I discovered this manufacturer during my watchmaking wanderings. Like many, I started with the brand with the crown.

Seeing the Oyster case far too often, feeling like I was in a communist regime, my eye started to look at what was happening elsewhere.

(Please note that it is with a touch of humor that I write these lines, Rolex makes incredible watches that combine robustness and beauty with insolent success since the advent of the tool watch, but to my great dismay, the choice to acquire one... like with the blinkers of a nag launched at full speed, we do not look at what is being done around. We also buy it consciously or unconsciously in order to have a safe haven or better, to make an investment... I was one of those... and it is completely understandable).

There you have it, by spending hours on the watchmaking subject we go from article to article or video to video... We are bitten… 
And we say to ourselves "why not try other things"
So we start to lick a few windows, that's it, we convinced ourselves that we are going to differentiate ourselves.

I took the plunge. I bought a pp calatrava 5227j… And there, believe me, it's a watch that obliges you… you should almost become more polite and courteous once you wear this kind of watch on your wrist.
What elegance…. 

And then… And then… the road is never finished in watchmaking, we can't say to ourselves "this one was the last one." 
So I continued to watch videos and I came across our favorite friend Xavier from the Dialicious channel with a guest François-Xavier and his 1815 chrono…. And there, revelation, the seed was sown. I started my research work on this manufacture... Big challenge 3 years ago few articles were devoted to this German manufacture of very small production (-7000 pieces per year).

I went to Dubail Champs Élysée, I was kindly turned away telling me that they had no visibility on my model, and that they could not take me on the waiting list

2 years later, a market cleaned up with the flight of investors. I try my luck again but this time in the new official boutique 1 rue de la paix.

Bingo immediate availability. I take a plane to Paris.

What a pleasure to finally be considered as a passionate buyer, and not as a potential speculator.... FINALLY

Lange 1, what watches friends to start in this manufacture. This dial with an organized disorder. A watch that can look straight into the eyes of Calatrava, Patrimony, Code 1159.
You would almost think you were at an independent.
Pink gold is the most versatile of the proposals in my opinion.
Small bonus, it is possible that you will be left alone and that it will not be stolen from you, because it is little known to the general public.
It is certain that this is not a budget that suits all purses, but for those who are so lucky, do not hesitate to show yourself unfaithful to the holy trinity (PP-VC-AP) you will not be disappointed.

Mra first Yema. a real beautiful diver.... And French too...cock-a-doodle-doo. It houses an ETA movement. (a real tractor). Very nice proportions, perfect for chicken wrists. The bezel block really gives a unique look to the watch. Even if it is not very practical for calculating the cooking of pasta. a beautiful rebirth of Yema

Superman legacy.

Here is a watch to get started with divers, a watch that seems very robust, for barely 200 euros. This is a feat that is too rarely achieved. This watch can be your faithful adventurer when you feel that you are going to damage your more precious watches. Do not hesitate, it will surprise you. Some elements may seem a little cheap.... But hey, the quality/price ratio is unbeatable.

an affordable watch

Another Serica. Another beautiful watch. Always the same lemonade from our friends at Serica, No pale copies, some inspiration here and there (Omega, Tudor, Rolex...). A host of details, always the decision not to put a date. The bracelet is still very finely adjusted (with a little time to adapt.... In short, we are starting to get the hang of them at Serica, we wonder why this micro brand did not come into the world earlier.

A field watch as we like them. Beautiful proportions. A lacquered dial, a beautiful bezel (which will unfortunately take some stretching). The bracelet allows for micro adjustments which are appreciable in the summer when the wrists swell. A tractor that will accompany you on all occasions. Successful reinterpretation.

Here is a watch that will catch the eye of the curious and the connoisseurs. Perfect proportions. A successful reinterpretation of the GMT too often copied from the brand with the crown. A truly beautiful and accessible watch. An everyday ally, ready for all situations with its water resistance pushed to 20 bar. A Pavé in the pond of the world of accessible watchmaking.

Serica 8315

Watch that has become legendary thanks to our Italian friends. Perfect Proportion. A watchmaking quest for some. To compare it to another chronograph just as legendary as the Omega Speedmaster, I would say that it is easier to wear. More precious (unfortunately), more waterproof, but less easy to use because the push buttons are screwed. In short, a lot of fun. will be perfect for summer. My preference is for the more discreet dial, which is easier to wear.

Instant love at first sight for the not so common California dial of this young and beautiful French brand, which is reminiscent of distant memories of Rolex Bubble Back… for the rest, muscular specs in a tasteful military case, with ideal and refined proportions. 37.7mm x 11.3mm. Far from the competition often cruder and less singular in terms of design in this price range. Swiss quality at the rendezvous with a special mention for the black enamel dial and the brushed grosgrain of the bezel. I changed the original bonclip bracelet for a pretty black pigskin bracelet which responds well to the depth of the dial, accentuated by the double domed sapphire crystal. The manual winding of the Soprod P24 movement adds an additional charm to the whole. A success.

Having discovered this young Serica brand on the internet I found a simplicity and a reinterpretation of the field Watch code magnificently designed by Jérôme
I wanted to see it in their showroom which is a showcase sublimating their creation what can I say how not to fall for all their variations of their 4512 and now their little sister the 6190 their dial with an impressive lacquer applied

Serica 4512 premiere watch masterstroke

The Serica 4512 Commando or how to make a "field watch" exciting!
This is a discreet and efficient watch but one that does not lack character. Its case is simply brushed but its large bezel - brushed vertically and with a polished chamfer - gives presence to this watch with very contained dimensions (diameter: 38 mm and horn-to-horn: 46 mm). Simple, contrasting and symmetrical, its deep black dial is a success. I particularly appreciate the typology adopted, the elongation of the markers at each hour and the deformation created by the sapphire crystal. A fan of "broad arrow" hands, those of this Serica are brushed and generously filled with Luminova ensuring optimal reading whatever the light. The manual Soprod P24 mechanism that powers this watch is a model of precision. The generously sized screw-down crown ensures pleasant winding and contributes to the water resistance of the watch announced at 200m. I naturally associate this 4512 with NATOs but its original bonklip-type strap is very comfortable and allows for a change from the military register. What is the little detail that I prefer on this watch? Its bezel certainly contributes to the charm of this piece but what I prefer is this magical moment when the sharp minute hand is superimposed on the hour hand, the whole thing then takes the shape of a fighter plane that systematically makes me dream (see the photo)! In 2023, Rambo would surely go on a mission with a G-Shock but it would not have the charm of this 4512 Commando!

4512, a revisited commando!

Classified as a fieldwatch, this watch, in its California version and with its steel bracelet, is in my opinion an atypical chic sports watch. Let's start with the case: fairly classic shapes but with a nice presence thanks to its well-shouldered horns. But what strikes the mind is this vertical brushing of the flat bezel and its polished outline. Then, its dial: depth of the lacquered black, painted indexes in a vintage spirit. Font neither too modern nor too old. We feel that all the design choices have been well thought out, well made. Very fine and comfortable steel bracelet, more jewelry than sporty, which goes perfectly with the atypical side of the watch. Movement: I will only mention its manual winding, everyone will make their own opinion, but in any case very precise (2s/day). Criticisms: I would have preferred slightly more plunging horns, and a slightly more robust lume.

Elegance and simplicity

Literally falling in love when it came out, I managed to find one "like new" on lbc. I wear it very often 3 or 4 days/week. This since I found the bracelet that suits it best for me... a rubber with adapted endlinks that properly fits the case. The original bonklip seems a bit too dressed up, vintage and light which contrasts too much for me with the solid, stocky and robust side of the model. From now on it fills me and fulfills its mission wonderfully. Many people notice it, always in a positive way.

The Sérica 4512 WMB is a small, discreet and refined manual winding watch! 
However, it is sold as a military watch, it could very well be a dress watch, a small diameter of 37.7 mm, a continuous thickness of 11.3 mm, a superb black enamel dial, broad arrow hands and a water resistance of 200m. 
It comes with a very beautiful metal "bonklip" bracelet, this bracelet has a particularly ingenious adjustment system but it has no safety on the clasp and it must be worn tight, otherwise it comes off by itself. 
So I wear my watch on leather bracelets (Romane or JB workshop). I wear it almost every day except at work. It is a pleasure at every moment and it has very good precision (drift +1 to 2s/day) for this SOPROD P24 MANUAL caliber. And good readability both day and night.
A superb timepiece that I highly recommend.

perfection in simplicity

Magnificent Serica watch, light and easy to forget on the wrist, elegant and waterproof to 200m. A watch that I can wear in all situations. Accompanied by its original Bonkflip bracelet, but it goes wonderfully with NATO bracelets. My first hand-wound watch, with which I can't wait to go on an adventure.

Great discovery

I was seduced by the California dial of this watch while wanting to support an independent brand that has made a lot of noise, rightly so. But after a few months, the honeymoon ended and I wear it less and less. However, the dimensions are perfect, it is forgotten on the wrist and it is an adventurer at heart. The design of the dial is original. However, it seems too simple to me and I realize that field watches are not for me.
