Why customers love Hanhart?

Hanhart Aquasphere FreeFall Blue (ref: 772.270-6428): This is the first diver's watch to be presented by the German brand since its creation in 1882 at the end of 2024. It measures 42mm with a 49mm lug width and a thickness of 12.95mm. It is water-resistant to 300m and equipped with a helium escape valve. It is powered by a Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement. As a diver's enthusiast, I wanted to add a model from a German brand to my collection. During my research, this model immediately appealed to me thanks to its matte blue dial and sharp typography (reminiscent of the Ball Engineers). The hands are well differentiated and long, making it easy to read the time. The 60-click ceramic bezel is very smooth and pleasant to use. Additionally, the red line on the bezel chamfer at 12 o'clock refers to the history of the colored pushers on Hanhart aviators' chronographs during World War II. The satin-finished case is also well-crafted, with the distinctive hollowed-out sides and drooping lugs, providing excellent wearer comfort (inspired by the Primus model). On the other hand, the screw-down caseback leaves me a little more perplexed... While I find the engraving depicting a seabed with coral and small fish very well done, it doesn't match the sleek and aggressive character of this diver's watch (a bit like an old pirate with flamingo tattoos...). I would have preferred a more aggressive engraving, like a submarine, a torpedo, or a battleship, to remain in keeping with Hanhart's military DNA... The steel bracelet is equipped with flash springs and a diving extension with a very high-quality folding clasp. Finally, the clasp proudly displays a "HANHART" engraving. Regarding the precision of this Sellita SW200-1, I tested it in 6 positions with an excellent average of +3 seconds/day. Hanhart is a manufacturer over a century old with a rich historical reputation, but thanks to this entry into the world of diving watches, it hopes to write a new chapter in its watchmaking adventure and look to the future. For now, I am very satisfied with my Aquasphere, which is overall very successful because it retains all the hallmarks of a classic diver's watch while incorporating its own identity (hollowed sides, red line, "Deutsche Qualität"). It seems to have been a success, as this first edition is now sold out. I think Hanhart will continue to surprise us by hopefully introducing new dial colors and, of course, a chronograph version... The compulsive purchase for this watch, I chose this 417 es Bronze Copperhead X Revolution for its bronze case, which promises a magnificent patina over time, and for reference to Steve McQueen, a true symbol and timeless style. A disappointment however for the place of resale (Asia) and not Germany. This gives the impression of a relocation which takes away a little of its authenticity (not to mention the customs fees). But a magnificent watch nonetheless!!! Always a pleasure to have it on the wrist!!!

My passion for "pilot" type watches inevitably led me to the very legitimate German brand Hanhart. Its historical side directly inspired by the brand's models in the 30s-40s, this bi-compax dial with its slightly hollowed sub-counters, this striated bezel, this red reset button, this "TwinControl" was immediately a favorite! Of course, it has been updated and necessarily moves away a little from the original: 42 mm diameter, an automatic movement, a date window and an anti-reflective treatment that allows you to admire this magnificent dial and its different angles and whose overall finish is truly flawless, even under a magnifying glass! It has been with me for several years now and it is always the same pleasure to put it back on my wrist!

Steve McQueen's German chronograph... I'm talking of course about the 417 ES from Hanhart. The watch I own has the little particularity of having a Flyback movement, allowing a return in flight of the chrono function. Possessing a 30-minute counter, and a counter for the seconds, this panda chrono has a hell of a look. It also has a fluted bezel (a bit like the Oris pointer date) but this one is rotating and marked with a small red line. The Hanhart bracelet does not have micro adjustments but is very qualitative.

This watch is simply the jewel in my little collector's crown. I had been eyeing the Hanhart 417 ES model for over a year. The watch was at the top of my shopping list. But when Hanhart put this Red x Blue limited edition on sale, I immediately got it into my head to acquire it as soon as possible. Which became a reality last April. This edition, limited to 140 pieces, has all the signatures of the Hanhart brand (some of which are not present in the base model): 39mm in diameter, red index at noon, blue dial and especially the iconic red pusher at four o'clock. In addition, mine is numbered with the "021", a number that recalls a legendary French playmaker from Juventus Turin. On the technical side, the watch has a Sellita hand-wound movement with 58 hours of power reserve. With this Red x edition, Hanhart does not do things by halves by delivering a second mechanical chrono, sporting the same blue color of the watch dial. The only small flaw I can find in the watch is... one of the reasons that pushed me to buy it: its blue Alcantara-style strap which is certainly beautiful but easily collects dust. To keep it, I bought a second black leather strap with white stitching, accompanied by the iconic "Bunde" which gives you the look of a seasoned aviator.

I appreciate the beauty of the dial of your Hanhart 417 ES watch and the comfort it offers when worn. The panda dial is indeed an aesthetically appealing choice, with its contrasting subdials adding a touch of sophistication. Comfort is also a crucial aspect for a watch, as it is important to feel comfortable throughout the day.

For a few days now I have been the happy owner of a second Hanhart. This time it is a 417 ES limited series of 140 copies worldwide and 7 delivered for the French ADs. When I bought my MK1 I hesitated with the 417 but it was no longer available in 39. When Hanhart released this limited series I did not hesitate. It met all the criteria: 39mm, the red button which I find missing on the normal 417, the Flyback function and superb dial that the photos do not show at its true value.

Initially looking for a chrono I hesitated between a Vulcain, an Echo Neutra and the so-called Hanhart 417 ES and to be honest it was last on my list because the Bund strap bracelet only moderately attracted me. Finally I opted for the latter and I do not regret it at all. It is 100x better in real life than what the photos can give and Finally this bracelet is a killer ... it is ultimately inseparable from the charm of the watch even if the steel bracelet also saws very well. The quality of the 417 ES is impeccable. I fell in love with it.

I had been eyeing the ES chronos in 39 mm for a while. But the day they announced the reverse panda, I ordered it within the hour. The crazy charm of this chrono comes from the usual Hanhart crenellated bezel, the very domed sapphire but also the font of the indexes and the vintage logo. The sandwich sub-dials bring a real visual plus. Not to mention the "bund" leather strap for the historical aviator look. To top it all off, the AMT 510 movement, in the "high end" at Sellita, with flyback function (return to zero of the chrono without stopping it) arrived set with reassuring precision. I prefer manual winding on a "vintage" chrono. Already just because in 39mm, we gain in thickness. But also because it creates a special relationship with the watch. Sober, balanced and once again very endearing and charming, it is perfect for the 50's fan that I am (in watches but also clothes and even guitars). Since then, I also have the adapted Hanhart steel bracelet and this gives it a whole other dimension, less "historical" but no less charming.
