This Depancel Allure is one of my most worn watches of 2024, notably thanks to its versatility, its casual but technical aspect, and the accessible but accomplished message it conveys. The teams behind this brand and this piece, based in Annecy, are true enthusiasts who want to make sophisticated designs accessible, and that is exactly what this Allure accomplishes. The Seagull movement is often criticized, wrongly in my opinion. For almost a year of wearing it very regularly, no reliability issues to report. It is obviously not haute horlogerie, nor even something with foolproof reliability, but it is a very good little tractor that has largely proven itself. It is also a watch that has a perceived value well above its price. I have often worn it during meetings with major collectors and other professionals in the sector (notably at Watches&Wonders), and they all estimated its price at over 2,000 euros. I find this an interesting point to note, which highlights the work of finishing, design and general coherence. For me, it is a pleasure to wear, versatile, accessible, with a real successful neo-vintage 60's identity. Nothing exceptional, just a full pleasure piece that doesn't take itself too seriously.

I have been looking for a chronograph equipped with the famous Seagull ST1901 for a long time. Depancel has made a very beautiful piece with this manual Allure Chronograph. The dial has multiple facets, a black circle with pulsometric + tachymetric scale, a second circle with circular brushing that includes the minute / hour indicators, an inner circle with vertical brushing and two deeper sub-dials with circular brushing. The choice of colors is in my opinion very good. The case mixes polished and brushed, the octagonal crown is original, and the sapphire crystal back allows you to observe this famous movement. The perforated leather strap completes the vintage racing spirit well. The watch is adjusted by a watchmaker in Depancel's premises and it arrives with a small card indicating the adjustment of its precision. It also looks very good on Nato.
