotechnique diver, the brown of the tritium indexes give the happy owner the possibility of changing the look at will. The smoothness of the thread of the screw-down crown combined with the robustness of the diving bezel give this watch a strong character in epipelagic areas. I recently acquired a very successful reissue from the reseller montresam.fr who is a distributor of the Auricoste brand in the Grand Ouest.
