May 2020 I celebrate my 25th birthday. 
What can I buy myself to mark this event? After many hours of reflection, the choice is made, it will be a "beautiful watch".
And there you have it, the virus is in me, I spend hours and hours reading articles and watching videos (from Dialicious of course).

But despite these hours of research, I still don't know which model to choose.

I go to the store with my money in my pocket and after two hours in this store in Aix en Provence, having tried on a dozen models, the choice is made, it will be a Le Locle.

How can you not fall under the spell of this watch?

A watch of incredible classicism, with beautiful textures, a gray-white dial, this decorated sapphire caseback and the Powermatic 80 movement which offers its 80 hours of power reserve.

Since that day, I have worn this watch at least ten days a month.

When someone asks me what first watch to buy I always say a Tissot!

In short, the Le Locle is an incredible watch that is terribly easy to wear!

The first automatic watch I bought

My first Seiko and probably not the last.

I just bought this magnificent Seiko Style 60's GMT.

First of all, I would like to point out that I bought this watch in the Seiko boutique in Aix-en-Provence, the service and advice were great from the boutique manager.

I find this watch superb, indeed, it has a blue-gray dial that offers multiple shades.
The shiny applied indexes really bring out the light.
The diameter of 40.75mm may seem large but the GMT bezel really reduces the diameter.
The GMT bezel has a very light two-tone that I didn't notice right away.

I find the finishes of this watch incredible for the price.

On the other hand, there is one thing that I can't understand why the Style 60's collection is part of the Presage range?
We are halfway between dressy and sporty ("sport-chic")?

In short, it is a bipolar watch but it is no less magnificent.
There will definitely be another Seiko in my collection one day.


Fatal Beauty

Wow! That's the word I said the first time I saw this piece in a photo on the internet.

I find this watch incredible, first of all it's a moon phase (well it's useless but it's pretty), then it's a limited edition (yes Herbelin is prestigious).

Clearly the finishes of this watch are superb, the dial is sunburst, the moon too, the applied indexes are also very beautiful, the small spinel adds a chic side and the patinated bracelet makes it totally unique.

In short I'm a fan of this watch which is in my eyes almost perfect.

I got this watch some time ago from my father's things.
He told me that it was his father's, therefore my grandfather's, whom I never knew.
With this watch I feel like I know him.

This Tissot Seastar Automatic has a contained diameter of 35 mm and is a simple three-hand watch.

I really like the Tissot "T" logo applied to the dial and the case back engraved with a sun on this watch.

It is quite damaged, scratched everywhere, a polish and a change of plexiglass would not hurt it...

I mounted a pretty two-tone nato strap on it which gives it a summery look.

In short, a pretty simple vintage watch.

Here is a nice watch, this tonneau-shaped watch is the first mechanical watch I had in my hands.
Indeed it is a watch that I inherited from my uncle.
My first "real" watch in a way.

I like it a lot, but it is not really understandable...

A tonneau shape, blued hands with superluminova, Arabic numerals, a sapphire case back that reveals a skeletonized movement, an imposing steel bracelet.

In short, this watch is a bit of a UFO, borrowing features from many known models, which makes it a rather unique watch that my friends, colleagues or watchmakers notice each time saying it is weird this watch.

This is also why it is different and why I wear it very often.


A barrel as an inheritance

The Tissot brand was created in 1853 by Charles-F&eacute;licien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile in Le Locle in Switzerland. A real 70's look this Tissot which is in clinical condition!!! Automatic and with a magnificent monobloc case. One of the prettiest in my vintage collection, super pleasant to wear with its jubilee which suits it wonderfully, moreover it is my only watch where I have never tried another strap so much it suits it wonderfully 😉😉I hope you will like it as much as I do but I have no doubts about it 😂

Tissot Seastar visiodate automatic seastar seven 70's

I am an absolute fan of my watch which was only made in one copy by Tissot in 67 for the designer of the logo of the universal exhibition in Montreal in 1967 Julien Hébert. This dial Terre des Hommes makes this watch unique without brand without date no other information than this magnificent logo going around and these sublime black and gold indexes

When we talk about Tissot Seastar, we think more of a diver than a dress watch. But just like Omega with its Seamaster range, Tissot has produced many classic Seastars. Here is a model from the early 70s that I have owned for at least 25 years. It has never let me down, despite a total lack of maintenance on my part. Mea culpa. It must be said that this small FHF ST 90-4 caliber with manual winding is of exemplary reliability, and relatively precise. The black hands, black second hand and black Roman numerals on a white dial ensure perfect readability of the time. This is one of the main reasons why I love this watch, and I wear it quite often. The 36 mm case (excluding the crown) is gold-plated, but fortunately so because the black and white of the dial could quickly become austere. While here, the Tissot has a little "classy" touch, which is highlighted by a pretty brown leather strap with a perfect patina. It therefore has its place in my collection.

An elegant Tissot Seastar

We are far from these last very interesting releases with the PRX in particular.
To travel a little more with this little bit of history that Tissot tells us with this SeaStar from the 70s. I would say that this watch is a candy from the past, with a dial that exudes decades gone by. A patina on the dial that here pulls as much on the green as on the beige or even champagne at times.
So it is certain that many here will see only an uninteresting bit of the past, and I dive into it as if to try to find out what this beauty could have lived.
A heart beating with a precision that could make the recent ones blush, an incredible lightness a diameter of the time. Nothing great and yet

Tissot SeaStar Automatic

This Tissot has become from beyond the grave, we can say, after a good overhaul as well as a little facelift, especially with the change of its "glass".
This watch had belonged to my grandfather who had given it to my father after a good overhaul I wear it with nostalgia on my wrist.
Just like the Seiko I find that it can easily change its look with a new Bracelet.
As many other watches could leave my collection, this one will remain!

Family watch

I found this magnificent vintage monobloc gold-plated watch in perfect condition. This pretty lady with a beige dial and very fine gold indexes is very chic with a diameter of 35mm. No date, and very fine hands, which reinforces its elegant side. I had been charmed by this jewel to complete my watch collection and wear it for social occasions. Failed! My wife set her sights on it…. It became her chic outing watch to match her little black dress and high heels.

Tissot Seastar1971 Cal manual 781-1. One of my first watches; bought on the bay a few years ago, it was a nice surprise for me. The watch was cosmetically very clean, the dial not pitted. Seastar obliges, screwed back and pierced horns like in the good old days, very practical for changing the straps. The watch works very well and the silver sunray dial, very classic, goes well in all circumstances. Of course I forget swimming! A good little classic that echoes my PRX: watches that give a lot without breaking the bank.

The brand Ollech &amp; Wajs was created in 1956 by Joseph Ollech and Albert Wajs in Zurich, Switzerland.
