Patek Philippe Gondolo - References, Prices and Owners' Reviews

This is a watch that belonged to my great-grandfather and that I recovered last year in a rather incredible way. This pink gold reference to Clous de Paris is extremely rare, there are only two known examples, according to my research, mine and its twin sister exhibited at the Patek Museum, which comes from the auction "The Art of Patek Philippe" in 1989 (confirmed by the brand). I particularly appreciate its very Art Deco style, the hand guilloché of its bezel which gives it this museum piece look, the large curvature of its case and its glass as well as its double gadroon, which gives it a thrilling design. Its 9-90 shaped movement, although hidden behind the solid case back, has finishing standards that are no longer done today at Patek. This watch has become a true family myth for me that has completely obsessed me since the beginning of my watchmaking adventure 13 years ago, although my great-aunt never wanted me to get it, reserving it for her direct descendants, descendants who resold it as soon as they got their hands on it, which I realized when I saw it appear on Chrono24 (I can recognize it thanks to its patina and I had been looking for it for 13 years without ever having seen another one, so it was it, the seller having also told me at the time of purchase that it was a watch "that had always been in the same family"). So I was able to fish it out after 13 years of trying and searching the Internet for it without success.
