SICURA Globetrotter 21 rubies with manual winding. This is a very unusual watch from the 70s thanks to its triple hour hand and its colored bezel. Indeed, beyond the classic hand, there is also a GMT hand and especially an improbable NYT (New York Time) hand. They work together when setting the time. The 41mm case has a very beautiful black dial with tritium dots and numbers as well as a date window at 3 o'clock. The bi-directional yellow and blue aluminum bezel allows you to know the time of the 24 cities listed in the flange. The case back uses the brand's traditional cabinets. The movement often remains Sicura's negative point since their goal was to offer Swiss watches at a lower cost. My copy has a modest EB 8027 caliber (Ebauches Bettlach). Note that there are also automatic versions. At an auction, its originality, its colored bezel and its magnificent hands seduced me.

The latest addition to my collection, I really like the look of this SICURA. It reminds me a bit of a Breitling SuperOcean, but with its own personality. After all, it's not surprising when you know the history of Sicura and Breitling. Quite common on the vintage market, the SuperWaterproof 400 are much less so in very good condition. Which is normal, because these watches have generally "lived well". The diameter is 41mm, but the bezel is thick, and the white 24H scale too (for me it is the essential charming asset of the watch). So the dial is reduced and the watch appears smaller than it is. Very successful! The second crown is used to block the bezel during diving (but the efficiency is much less than with a Yema Superman). I had been looking at the SuperWaterproof 400 for a long time, but it was the condition of this one that made me decide to take the plunge. The prices, although they have increased, remain correct for this type of watch. Ultimately, I am very happy with this purchase.

A typical watch from the 70s, this Sicura Diver is as rare to find as the wait I had to wait to get it. In its original condition, it needed a good polishing on the case and the bracelet was not original, so I changed it and got a two-tone Jubilee to honor it. It must be admitted that its mechanical movement with manual winding is not a lightning bolt of war, in fact it is rather low-end for the time. However, it is still running after 50 years. Precision being secondary to me, I don't mind winding it up and setting the time when I wear it. The hesalite glass is quite fragile, but superbly domed which gives it a crazy charm. The dial is champagne with applied indexes without Lum. A fluted bi-directional bezel with 15min indications, which absolutely does not make it a Diver, as its name indicates... But hey. It is undoubtedly one of the least expensive of my watches and yet its assertive character and its shape which combines Tool Watch and diving watch particularly successful for the time surely makes it one of my favorites.
