It was again on JC's advice that the idea came to me to register on a Kick starter made by a watch creator that is Watch angel.
The collaboration with Cedric Bellon was unexpected.
The theme of a watch with a very pure design with recycled materials and tools speaks to me. In addition, sourcing Soprod movements with GMT complication lit the fuse.
Finally, this sandwich dial is magnificent.

Emotion: a sublime watch but once again not assumed. the dial too thing, the bracelet not the size. but that was without counting on the top after-sales service of GP: "sir, we have never found the perfect fit for each of our customers". and after sending the 2 additional links. the combination was perfect and the bracelet adjusted.

An absolutely sublime piece, I am at a loss for words. It is the history, the weight of the brand and the characters who contribute that are felt, that is perceptible in the wearer, the design, the quality in all dimensions. The polishing of the indexes, the finishes are superb, the lightness of the piece is the first sensation that one notices. I cycle, marathons, they cover all spectrums. My favorite piece.

Appearing in 1975 after the Royal Oak (1972) and before the Nautilus (1976), it owes its profile to the architect Adolfo Natalini. And we must admit a nice stroke of the pencil! This current version in 42mm is in every way a success, at prices that do not exceed understanding... and well representing the state of the art of the time. Magnificent integrated bracelet, thickness of 10.68mm that goes under all shirts, it is the embodiment of sporty elegance. With this little extra for me that is the water resistance to 100 meters with screwed crown that allows a few strokes in the pool. The finishes are remarkable, the silky brushes that alternate with magnificent polishes... The slightly domed sapphire crystal, the Clou de Paris dial, and this harmonious octagonal bezel... without forgetting the remarkable visible GP01800 manufacture movement, magnificently crafted. A detail that I like, the light reflected by the hands, even in the dark. An unequalled polish. A flawless and a singular style.. I like it so much that I also took it in blue!

Graduated 42

This Laureato is part of the line of chic sports watches of the 70s initiated by Gérald Genta, it has a great look, and is really versatile, I wear it every day, on any occasion. For me this watch is a serious alternative to much more expensive models. I traded it for a Submariner 124060 and really don't regret it.

L'alternative 

For my first review, I had to share with you a timepiece regulated by quartz. Not that I denigrate the mechanical system but rather that quartz is rather unloved in the small world of watchmaking enthusiasts and that I am keen to put beautiful quartz in the spotlight.
What a pleasure to present to you a Girard Perregaux Laureato Equation Terre!
The first Laureato appeared in 1975 and was equipped with a movement whose quartz vibrates at 32,768 Hertz, a frequency universally adopted today by all manufacturers. Girard Perregaux has always been at the forefront of technology and still is today, many years later.
This watch from the 80s combines steel and 18 carat gold which gives it an undeniable dressy side, reinforced by a contained diameter of 35 mm and a thickness of barely 7 mm.
These proportions and its style make it for me one of the most comfortable and most appreciated watches in my collection.
The presence of the integrated bracelet, 23 mm wide at the lugs, gives the watch an increased presence on the wrist, which allows me to use this watch as a daily watch for my work at the office.
This integrated bracelet is composed of a series of small intermediate gold links that allow the bracelet to be perfectly articulated around the wrist. The gold buckle is branded GP and integrates into the bracelet once closed.
The quartz caliber of this superb jewel bears the reference GP 738.1, 11 jewels, and is equipped with several complications, including the atypical wheel of astrological signs. The date, month, moon phase and astrological sign are indicated. This movement is superbly decorated with Geneva stripes, circular graining and a gold-plated battery cover.
The model of the watch is "Equation Terre". This name refers to the equation of time.
In 1966, Girard-Perregaux received the Centenary Prize of the Neuchâtel Observatory in recognition of its developments in the field of precision research. The manufacturer released a collection with an exceptional complication: the equation of time. The equation of time indicates the difference between real solar time and mean time or civil time. Indeed, the length of the solar day varies daily due to the elliptical shape of the Earth's orbit. On Earth, this duration varies between 17 minutes less and 14 minutes more and it is necessary to add or subtract it from local solar time to know the mean solar time.
As you will have understood, I love my watch and I consider it a real collector's timepiece.
