In the 2000s, Tissot had released the T-touch range which was fashionable. Then a few years later, the Sea Touch arrived. We saw it in all the advertisements. Being a diver, I rushed to acquire it. Indeed, it has a depth gauge, gives the ascent speed. Perfect to support my dive computer. In addition, it has a 2nd time zone, stopwatch, thermometer and compass. It has everything to please. It accompanies me to the 4 corners of the globe and in all the seas. Even after 15 years, it is my faithful companion for my holidays. To this day, it is far from being outdated and works like the first day.

The diving watch and more

I had the opportunity to acquire this watch in 2010. It was named "fusion of materials". Indeed, these materials are: ceramic, carbon fiber, steel and rubber which characterizes this watch. It is recognizable from very far away even for those who know little about watchmaking. It is very pleasant to wear despite its large size. The complications that characterize this watch are the date and the chrono. I like to look at it and it has a timeless look. I am won over!

The Big Bang that merges with matter

Until now, I had never had a Japanese watch. I came across this "Fujisubo" model by chance and I found that it had a beautiful story. Indeed, it is a reinterpretation of a watch that had been found in 1983 on a beach in Australia that was covered in small crustaceans and that was still working. This new version is even more interesting because it is made of titanium. I think it was Citizen who launched titanium on their watches. It is therefore very light and Citizen powered it with their caliber 9051 which is a good caliber. Unfortunately for me, I had bought it on the web and had not tried it before. Personally, I find that it does not fit my wrist. The result is therefore mixed. It is magnificent, light and its movement is very correct. I keep it and wear it from time to time to remind myself that it is essential to try before buying it.

Citizen Promaster "Fujitsubo"

Since 2023, I have had a buying fever. I stumbled upon the Alpina website and my eyes were hooked on this model. It has several complications that you don't see often! Chronograph with big date including a sub-dial that measures the tenth of a second. The movement is certainly in Quartz and it is very precise. The dial is very readable, worthy of an aviator's watch. For the finishes that this watch offers, it is really not worth its price. The details are truly incredible. I think that Alpina is really an underrated brand and has nothing to be ashamed of compared to the big Swiss brands.

In 2009, I wanted to buy an exceptional watch. So I went to IWC and wanted to acquire the Top Gun. The customer service was incredible and let me try several models. Finally, I came out with the Big Ingenieur with its impressive 7-day power reserve. In addition, its Pellaton manufacture movement was a real plus. It is very technical with its polished sapphire, you have the impression that there is no glass. It is imposing but it remains discreet. Why discreet? Because compared to Rolex or others, few people know this brand. This is a brand for connoisseurs. It is my favorite brand. I have owned it for all the years that I have had it, it is the one I wear the most. My watches that I own must be worn. It is in no way for investment. I will have to bring it back at the start of the school year to give it a major overhaul.

Imposing but discreet

I discovered it on an online site. I had already heard of this brand. I immediately fell for its flashy look and its bidirectional internal bezel. In addition, with a window on its heart was a plus. I love the dial and when the second hand turns, we see its shadow follow the hand. There is a feeling of internal volume that I love. Its water resistance to 300m is not left out. Despite a Myota movement, it is very precise. After a week, it lost less than 15 seconds. In short, I am totally a fan.

Original and very clear

I came across some articles this summer and I was immediately won over and decided to pre-order it. I only received it on December 24th. Its dial is beautiful as well as the finishes are exemplary. I love its retro and vintage look and its hybrid mechanism does not bother me at all. On the other hand, the only downside is that it is clearly too small and for a tool watch, it is clearly unusable. Let me explain, the tachometer markings are barely visible and really too small. Even if it remains a gadget, it should be usable. The watch case should have been larger so that it could be used. When I look at it and wear it, it looks like a watch for a 12-year-old. I think that watches are like clothes, you have to try them on before you buy. I have never worn it and I am going to part with it.

Citizen Promaster Titan

I present to you my Citizen Promaster divers Full Lume NY0040-50W ... When looking for a reliable and solid watch at a reasonable price, we inevitably think of Japan and Seiko and perhaps its divers like the SKX007 or the Seiko 5 Sports range. However, another Japanese manufacturer should not be forgotten! This is Citizen, with in particular one of the best cheap automatic diving watches on the market, namely the Citizen Promaster Diver Automatic.

It is one of the most famous watches from the Japanese manufacturer, in particular thanks to its classic and original look, but above all thanks to its resistance and durability. In this price range, it is one of the best possible choices. The full Lume is excellent. Diameter 42mm water resist 200m price 230 euros.

I wanted to buy a diver with its own identity, no homage watch etc. all with a contained budget. This watch quickly met my specifications, sapphire crystal, quality movement (2 seconds of daily drift), affordable financially (bought for 250 euros) with flawless day and night readability. I added a steel bracelet of the same brand so that I could wear it on any occasion. This watch follows me everywhere, there is no need to pay special attention to it. A good tool watch for my needs.

A versatile watch

This is a very beautiful Citizen.

This watch has a beautiful story, which I must say weighed in the balance when I was looking for my first diving watch.

It is a reissue of a 1977 model, the Challenge Diver.

The story goes that it was found in 1983 on a beach in Australia by a diver. It had remained in the water, lost by its owner. We do not know how long but on the other hand, it was found covered in shells. This is where its nickname Fujitsubo comes from, "shell" in Japanese.

I fell for this diver for its history but also for its specs, in particular the fact that it is made of titanium. So very light and resistant, thanks to Citizen's duratect.
For the technical side, it is 41mm in diameter, caliber 9051 with 42 hours of power reserve and antimagnetic, please. For the precision it is very correct because by my use it oscillates between -5/+10 sec per day. It is water-resistant to 200m, beveled sapphire crystal which gives character to the watch. I also love its 60-click bezel and this beautiful aluminum insert which plays with the light just like the indexes loaded with luminova. 
It remains quite thin with 12.3 mm thickness, the bracelet is also excellent and it has an extension which is very practical in summer, which means that it sits perfectly well on my 17cm wrist. 
These have become my everyday watch!

Citizen Fujitsubo

I wanted to share my review of my Citizen Promaster Diver Automatic watch, reference NY0084-89E.

This watch is incredible value for money and I bought it new for only €160.

It is truly designed for diving and has a real history, given that a similar model was used by the Italian Navy.

The look of this watch is extremely aggressive, which I really like. In addition, the arrangement of the crown on the left adds a touch of originality. The bezel is very precise and the luminosity of this watch is exceptional, which makes it very easy to read even in dark environments.

However, the weak point of this watch is the metal bracelet that comes with it. I found it uncomfortable and it also made noise, which was quite annoying. I solved this problem by replacing the strap with a nice nato that matches the bezel. Not only did this solve the comfort problem, but it also gave the watch an even sportier look.

Overall, this is a watch that I particularly enjoy wearing during the summer. It is water resistant and can withstand my summer adventures.

I recommend this watch to those looking for a reliable, robust and inexpensive diver.
