Why customers love Lip?

I love my Lip Himalaya. It's my first automatic watch. I had initially fallen in love with their hourglass model, but when I put this one on my wrist, I knew it was the right one. While the movement itself is not exceptional, it is quite accurate and reliable. The dial with its applied indexes is very dressy, which is rare for a skeleton watch. This Lip is perhaps the best value for money for those who want a dress watch, but with a surprising je ne sais quoi!

I present to you my Lip rallye the model is blue I really like this watch and I find that it thumbs its nose at the Hamilton Chrono blue intramatic but which is much more expensive compared to my Lip ... the references of the watch are 671803 ... For this Rallye Bleue model, the Lip house is interested in the automobile world of the 1960s and 1970s. Proud of its history, it is today reviving its bi-compax chrono (two counters). Unique in its kind, this rounded dial is inspired by the dashboards of cars from the same era. This Himalaya is actually my father's watch. I really like the numbered indexes at 3, 9 and 12 o'clock. Its beating heart allows us to observe part of its escapement. This movement stamped Lip is a Miyota caliber (Citizen) with a power reserve of about 40 hours, which is enough for a daily. Its blue dial and its horns are undoubtedly its major assets.

I still remember the day I saw this watch in an auction catalogue… I wondered what this crazy thing was? What could be more fantastic in terms of message than lending time… the thing we run after the most every day. This watch symbolises all the power of watchmaking and the timeless message of time passing differently for each of us… Just imagine, there was a time when the time was not available everywhere, all the time, on your mobile phone, but rather a rare and precious duration… Thank you LIP for this good time and these memories of another era. From a strictly watchmaking point of view, this LIP integrates the electronic caliber of the R148/R184 family whose energy comes from a battery while the regulating organ is always a balance wheel/hairspring as on a purely mechanical watch… a technology prior to quartz in which LIP excelled…

When you love, you don't count. I came across this LIP Electronic at an auction and I was immediately seduced by its lightning-shaped cardinal indexes... This one is also present at the foot of the second hand like all LIP Electronics. I like to remember a time that I did not know when LIP was one of the most innovative watch manufacturers in the conquest of time and which once passed by the replacement of the spring by a battery! This is typically a collector's watch - or a drawer watch for the most pejorative - which gives me a lot of joy when I decide to open it...

The desire to treat myself to an elegant mechanical watch is at the origin of this acquisition. I wanted it to be rectangular, with European mechanics, both modern and retro. My patience was rewarded when LIP presented this limited series of 180 pieces. Today, it is the only one in my collection in this style, I wear it on rare occasions, mostly dinners and it is always with undisguised pleasure that I put it on my wrist. Mechanical, I have to wind it daily and the crown is very thin, which does not make winding easy. This is the only black point noted. It is not solid gold, it is a gold plating and not a pvd or dlc treatment.

For people of my generation Lip was the equivalent of Omega, Tissot, Breitling etc. This Lip Electronic represents an innovation and the pronounced taste of this brand to be precursors in the field of watchmaking. My model has a rather rare dial because the 4 indexes are represented by a lightning bolt. The quality of Lip proves that after more than 60 years this watch still works very well.

Acquired in December 2021, my Nautic-ski Fantôme, which is supposed to be the watch of the French special forces, broke just a few months after wearing it. I had it on my wrist quite regularly, not daily either, and I didn't mistreat it, but the movement broke, I don't know exactly how.

Here is one of my vintage, a so-called jumbo Lip with a gold-plated case in the art deco style from the 50s I think with the famous R25, size 38 mm, good size for the time and small seconds, it has been restored, revised and re-plated by a watchmaker friend in Belgium, it is like new with its white dial which has suffered the traces of time with a lunar effect. A marvel and a piece of French watchmaking history on my wrist.
