I bought the Serica 8315 GMT after falling in love with it at a watchmaking evening dedicated to the brand. The passion of the creators and the unique DNA of these watches really won me over.

I don't regret this purchase; it is unique. Its design is inspired by classic watchmaking codes, but reinterpreted and modernized.

The enamel dial of this watch has an incredible and magnificent depth. The absence of a logo, the refocused indexes that help to visually fill the space. Everything is coherent and reinterprets the codes.

I would say that I just need a good steel bracelet to complete it.

My first chronograph!

On the technical side, the watch is equipped with an ETA VALJOUX 7753 movement.
This Swiss chronograph movement is renowned for its precision and reliability. It is equipped with 27 Jewels and beats at 28,800 A/h.


YEMA RALLYE ANDRETTI LIMITED EDITION

This is a particularly elegant pilot's watch.
I like the story it tells. It reminds us that at the beginning of the 20th century, aviation pioneers wore Longines. This is only part of Longines' rich, almost bicentennial history.

Technically, it has good specifications considering its price.
It offers beautiful finishes alternating between brushed and polished.
The assembly is impeccable.
The crown is imposing, confirming the pilot's watch side.
The sunray blue dial is detailed.
The indexes are applied and luminescent.
The brand logo and the 5 stars are also applied.
These 5 stars mean that this is a model that has benefited from particular attention to chronometric precision. Longines has been using them for a long time.
Even the railway is well worked with recesses to make room for the small diamond at each hour.
The case back is quite ordinary.

As for the movement, it is efficient and certified as a chronometer by the COSC.
It is the L888.4, oscillating at 25,200 vibrations per hour with a silicon balance spring and equipped with a 72-hour power reserve.

The original bracelet is pretty with a clasp with a butterfly buckle.


A tribute to the spirit of aviation pioneers!

As I said in the title, this is my first automatic watch. I chose it in 2020 because it was within the budget of 1000€ that I had set for myself. I wanted a pilot's watch because I have always found these watches impressive. Quite elegant but at the same time functional with their large dial opening and linked to the history of aviation. This one in particular pleased me a lot because it has a more modern side in its design than classic pilot's watches. There are reflections on its dial that are impressive whether it is the black background or the finely striated indexes. The day in English at 12 o'clock and the date at 6 o'clock are symmetrical from left to right, which I appreciate. The fact that it is in English recalls the American side of the brand's origins. The good metal bracelet reinforces the sporty and modern side of this watch. On the back, the apparent movement of this watch fascinated me when I bought it. Additionally this watch is worn by Matthew McConaughey in the movie Interstellar.

My first automatic watch

This watch is a reissue with some changes of the Fiyta watch that accompanied Taikonauts (Chinese astronauts) into space from 2008.

It is a tribute to the watch worn during the first extra-vehicular activity by a Chinese in 2008.

Fiyta watches have officially been the watches of the Chinese space program since 2003.

They have undergone exactly the same certification tests as the Speedmaster at the time of NASA.

The difference on this reissue compared to the original that went into space is a reduced diameter from 54 to 44 mm, a grade 5 titanium case and an 18 carat gold insert.

The last difference, which is hidden, concerns the movement.
The movement that equipped the Taikonauts' watch was manufactured by Fiyta.
For this one, Fiyta chose to use a Valjoux 7750.
Reliability, robustness, it is a very famous Swiss movement.

The finishes of this watch are perfect, beyond all its characteristics.
The grade 5 titanium parts are perfectly machined and even the buckle is of high quality, although it does not have a quick adjustment.

The integrated bracelet quickly dives towards the wrist, which makes it easily wearable despite its imposing size.
It is also relatively heavy despite the titanium (150 grams).

I find this watch very impressive for its price, with very good quality and real legitimacy.
In addition to having a second space watch in my collection next to the Speedmaster, this is what made me fall in love.

A space watch!

The Tudor Black Bay 58 Navy Blue was a real favorite for me from the moment it was launched. This favorite never went away, and after two years of reflection and following the sale of a Black Bay 41mm, I finally decided to buy it.

I really like this watch, especially for its wearing comfort thanks to its 39 mm diameter, its 47.6 mm lug to lug and its thickness of 11.9 mm.

Its vintage design, which draws its inspiration from the 50s, combined with the distinctive Tudor blue shade and the "snowflake" hands characteristic of Tudor since the late 60s, pays elegant homage to the history of the brand.

Beyond its retro aesthetic, the mechanical heart of this watch is resolutely modern. Equipped with the Tudor MT5402 movement, it offers remarkable performance, with a power reserve of 70 hours, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a precision certified by the COSC. It is even regulated with an even finer precision, of -2/+4 seconds per day.

All this is all the more remarkable when you consider that its price remains well below €5,000.

Perfectly versatile!

This is a very nice chic sports watch from the little-known brand in Europe, Fiyta.

It has a very well finished case with alternating brushed and mirror polished finishes.

It has a sapphire crystal and an open case back.

The dial is sunray blue with shades of gray in the reflections.

The indexes are well worked and there is a date window at 3 o'clock.

The movement is a Miyota F9015.3 automatic. This is a version developed exclusively for Fiyta, who is their biggest customer.

The bracelet is integrated and has a nice drop going from 23mm to 18mm in width at the buckle.

This is an excellent watch at the price of €450.

A Sport-chic from Taikonaute!

The brand Serica was created in 2019 by J&eacute;r&ocirc;me Burget and 3 friends in Paris, France. The name Serica comes from a lost region at the end of the Far East that the Greeks and Romans named it like this. This place echoes the genesis of the brand, which aims to design quality mechanical watches in a neo-retro style, ready to follow you to the ends of the world.

Finally something new and a risk taken on a GMT!!! The watch has ideal proportions and it will adapt to all wrist sizes. I bought it in their shop and was lucky to have Jérôme, the creator and designer of the brand, who was able to explain to me in detail his thinking and his process. A real moment! It's nice to give your money to real enthusiasts

Falling for something

Here is a watch that will catch the eye of the curious and the connoisseurs. Perfect proportions. A successful reinterpretation of the GMT too often copied from the brand with the crown. A truly beautiful and accessible watch. An everyday ally, ready for all situations with its water resistance pushed to 20 bar. A Pavé in the pond of the world of accessible watchmaking.

Serica 8315

I was looking for a GMT and had decided to buy it new, a first in a long time. The question of who I was going to "give" my money to quickly arose. Two brands and two models quickly emerged and after going to Serica and talking to the creators there was no longer any doubt. I was drawn into their approach and wanted to be part of their story. The watch has a unique design even if it uses well-established codes. It enhances the eclecticism of the references by not falling into lukewarm syncretism. In addition to that, it has exclusive features such as the lollipop GMT hand or the Ante and Post meridian markings on the bezel. Comfortable, sexy and COSC, it invites you to travel, what more could you ask for? The only thing that took me some time to get used to was the bracelet. It is very well made but 20/14 is atypical and disconcerting when you are not used to it. That said, like a lunar watch celebrity, it can wear anything and magnifies all bracelets.

The only small downside is we are waiting for their metal bracelet planned for 2024 🤫

A GMT that has everything a great one has to offer

The latest arrival in my Serica collection, this 8315 in its Red Sand version is really super original.

Red sand and ivory bezel, dark brown dial background, chocolate bracelet associated with the end pieces make this GMT model a chic, sporty, modern, a bit vintage, and technical piece at the same time with its C125 COSC caliber.

A base in my daily watches like its sisters 6190 and 5303…



Serica 8315 Sand Red

I bought this watch in February 2024, and after 2 months of wearing it I am completely won over. I was able to try this watch in the Serica boutique in Paris, but I am still surprised by the comfort offered by the watch. 

I have a small wrist and I was looking for a slightly sportier, thicker watch. The proportions offered are ideal and allow increased comfort even for small wrists. 
I appreciate the purity of the dial, without a date and without a brand logo. 
One regret about this watch is the original bracelet, comfortable but still light in terms of quality. It will soon have its custom bracelet. 
The watch has a COSC-certified movement. I could have done without it, but it's always good to take. 
I find the value for money convincing on this piece. 

The acquisition of this first Serica will surely make me want to be tempted by another watch in the range.
