I am a fan of the Seiko brand. I started my life as a watch enthusiast with a Seiko five, recommended by my father. He then praised the many merits of the Japanese brand. My love for the brand has not changed, and I like more and more what the brand produced in the 60s/70s, in particular a certain Seiko 'Pogue'. The 2021 edition reminds me a lot of this famous chronograph. It is far from being a perfect piece; its bracelet is not very qualitative, the movement is not the most precise. But no matter, it is really pretty and endearing.

This Seiko 5 is a true "field watch", with a step dial, a brushed case and perfect readability. With a diameter of 40mm and equipped with the 7S36 caliber (set incredibly precisely on my copy: less than a second of drift per day), it is a perfect watch to use in all weathers, including underwater. This was my first automatic assembly, bought new in 2019 for around 100e, it gives a lot for the price. It has now left the catalog and has been replaced by a model that is more than similar but at a price that has more than doubled (new Seiko pricing policy requires). This watch is a very nice entry in the Seiko range and has a very high quality of finish. A tough one! The only downside is the rather wide nylon strap which does not have an exemplary finish, the perfect opportunity to have fun by equipping it with your most beautiful Nato.

I present to you my Seiko 5 Sports 140th Anniversary Limited Edition... reference: SRPG47... I love this watch, I find it super pretty with its white guilloche dial background, the blue hands and the bezel which makes a great contrast, Seiko released its model in 2021 with at the same time 3 other models for the 140th anniversary of the Japanese manufacturer a PROSPEX a PRESAGE and a superb ASTRON...

It is an automatic watch with 42 hours of power reserve...

Movement 4R36. Diameter 42.50mm. Thickness 13.40mm. Retail price 300 euros.



Ma Seiko 5 Sports 140th Anniversary Limited Edition

I was instantly seduced by this reissue.
Its look, its robust manufacture movement (which has long proven itself), its small size and its agreed price immediately filled me.
I have always considered watches as jewels, which must combine utility, comfort and pleasure for the eyes. This watch meets all these elements through its attributes.
A small 39.5 case which despite its thickness, knows how to be discreet. Very efficient & intuitive visibility. A delightful, unconventional and comfortable metal bracelet. A 100m water resistance which allows you to always have it on your wrist. It exudes solidity and longevity that we are not afraid to wear daily. The only downside is its mineral glass which I know will quickly suffer my clumsiness.
I prefer so-called vintage watch models, but I can't acquire a watch that has already been worn. For reasons of trust.
This SRPK17 meets all my expectations.

A look from another time brought up to date.

I present to you my atypical sand-colored Seiko 5. I wear it often. I already really like Seiko 5s and this color of the bezel and dial immediately hooked me...it has a diameter of 42mm and its price is 300 euros...it is not a diver like the SKX...the watch comes with a Seiko Milanese mesh bracelet.

I present to you my Seiko 5 Sport with original Milanese mesh bracelet. I really like this watch and this Japanese manufacturer. Its diameter is 42mm. The glass is in Hardlex. It is very comfortable to wear and has a very pleasant look, like many Seiko 5s. The price of this watch is 300 euros.

My first mechanical watch, received from my brother for my 30th birthday.
What I like about this Seiko is the "full black" side, quite versatile.

Unfortunately, the nato provided with the watch was a little light for my taste. I replaced it with a Rubber from BBmods.

I think it's a great watch for those who, like me, are starting a collection.

I love my Seiko 5 sports, it's my field watch at the same time dressed that is very urban and versatile, super comfortable with the Milanese mesh bracelet.
I would have liked it to have the screw-down crown.
In any case one of the watches I wear the most at work, as for barbecue evenings.

My Seiko 5 model SRPG47K1 was ordered in Japan at the price of 300 euros...I love its dial, this ice blue color, it comes with a Milanese mesh bracelet but I alternate with another Seiko bracelet...it is very comfortable and I often have positive comments when I wear this watch...its diameter is 42mm

I present to you my Seiko 5 SKX Sports in automatic blue that I wear quite often because I really like the style of these Seiko 5 which are neither more nor less than the heirs of the legendary Seiko SKS 007... I find it very successful and comfortable the watch comes with a steel bracelet with folding clasp but I often change the bracelets I alternate with a tropic bracelet or a Milanese mesh bracelet... its diameter is 42.5mm, its thickness is 13.4mm, the lug width is 22mm and the glass is hardlex (tempered mineral glass) and its price is 300 euros

Ma Seiko 5 SKX Sports Style SRPD51K1

Buy on pre-order on the Lepage website in Lille, I had a crush on this watch and an impulse purchase (what do you want...). initially interested in a Seiko 5 sport vintage regatta, I loved its look especially its case which only measures 38.5 in diameter (ideal for my chicken handle). The 4R36 caliber is a good tractor at Seiko. The bracelet is a big strong point despite the buckle which could have been a little more qualitative. Small downside for the Hardlex glass and the bi-directional bezel without clicks but honestly for 400€ we forgive it!

I present to you my Seiko 5 Sports SRPD61K1 that I have had for a few years but that I do not wear often ... while this watch from the Japanese brand is pleasant and easy to wear and not too heavy, I still always have great pleasure in putting it on my wrist, the green of the dial changes color depending on the light which is a beautiful effect, Seiko fans tend to call it the Seiko 5 Hulk ... the dial glass is in Hardlex (reinforced mineral) it has an ATM of 10 and a diameter of 42.5mm.

The feeling of a sunset on your wrist, a price that allows you not to think too much, a very useful complication and a robustness that relaxes you... I like it when my life is simplified!!! The diameter of 42 is not felt at all and the jubilee bracelet is really very comfortable and of good quality considering the price (389€)

I present to you my Seiko 5 Suits Style in a different version and that we do not see much, it is sold with the Milanese mesh bracelet stamped Seiko (K1) or with a pretty rubber strap with Seiko pin (K2) ... I really like the Seiko 5 and not long ago Seiko has just released the new Seiko 5 SKX SRPK87K1 which recalls the five models of 1960 ... My Seiko 5 Suits is very pleasant and easy to wear not heavy and pretty with variations in color of the dial depending on where you are ... the diameter is 42.5mm the glass is in Hardlex (reinforced mineral) with ATM at 10 (the crown is not screwed) heir to the SKX but it is no longer a diver.

I present to you my Seiko 5 sport FIFTY FIVE FATHOMS...which I find goes everywhere with the look of a diver, the robustness of a sportswoman, the Seiko SNZH55K1 also known by its nickname of "Fifty Five Fathoms" for the homage to the Blancpain timepiece, is a versatile piece that can be worn on multiple occasions...Belonging to the "Best Sellers" category of the "Five" subsidiary of Seiko, the SNZH55K1 has a unidirectional bezel matching the Black & White dial of the watch.
As for the hands and indexes, they are treated with Lumibrite, a non-radioactive and luminescent component, making the time readable in all circumstances. On the back, there is a transparent caseback, allowing the wearer of the timepiece to observe the caliber 7S36B in action.
The Seiko manufacture movement is equipped with 23 jewels, benefiting from 40 hours of power reserve.

At three o'clock, there is a date and day complication, adjustable via the crown also located at three o'clock. The whole thing is protected by a "Hardlex" tempered mineral glass, a specialty at Seiko.

Finally, this automatic model is water-resistant to 100 meters. It does not allow swimming or diving, but is resistant to showers, baths, swimming or even hand washing. This watch is now impossible to find new, perhaps still on a Japanese online site where there are still new SKXs at 3 or 4 times the price ... this watch has a diameter of 42mm. price at the time: 250 euros.



ma Seiko 5 sport FIFTY FIVE FATHOMS

The Seiko 5s of yesteryear, whose references and variants are (almost) innumerable, have always had a lot to offer. 

This SNZH55, with its false airs of Blancpain "fiftyfive", is no exception to the rule. What seduces you as soon as you open the case, a soberly domed glass, vintage touch, a bezel insert that is also transparent. 
The case is polished except for the surface of the horns, few angles on the latter but it does not clash with the whole. 
The notched bezel is essential, fortunately well balanced with the dial. The latter is deep, glossy black. Underlined by the subtly polished and brushed applied indexes. 
The sword-style hands are well filled with lume. 

In the 7 years that I have owned it, it has seen just about everything, despite its non-screwed crown, snorkeling, the swimming pool and even the Thermal Baths have not done much to it. 

We will still regret the "Hardlex" glass which remains more fragile to scratches. Besides, it has hardly moved. For the investment made 7 years ago, nothing to be ashamed of! 

Powered by a 7s26 manufacture movement, day and date complication, the precision is in the average range. 

Nothing to say, we were well served at Seiko a few years ago.

I present to you my Seiko 5 SKX Suits Style with a pretty green dial, which changes depending on the weather, this watch has already been on the channel in a Street Watch episode, I find it super cool and I wear it often, the Seiko 5 are the heirs of the legendary SKX 007 that I also own... but they are not intended for diving, they have 10 ATM and above all they do not have a screw-down crown, but the choice is vast because Seiko has developed a multitude of Seiko 5 models which are super cool, its diameter is 42.5mm and the dial glass is in Hardlex and it comes with a Seiko Milanese mesh bracelet.

Ma Seiko 5 SKX Suits Style 

Seiko 5 sport, SRPL05K1...limited series of 9999 copies, which for me is useless. Nice neo retro model with a contained diameter, 38.5 mm. It comes with two bracelets. I prefer the leather one but aesthetically the metal one suits it better. Its movement is the 4R36, no problem. Good perceived quality too. Mention for the days in Kanji. A little heavy. Rotating non-notched bezel. Green "luminova" treatment not tested over time. Water resistant to 10 bar. A little pleasure at 460 euros which is not exaggerated.

Seiko 5 sport...a pretty neo retro.

Seiko five sports (ref: SNZG11K1). This is one of my first mechanical watches and I am amazed by the exceptional quality/price ratio. Indeed, the stepped dial is pleasant to look at as is the applied logo and the seconds hand with its red tip. I also love its 42mm brushed case and the open back on the 7s36 movement. The nylon strap is pleasant but a little too wide for my taste (22 mm). I have 2 small negative points to note nevertheless: The glass which is in Hardlex (still sensitive to scratches..) and the watch is wound only by the movements of the wrist (impossible to wind it with the crown..). In conclusion, I can say that this Seiko offers for less than 150€, a reliable, precise, very readable automatic watch, water-resistant to 100m, etc. .... In short, you get your money's worth!

Ideal watch for beginners in watchmaking

Just incredible watch, very good value for money, Originality of the crown at 4 o'clock, Superb composition of colors, with electric blue bezel, matte black dial, and the originality of the cream white indexes, which gives it a vintage side, Day of the week in FR + date. It has an open, transparent case back, very nice find! Happy 😀….

SEIKO 5 AUTOMATIC

This Seiko 5 sport reference SRPE67K1 is surprising. It is certainly an entry-level but the finish is impeccable with a beautiful alternation of mirror polish and brushed, the offset crown brings a very nice side to the design, the large indexes and the hands suit it very well. The lum from Seiko is really impressive. The horns are short so it is a 40 mm but which is worn very well even on a small wrist. The 4R36 movement works very well even if it is not the most precise. As usual on this range the glass is not an aphid but a hardlex unfortunately but it does the job. Be careful though, it is sold on a nato and that still adds quite a bit of thickness. I don't think that's what suits it best. On the other hand I wear it on a rubber and it suits it perfectly. In short, a very nice little watch!

A small Seiko perfect for everyday use

Here is a purchase that was a crush or even an impulsive one!
The type of purchase that makes you wonder "why"...
In hindsight, the comic book character "Snoopy" called upon my emotional memory. A comic strip that few remember.
The caliber is the robust 4R36, this watch was released in few copies, however this is not what motivated the "impulsive" purchase. We like to watch it turn and its finish

An original Seiko

SRPG47K1, the reference is a bit barbaric, but what is hidden behind it? 
A superb limited edition (or not given the 11,000 copies produced) of the Seiko 5 Sports divers. 
A diver's look for this watch that succeeded the famous SKX in the Seiko range. 
On the technical side, the 100m of water resistance will seem light for diving, especially without a screwed crown. The bezel, although graduated, does not have LumiNova either. The indexes have very effective LumiNova. On the dimensions side, the 42.5mm diameter is very pleasant, the well-integrated crown at 4 o'clock helping to save width. The lug-to-lug length is 46mm. The bracelet (of questionable quality) of 22mm is well integrated. 
On the emotional side, not much to tell beyond the little story of the limited edition for the 140th anniversary. Design-wise, be careful, we have a very high level. The case is really great, the polished and brushed surfaces, the beauty of the bezel, the flange... Not to mention the dial, because this watch, although sporty, is a real dial watch and that's what will make you fall in love if you handle it. In short, a fun purchase, a sporty and summery look for less than €300, a reliable movement that won't be the most precise but will go far and will be easily maintainable.
