I am definitely a fan of tool watches. First aviator watch in my collection, I am really not disappointed, wearing comfort 40mm for a thickness of 11mm, readability, technicality, everything is combined in this watch. The versatility on different bracelets makes it versatile in my eyes.

I was looking for a watch that was both readable and robust, with a diameter of less than 40 mm, and I finally chose the 556 in the “A RS” version. I have been wearing this watch daily since 2020, despite my manual work, and I am not disappointed. The first impression that emerges is that of rock-solid solidity as soon as you take it in your hand. It is quite heavy with its metal bracelet, weighing 160 g. The brushed metal and the raw shape of the case also give it a very robust look. I was able to test this solidity for 4 years: I knocked it, scratched it, rubbed it, shook it, and yet it still works just as well. The second characteristic that strikes you is the readability. The deep matte black dial, the thick hands and the sober graduation make it possible to read the time quickly. The anti-reflective glass does its job well when clean, but it is susceptible to micro-scratches over time. The mechanism is easy to adjust, and the date change is smooth. The screw-down crown guarantees perfect water resistance. I have jet-skied, visited water parks, and snorkeled, and I have never encountered any problems. The bracelet is also sturdy. After 4 years of intensive use, it still holds its clip well. Its brushed finish helps to hide the marks of time. Although it is not easy to adjust, with a little patience, it can be done quite well. I love this watch, but I find that there is something missing on the dial, between the 6 and the center. A little “RS” or “Automatik” inscription would better balance the whole thing. A great watch for everyday use that will never let you down, but a little too sober, too German for the weekend. Perfect as a tool watch.

I have been wearing it for a few weeks, I did not want the metal bracelet but rather the rubber which fits the case just as well. This watch is perfect, even for a 16cm wrist, with its 38.5 cm diameter it is large with its dial opening. Its readability is exceptional in all conditions.

Hello everyone. I am delighted to be able to express my feelings about my Sinn 356 sa flieger II. This is a watch that was given to me for the birth of my daughter, my friends knew my enthusiasm for this model of pilot's watch and I was going to buy it anyway. How can I tell you how much this watch respects these commitments and how much it lives up to its reputation. First of all, it is undeniably beautiful. Its diameter of 38.5 is ideal in my opinion. It is not too thick and its weight is just perfect for those who like to feel the presence of their watch without overdoing it. This version offers a salmon pink dial (copper according to Sinn) guilloché and sunray and its visual impact is very pleasant! The slightly satin-finished case is very discreet, without overdoing reflections, just what is needed. The sapphire crystal is slightly domed and gives some reflections around the dial that I really appreciate. Mechanically, it runs perfectly well and is very precise. Well wound, it offers a power reserve of 3 days +, it allows me to easily navigate between my watches and resume without having to reset it. I love it! The perceived quality of Sinn is impressive. Everything seems to be ultra robust, the manual winding offers a feeling of precision and robustness of the movement. The start and stop pressures of the chronograph offer a resistance and a "click" that impresses me a little each time. The only small negative point that I can expose would come from the folding clasp which had a tendency to create discomfort for me. I never really knew why. I felt an unpleasant friction. I simply ordered a pin on the Sinn website with the same satin appearance as the watch and the 'problem' was resolved very quickly. In conclusion, this Sinn 356 sa Flieger is fully up to its reputation and I can only recommend it. This is a great piece to include in a collection, whether you like pilot watches or not.

I bought this watch for its very simple design and the great readability of its dial. The readability of the dial comes from the matte black dial, very contrasting with the indexes and hands of a beautiful white. The date window is very discreet (placed at 4:30) thanks to its black background. The bright red seconds hand gives a little pep to the whole. To emphasize the military side of the watch I opted for a Marine Nationale strap (Erika) which suits it perfectly. A discreet but unique watch. Only downsides: the price... I find it a little expensive considering the specs and the original leather strap which is really not beautiful AND the anti-reflective treatment on the external face of the sapphire which makes fingerprints stand out a lot, not to mention the risk of scratches/chipping of the treatment in the long term.

This Sinn U1 is the first "value" watch that I bought about ten years ago. I already had a chic sports watch but I wanted something more radical. I was seduced by the specs: 1000m waterproof (lol especially in the pool!), U-boat steel, original syringe hands. Its only enemy: the coating of modern offices which will easily scratch your beautiful micro-beaded bracelet. Prefer the tegiment. It has become my No. 1 watch for the beach. It is also the largest I own (44mm, at the time the U50 did not exist). It is an ETA model and not Sellita like today. It is not very well known but I have the impression that among collectors it has a good love rating. Quite comfortable, it nevertheless weighs its weight if you leave it with its all-steel bracelet.

The large Arabic numerals 3, 6, 9 and 12 in white on a matte black background and the white hands allow an almost instantaneous reading of the time. The date window is very discreet, almost invisible if we compare the size of the font to that of the hour numerals. The design of the hands is particularly successful, with their black bases they seem to float on the dial. I also appreciate its contained diameter of 38.5mm which gives it a certain discretion. In short, a versatile watch but whose charm strangely lies in its simplicity or even its rigor. A daily watch that is very likely to remain stuck to my wrist!

Sinn, a German brand known without being too well-known, that's what I like. The Sinn 556 is the entry-level watch and has 4 references, mine, the 556A, has 4 Arabic numerals 3,6,9 and 12 with a white second hand. This Sinn exudes the tool watch, it is entirely brushed, easy to read, water-resistant to 200m, a crown protector and finally a ghost date that sticks perfectly to the watch. Its only "non-tool" side is the transparent case back revealing the SW-200. Mine has a gold rotor that is now silver. For its price, you get what you pay for. In the end, making a simple watch is not easy, Sinn has succeeded with this 556A.

Siin U50 is the pinacle of a tool watch. Submarine Steal, tegimented case and bracelet (that I switched for better conform in summer) Ultra readable hand and indice. But , surprisingly, germain can have a romantic side too! So for this limited editions, Siin used a Mother of Pearl dial. The watch is relativity thin, 11m so I guess it can be considered as a dress watch. :) I really like this combinaison of practicality and romance.

Looking for a sporty and waterproof watch for holidays and leisure, while remaining sober, I chose this Sinn EZM3, steel bracelet. EZM for Einzatz Zeitmesser, “mission counter”, a separate range from the watchmaker from Frankfurt am Main. I had it in mind for several months, having had in the past the Pilot version EZM3F (Flieger), with leather strap. The case design is the same, but I had grown tired of the dial which I found too minimalist. This EZM3 is an uncompromising diver, waterproof to 500m certified to European standards for diving equipment by the DNV company and to DIN standards for antimagnetism and pressure resistance. I like the microblasted treatment of the steel, the angular case and its contained dimensions with a diameter of 41mm and a thickness of only 12.3mm. A big plus considering the muscular specifications of the piece. It is very comfortable to wear. I love the military dial, its super readable and luminous baton indexes doubled by Arabic numeral sub-indexes. The red date is very discreet and knows how to be forgotten. The matte black dial and the double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal are remarkable. The 60-click bezel is impeccable in its design. Its slightly beveled shape gives a very unique look to this EZM3, in addition to the crown at 9 o'clock. A sober, professional watch, with an identity that is unlike any other. We are far from the brands or models that are a little too marketing for my taste. Not a first price certainly, but in terms of specifications and quality of execution it gives a lot. Not far from being the ideal tool watch in my opinion.
