Why customers love Tissot?

First watch for me. The price-quality ratio was really great when I bought it (€470.00 in December 2019) whereas now it is not necessarily interesting anymore, the prices at Tissot having increased. Otherwise, although slightly thick in my opinion, the watch is really superb. A beautiful guilloché (clou de Paris?), beautiful hands and then this ETA 2824-2 with the PowerMatic80 is really a comfort.

When you like watches with integrated bracelets... well you hunt around non-stop to try to discover the immense diversity of this 70s style and then you also buy compulsively! This is the case with this 3rd PR516 in my collection, after the blue dial, here is the gray dial! It is a little customized with an orange / red hand that goes very well with the gray sunray dial! It is certainly too short but that is not my main concern. My idea was to have a trio of Blue, Gray and White. It is done with this one which comes to clutter the drawers and rarely my wrist. So what? When you like something in watchmaking, it is difficult to get rid of it and in my case, I am little or no seller. I love its style, its small size (35mm) its simplicity of execution characteristic of Tissot. of this era. Its market value struggles to reach multiples in hundreds and you tear everything up in the evenings as soon as an amateur approaches and wonders about the beast... which is only a marmoset in the middle of the big gorillas from Audemars or Patek... What fun to make the illusion with this one or one of the two other PR516 integrated bracelet ;-)

Bitten by the fashion for integrated bracelets and by the vintage of the 70s, I started looking for a Tissot PR 516 (we know very well because of whom on this platform). On the other hand, I was a little put off by the small announced diameter of 33mm of the watch. During my research I turned to the GL ranges (grand Luxe) whose diameter is larger (36mm) and which offers indexes arranged on a levitating insert above the dial. This very original device gives depth to the dial. And then I come across this PR 526 GL which is the iteration of the 516 from the end of the second half of the 70s from what I read here and there. Compared to its elder, the 526 benefits from a chamfer on the indexes which makes it a little more chic than sporty (subtle). There are also a few more finishing constraints on the dial. This is what attracted me to this model: the blue-green dial, the orange hand and the cosmetic condition of the watch in general. However, I have a small question mark for this dial whose logo is simply printed and not applied, as well as the absence of an insert around the date and day windows... I don't think it's a fake but perhaps a way to save money during the quartz crisis. I don't know. The three-link bracelet gives it a muscular look and brings a nice presence to the wrist. As for the mechanism, nothing to complain about; Tissot caliber 2940 (Omega 1022 base) very well adjusted. An original, affordable watch from a historic watch brand that has its place in the pantheon of chic sports watches alongside the giants that are the Royal Oak or the Nautilus.

Following the launch of the new PRX a few years ago, my curiosity was piqued by this watch and its very retro communication. I wanted to know the genesis of the PR story at Tissot. So I came across the PR100, then the PR516, during my research. At the same time, I was able to try on several occasions the PRX automatic blue dial (40mm) of a friend, some aspects displeased me. I found it too imposing on my wrist and too flashy, even bling bling. In addition, following the craze around this watch, we were starting to see them on all wrists. I needed something more original. So I kept in mind the idea of a PR 516, in particular the GL model (grand luxe) with this sunray blue dial, the pop orange second hand and this jubilant integrated bracelet! This model is therefore an automatic with date, (mvt 784-2), it is a precise and reliable watch. What struck me at first glance was the massive side of the case despite its 36mm diameter, it seems cut from a block without details, almost minimalism. Then I noticed the work on the dial, with this blue which contrasts very well with the orange/red of the second hand. And then the minute track with its flying indexes (I had not noticed it in the photo) it creates beautiful shadows on the dial. And it is a relatively unique design in the watch industry. It has been a little over a year now that I have owned this Tissot, I still find it as pretty, I have gotten used to its rather "chunky" side, I even find that it anchors it even more in its time. I also noticed that despite its brushing on the case, it still attracts the eye of a public informed or not. In conclusion, a PR516 GL is a small dose of the 70s at a reasonable price, which says a lot more than a PRX.

The Tissot PRX watch is now one of the must-haves of the Swiss watch brand founded in 1853. The charm of this Tissot PRX also lies in its full steel format and its angular shapes. The Tissot PRX is indeed positioned as a beautiful Swiss watch at an affordable price, between €300 for quartz to up to €2,100 for the most beautiful automatic models. The Tissot PRX is a state of mind, a barrel-shaped case where a discreet round bezel is housed and from which starts a particularly well-made integrated bracelet. Perfectly suited for lovers of steel watches with a sporty chic look with a touch of vintage.

My grandfather's watch. So no price. Dated 1997. Autoquartz movement. The balance recharges an accumulator. So immense power reserve. Simple and elegant dial. The tritium of the hands has disappeared or blackened Waterproof 10 ATM. Crown signed and screwed. Sapphire caseback making the balance visible. A design that may be a little too wise. But I like its bracelet. In 27 years. 2 accumulator replacements and a hand. Not expensive to maintain.

This is a watch that I never get tired of, precise, waterproof to 100 meters, suit or t-shirt, elegant or sporty, the bracelet will give it the identity you want. The dial reflects the light perfectly and you can go from the office to the swimming pool without taking it off. A watch that I rediscover regularly with always the same pleasure

In the 2000s, Tissot had released the T-touch range which was fashionable. Then a few years later, the Sea Touch arrived. We saw it in all the advertisements. Being a diver, I rushed to acquire it. Indeed, it has a depth gauge, gives the ascent speed. Perfect to support my dive computer. In addition, it has a 2nd time zone, stopwatch, thermometer and compass. It has everything to please. It accompanies me to the 4 corners of the globe and in all the seas. Even after 15 years, it is my faithful companion for my holidays. To this day, it is far from being outdated and works like the first day.

I have had a soft spot for the Tissot PR516 for quite some time with its very simple case and its 33/34mm format. This one is doubly appealing because it is mounted on a steel Racing bracelet that is absolutely fantastic in terms of looks but really not comfortable! It doesn't matter - as the other would say - because it is the symbol of racing watches often presented with a bracelet and not the latter. It is an electronic model based on Dynotron... a hybrid caliber with a battery instead of a spring while retaining a balance spring for regulation. Its look is very original, you might think it is a diver's watch... but it is not, no unidirectional bezel or special waterproofness. If you want to spark a watchmaking discussion, you will have more success with this Tissot than with a blockbuster from the market that has been seen and reviewed ;-) Orange is the new black
