Why customers love Patek Philippe?

A legendary watch. From the first moment you hold it, you immediately understand why Patek Philippe is at the pinnacle of watchmaking. The steel case, with its perfectly brushed and polished finishes, captures the light in a mesmerizing way. The fluidity of its lines, the ergonomics of the integrated bracelet, and the comfort of wear are incomparable. Added to this is the gradient blue dial, which subtly changes depending on the lighting, shifting from deep blue to black. A truly ever-evolving picture. This is a watch that belonged to my great-grandfather and that I recovered last year in a rather incredible way. This pink gold reference to Clous de Paris is extremely rare, there are only two known examples, according to my research, mine and its twin sister exhibited at the Patek Museum, which comes from the auction "The Art of Patek Philippe" in 1989 (confirmed by the brand). I particularly appreciate its very Art Deco style, the hand guilloché of its bezel which gives it this museum piece look, the large curvature of its case and its glass as well as its double gadroon, which gives it a thrilling design. Its 9-90 shaped movement, although hidden behind the solid case back, has finishing standards that are no longer done today at Patek. This watch has become a true family myth for me that has completely obsessed me since the beginning of my watchmaking adventure 13 years ago, although my great-aunt never wanted me to get it, reserving it for her direct descendants, descendants who resold it as soon as they got their hands on it, which I realized when I saw it appear on Chrono24 (I can recognize it thanks to its patina and I had been looking for it for 13 years without ever having seen another one, so it was it, the seller having also told me at the time of purchase that it was a watch "that had always been in the same family"). So I was able to fish it out after 13 years of trying and searching the Internet for it without success.

Owner of this 5711 for over 10 years... I've been a simple watch enthusiast for quite some time now, and back then we could buy this kind of watch without any difficulty. When I see now that this is no longer possible... I wonder how it will last. I have the opportunity to visit my friends at the European Watch Company on Newbury Street, and I'm amazed by the actual sale prices for second-hand! I'm glad I bought a new one for $20,000 before all the hype disturbed the established order. This watch is the most beautiful in my collection, not always easy to wear as it scratches quickly and is sometimes a little too flashy! Otherwise, what a treat in terms of sleek lines, like a 911... A very simple design that has become iconic in modern watchmaking. Many ask me if this is Patek's iconic watch? For the public, the answer is probably yes, but for watch enthusiasts, clearly no! In any case, not for me... I'd be tempted by a 5960 Patek Philippe Annual Calendar 5960P Chronograph Platinum Grey Dial, on sale at European Watch Company. For me, it's the Patek style with its 3 counters, very characteristic of complications models of the brand. Finally, thanks to the It's About Time newsletter, which introduced me to this platform... Discreet luxury. A distinctive and singular design like that of the Ellipse, launched in 1968 with the reference 3548. When it was presented at Baselword 2021 I was captivated by the rejuvenation work of the legendary Calatrava. Apart from a few rare models, I found their watches too classic, too "old-fashioned". This new Calatrava Clous de Paris is a turning point that clearly aims to attract a new, younger clientele... of which I am one :). It is exceptional on the wrist and the white gold gives it a presence that is both discreet and "dazzling"

After a "wish" expressed at the Salon Vendôme and 3 years of waiting, this latest addition to my collection arrived on my birthday! Sportier than my Nautilus, this steel model with tropical bracelet is very comfortable to wear and will soon accompany me on trips to use its "travel time" function which displays a second hour hand to remind me of the time at "home". The two buttons on the left of the case allow this adjustment in order to advance or retreat the time and thus not lose the day/night indication which is present at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. Finally, the date is at 6 o'clock in a dedicated counter. Very beautiful finishes as always at Patek, both on the polished case and the brushed bezel. The PP-stamped movement is visible and also gives pride of place to the gold rotor. Finally, the bracelet is fitted with a butterfly folding clasp with a logo and perfectly adjusted. An old proverb says that patience is the key to joy, and right now I'm the happiest person in the world!

My three criteria in choosing a watch: a caliber of the brand, automatic and a visual crush. My first (and only) Patek! Ordered at Place Vendôme, waited for several months…and then worn continuously for months. Elegant, sporty, precise, all-terrain. Very pleasant rubber strap, never changed in 10 years! It now accompanies me mainly during the summer season except during the summer break. And that little sound of the automatic winder that reminds you that it is on your wrist. Perfect technical simplicity.
