The post-war Pobeda watches are witnesses to another time. In a few years, Soviet production will explode and catch up with other countries, thanks to cooperation and massive technology transfer, particularly with LIP. This Pobeda model from the Penza Factory with its red twelve and Bréguet hands is surprisingly refined. The colors have faded a little, but the blue reflections on the minute hand are still distinguishable. It is small, 29.5mm in diameter, the dial is chrome-plated and fairly worn. The watch dates from 1951, but the model was produced immediately after the war, initially at a prohibitive price and then gradually becoming more accessible. Wearing a watch from such an era allows you to put what you are experiencing into perspective. The Soviet recovery that took place in the industry was impressive. The anti-shock systems will improve further and ten years later Pobeda will be the first watch brand in the world to be sent into space.
